The recognition it deserves? What does it deserve exactly? The defending is awful from what I’ve seen. There’s some spectacular goals but when the defending is so bad it’s never going to be one of the biggest leagues. It’s league 2 standard in England.
I dont think "recognition" its the word I would use. I watched the games so far, and the quality is almost amateur in so many aspects. What I think is that Messi and Co will evolve the league with their play style and other teams will need to play better to face off. Hopefully
As an European watching MLS always kept me wondering why all goalies in the US seem to struggle in certain situations. Like there is a big difference between goalkeeper in Europe compared to the US. Congrats to Messi and his fellow Barca friends. They bring new ways and styles to the mls. Great to watch and see Messi happy as he was as an 18 years old!
Same as for women. It's in certain aspects still its in infancy and GK is not the sexiest position, hence talent pool is small(er). Same with bringing talents from outside the league, if you're looking at a transfer as something that has to help you fill the stadium, which the MLS is forced to, GK is at the bottom of your priority list.
Philly has been 1 of the more consistent winners in MLS since Jim Curtin took over. The Union hadn't lost a game at home all season. & Miami just crushed them. The rest of the league should now officially be afraid; very afraid. Team defenses must be built up immediately if not sooner; Lord knows some of them have had plenty of time given their early exit from the Leagues Cup.
what other teams got to do is have someone manmark messi and make it difficult for him to get the ball not make him an option anymore but no ones been doing that and even for his goal today the 2 defenders backed off and the midfielder had to try and block the shot from behind a shot the keeper should be saving
I mean they need to cover other players too because it will be World Cup 2022 all over again if they only focused on Messi. Like other players can move anywhere they want meanwhile other team manmark messi@@abelidicula1484
If it was that easy to shut down Messi, do you not think European teams would have done that and not allowed him to score like 700 goals on them. He has faced every kind of defence and decimated them all, it's just who he is.
@@abelidicula1484you think nobody tried that before? The best coaches in the world for the past 20 years have been staying up at night trying to figure out how to stop him. You man-mark him, that player gets 2 yellow cards before half time. You put 2 on him, he’ll move around and destroy the whole formation. You put 3 on him, he’ll still manage to receive and pass to an open defense. Today’s football is high pressure. Man-marking only worked in the past when you could kick a player in his face and just get a warning. He’s the smartest player to ever play football. To neutralize him for 90 is almost impossible. He’ll figure out the opponent’s plan in 10 minutes and destroy any tactics. If he did that for decades against top teams and top coaches, what makes you think any MLS defense/coach has a chance? Maybe when he turns 40 😅

Yep. Messi's 38m goal is also the main highlight.
Yup, they were so worried about Busquets, they let the defenders drive forward and lost the game because of it

That Robert Taylor assist for Jordi Alba's goal is so underrated. He literally held the ball through Philly players and laid a perfect ball. What a tournament he's having!
it was just bad positioning of one defender.. jordi would have been offside if he just kept a better position
Literally some of the worst defending i have ever seen
Dude the mid fielders were just waiting for him to pass , I mean they were not even trying to intercept or Press him nicely
hahaah why is it underrated what the hell are you talking about
the defending from number 5 and the positioning from 17 from philly where crucial and the reason why the goal was so easy...
The joy I feel from watching Messi here is similar to what I felt at the World Cup. At first I didn’t know how well Inter Miami would do with Messi after their winless streak but this is much more than I would have ever expected. Love you messi

I mean great attack but we gotta show respect to Callender for saving this game💯🎉
I was a goalie back when I played, the only time we ever got credit was if we win it in PKs.
That was an incredible save from him. Very exceptional.

MIAMI qualified for the Concachampions, this is great. Who would say that the team lifted so much and found good performance? Marvelous. There will be a very tough and even battle with Nashville (great team) where both have a chance to be champion, but what Inter did in this competition is very good

Callender has improved greatly because of Messi. Having to practice with him shooting on you.. Impressive!
As a European watching this reminds me of the season 2010/11 at barça. They just won everything. The Messi effect not only made inter Miami better but will also force the other MLS teams to perform better.

Hate to say it....but it just goes to show the quality (or lack of) in the league...when he leaves Miami in 2 years, they will be bottom again.
The issue is keeping this going. This type of boost lasts for a bit but you’re just riding the high. The moment you face adversity these types of teams tend to crumble.

As much as people credit Messi for helping to inspire this team to perform well (which is well deserved), one should not forget not only the contributions his veteran Barça teammates Busquets and J. Alba make, but also how Deandre Yedlin, who is a US Men's national team veteran who played in both 2014 and 2022 World Cups helps Alba in defending the back row

Messi is already tearing it up, the MLS is now finally getting the recognition it deserves

The goalkeeper for philly was shockingly poor
Same as for women. It's in certain aspects still its in infancy and GK is not the sexiest position, hence talent pool is small(er). Same with bringing talents from outside the league, if you're looking at a transfer as something that has to help you fill the stadium, which the MLS is forced to, GK is at the bottom of your priority list.
It’s insanely funny how easily the goalies are beaten 😂
Same in Saudi, you know the plumbers
@@ByuntaeOGwell thats miles different.
They way Robert Taylor is playing, I imagine their training sessions being like "So how would you do it Messi?"
Like other players can move anywhere they want meanwhile other team manmark messi@@abelidicula1484
try man-marking Messi an entire game.
