Sedaka should be better known for exquisite songs like this. The use of bossa nova, the lovely, romantic lilt, the lyrics..simply perfect. And it travels well through time....

I bought his best-of album, and was disappointed this was not on it. I first heard this song when he sang it on the Donnie and Marie show-that was awhile ago! I think it is an overlooked gem.

Speaking as someone who enjoyed this wonderful song on a vinyl 33 1/3 RPM record album, through a high-end stereo system with great speakers... There is so much missing in this digital re-recording, I cannot begin to tell you. I find that this is the problem with many of the (digital) CDs that were recorded from the (analog) master recordings originally made for vinyl pressings.. The sound quality is compromised.. from a little.. to a lot. For a true audiophile (like me), this is a crying shame! You did your best, and I thank you for sharing this here, because all my vinyl albums are in storage and I miss my music!

This is on the "a song" LP only as far as I know. There is a newer version of this song on "The Very Best of Neil Sedaka The Show Goes On". I Like it too.It has Neil playing piano on it.I just wish the "a song" LP would be released on CD.I think because it was on a different record able .That is the hold up.I have been looking to see if I can find more songs from that LP on Neil's CD compilations,or best of.

I wonder why this original version of this song has never been released on cd - to my acknowledge. Thank you for posting this song, although he has other hits from the 70's, however this song is my favorite one by him.
