Well, not everyone guessed the stalled corkscrew element. Some assumed it was two banked turns, but not complaining about 4 consecutive inversions on a mini dive.
people are being so critical like, a dive coaster is a dive coaster... it's so great to see dorney park getting a huge investment and it'll probably end up being a coaster people enjoy so- i think it looks really good
No one expects the lower priority Cedar Fair parks to be getting gigas and Mack extreme spinners. But it's good to see the chain finally showing some love to these generally neglected parks.
@@flint9889 I'm not sure. I imagine it has to do with the fact that there are a number of other very competitive parks within a few hours of Dorney and they've made some calculation that investing heavily in Dorney won't result in capturing enough of the regional market to make it worth while. I don't know what kind of numbers they've seen to determine that but I think it's a long term mistake. Dorney is located very close to two of America's largest metro areas and it is a missed opportunity to not expand that park. It would be very expensive up front to build Dorney into a major contender. It might take several years before it made financial sense. But in the theme park industry you've got to think long term. I always go back to the two most profitable theme park resorts on earth. Specifically Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland resort. Both cost an absolute fortune up front. But after a delayed profit they are both absolute cash cows. Same is sort of true with Universal Orlando. Obviously Dorney is not going to be competing on that level and it's an amusement park instead of a theme park. But if they wanted to make it the Carowinds of the Northeast and have it compete with Hersheypark and Great Adventure it could really be amazing. And they could certainly make it the go to amusement park for New York City and Philadelphia metro areas if they were willing to bite the bullet up front.
It does look short but it also looks really snappy. Something that B&M has lacked for a while. The inversions all seem really good and I’m really hyped about this!
Congrats to Dorney, this looks like a unique dive coaster style. I bet its pretty intense. That inversion looked like type of immelman meets inverted dive loop. Reminds me of the drop on Kumba where you are spinning and falling. This looks really good.
This layout is so perfect! Not an insane ride but so so so SOLID and just plain nice... Dorney Park is going to have a hit on their hands with this one. Even considering that terrain dives like Griffon and Yukon Striker offer more unique elements, this is fantastic.
The layout is basically just a more thrilling version of Baron 1898. It replaces the helix with an inclined loop (basically just a steep helix) and replaces the turnaround with a corkscrew (or step-up under flip? I don't know anynore). But the rest is the exact same.
B&M needs snappier inversions, and this snappy dive coaster layout is a step in the right direction. I think that the next big trend after airtime will be the rise of positive Gs on coasters.
Everyone’s concerned about capacity. Dorney isn’t concerned about that. The park hasn’t gotten a new DESIGN since Hydra in 2005. The park hasn’t had a “Top List” of coasters in years because Steel Force, Talon, Hydra, and to a lesser extent Thunderhawk and Possessed share the “family appeal” over thrill. This is totally what Dorney needed: a brand new big imposing sight in front of the park again, variety that can stand next to Kings Dominion or even Hershey for a change, and something original. Not just plucked from a dying park and plopped as some last ditch effort for high schoolers.
They list the hourly capacity at 1140 riders per hour. That would require 54 trains dispatched per hour. With the ride time from the animation, this hour capacity is mathematically impossible, and this animation doesn’t even account for load and unload time. I’m still excited for Dorney and Dorney fans. This looks like an excellent addition!
@@officialchase02 baron also has an underground section, but yes, looks taller Indeed. Tho the first 3 elements are the same than Baron, same direction, everything
Looks pretty mid. No turnaround section in the air to take in the surrounding view, no pre-lift maneuver, no theming, no mid course/second drop. Only cool thing I see going for it is that corkscrew looking thing at the end. Is 95 degrees the steepest dive coaster?
Come on is that the best name they could come up with. Its not like a coaster is getting the iron horse treatment to make this ride. Its not referencing a past coaster irs not even an rmc. What the heck
Local here: Steel Stacks in Allentown/Bethlehem was well known for their shipments of Iron back in the day. They even made pieces for The Golden State Bridge. I think the name is a win for the people of Allentown.
I love how every coaster builder managed to guess the layout basically correctly
Yeah I’m very surprised
There were blueprints leaked
@@NorthEasternMotionProductions really I thought it was just footers that got leaked

That's a really unique layout for a dive coaster
It’s a beter version of Baron 1898 at Efteling 😅
its a litle bit look like baron no?
it's literally just baron but more thrilling

Why doesn't cedar fair focus on dorney?

Whats this about a Mack extreme spinner?
I’m glad Dorney is getting something new. It seems like a neglected Cedar Fair park in the past decade.

Hopefully Valleyfair is next

Good addition to the park. They really needed a new rollercoaster. I’m glad B&M are edging away from that standard dive coaster layout.

One of only two Dive Machines that use a continuous chain for the lift and the drop.

Can we get some baron 1898 style themeing
I love the background usage of RCT sceeams 😅😅
This was kick ass awesome. It is so lje Valraven at Ceder Point One of my fav there soooooo awesome
Valley fair is next for a new ride
Never been to this park! Great time to visit next year! 😍
Some is playing RCT2 at 1:17
Great fit for this park
Layout does look good. Could debate a vekoma tilt may have had a better USP.
Anyone know what app they use to make these coasters on?
Is it going to be 2 trains? I couldnt see 3 trains with how short this layout is
I wonder why cedar fair hasn’t Given another park a HANGTIME type coaster
OMG DORNEY PARK NEW COASTER!!
really short though
Valleyfair next?! 🙏
People will definitely be arguing about whether or not the inclined loop is an inversion.
Reminds me of Emperor at Sea World San Diego
LET'S GO ITS ROUGAROU 2

honestly, i agree
The name is not good but, for some reason, I love it

It takes 93 seconds for the train to navigate the course and has 2 trains so 1140 riders per hour is entirely possible with a 40 second load time.
second shortest dive coaster ever?

in America maybe
I think you're forgetting about Oblivion, Krake, Oblivion: The Black Hole and Diving Machine G5 😅

Baron 1898 with an extra corkscrew.
Yup

It's a tribute to the iron/steel industries that once dominated the region.

3 B&Ms
Talon
Hydra the Revenge
Iron Menace
So Emperor? Not really Diabolical level but we’ll see.

Hey....what's with all the Iron?😂
Allentown/Bethlehem has a factory called Steel Stacks which is very historical for the area. They might be playing off of that.

Steel vengeance son.
American Baron 1898.
Baby Yukon striker
