Rebels !!..dont skip out on this city - For those who miss salisbury and go straight to Stonehenge. Next Week il be checking out a seaside town that might interest you on a day trip from London and more in depth with price and opinions about the town😎
Such a lovely town filled with a magnificent history... What a beautiful video that have been captured so perfectly... The landscapes were so ethereal to see to the point that i just wanna be there to escape the reality... Thank you so much for sharing and letting the world to know how splendid Salisbury is ❤️
I lived in Salisbury for 5 years, that was 40 years ago. I was 19 years old when I first arrived in Salisbury. The city was vibrant, lots of shops, and the town was buzzing during the weekend. After 40 years, I decided to go down memory lane, so I made a trip to Salisbury to show my children where I had the most fun in my twenties in England. I was so disappointed to say the least. The town is almost dead, what a pity.
Beautiful video! Thank you. Salisbury Cathedral is one of the most beautiful in England--unusual in that it was built as a unified structure without a lot of extra chapels and extensions in different styles, so it has a particular harmony. The close is spacious and also beautiful. One small quibble: the name is pronounced Sawls-b'ri (short i), the first syllable rhyming with "shawls."
I've been to those places and really enjoyed it, I have a house in Sunderland and I often travel to the UK. This video was beautifully made, very professional and very informative, well done, you did a brilliant job!
We’ve just returned from a short break taking in Winchester, Portsmouth & Salisbury. I’m going to be blunt, Salisbury was a dump! I can understand why 50% of this video is shots of the cathedral and a few well framed shots of the river. The city is beyond tired and rundown. We were expecting more quaint like Canterbury or Lincoln but it was nothing of the sort. We found the town centre had almost nothing to see, you shared a photo of a lovely bridge over the river. We passed it, to the left was litter, graffiti and drunks. I don’t mean to be hard on the place but we were just SO disappointed. It was so bad if we had the option of cancelling our hotel we would of. Our only highlight was a pub/restaurant called the Chapter House which was lovely with great staff.
As I live there I'm going to defend it, but I will agree that there are some very grotty areas. The city centre might look humdrum, but it's worth taking a guided tour (on foot) as there is a huge amount of history which even the residents miss. For example the little chapel over the gate to the Close still exists, where Handel wrote the Messiah.
I'm so sorry you missed the real Salisbury and only experienced a pub and a new bridge to another pub. Your ability to be so rude and about our home is astonishing but tells us a lot. You seem to be prepared to make a judgement on flimsy evidence. You should HAVE (of?) gone home earlier as you've not prepared your visit and missed everything. You don't mention the beautiful cathedral, the catheral close, St. Thomas's Church which is older than the cathedral and has beautiful and ancient frescos, the vibrant market place on market days, the cathedral choir, the best in the world (you can go to evensong for a free conert of first class music), the Avon and its lovely walks, the water meadows, The Haunch of Venison a real pub dated pre 1320, I can't list everything it would take too long. I know Lincoln well and can show you graffiti, drunks and pubs, both good and bad there too. Lincoln has some areas with high crime rate as have all cities. Salisbury is on of the safest cities, small and welcoming. Congratulations on finding some of the only graffiti in Salisbury. You must have tried hard to add yo your derision.

@bobbybigboyyes I agree, I flinched every time he said it.😂
Took a day trip from London on our visit to England this past April. We absolutely fell in love with Salisbury. It was our favorite day of our trip.

Ahhh........SALISBURY...where Steaks grow on trees.
Why do you keep pronouncing it SALES-bury, when it it's actually pronounced SAULS-bury?
Nicely done, but it's not pronounced Sailsbury.

Be careful not to bump into a nerve agent.
It's pronounced like Saulsbury, Sorlsbury or Salzbury, not Sowsbury 🤙
Sowsbury? It’s pronounced Sawisbury and it’s a city not a town. Sorry incorrect pronunciation but beautiful photography.
