    Once again, you've touched on an area in SF and fantasy that I never really considered. Granted, I think that for many when the question of education in SF pops up we default to Heinlein's STARSHIP TROOPERS. Of course, due to the controversial nature of that book, it's understandable if some would look at it as being a bad example, since the classroom segments of the novel are more rooted in the 1940s-1950s, even though the story is set centuries in the future.
