    Hi Chris, I've been researching this pressure washer and the entire unit is made by Briggs for Husqvarna. So - that little bottle holder and cap is designed for the Briggs & Stratton Wash Concentrate, 32-Ounce. Why Husqvarna didn't include that info in the box or operator's manual is weird.

    I just bought this from Costco. To your comment about the oil in the video, I've had a Husqvarna lawn mower that I bought new 6 years ago, put oil in it once and I don't even check the oil and the thing has run like a champ this entire time and through fairly good use these past 6 years (mowing my extremely large lawn at least once a week for about 8 months out of the year). Only thing that failed was the FWD electric motor but it doesn't phase me. The engine and blade have been rock solid. No issues. I haven't even had the blade sharpened and it still cuts like the day it was new. So, I do think their "gimmick" of just check the oil and add as necessary, is justified. Great video though. Thanks!

      Whenever the mower fails, just know that it could have lasted longer if you changed the oil

    I bought one of these pressure washer from Costco and I’ve read the owner’s manual. In the maintenance section they said that the oil has to be changed once a year. About the fuel, the only gas whit out ethanol is the premium gas from Costco. I’m delivering fuel myself in Toronto area in Canada, I have loads of experience in this, so you can trust me on this

    I just bought mine today and the owners manual does say to change the oil. The problem is that you have to run it dry WITH a water hose attached to the pump and water turned on. Then you have to take the dip stick out and tilt the machine in the opposite direction of the spark plug and drain the oil out of the dipstick tube, (really?). And about the bottle not being included is stated in the owner's manual. Mine also surges but it's a Briggs and Stratton engine made with foriegn parts.

      my manual shows the bottle in what is included... but it's not there. The plastic tubing and cap are there but no bottle. Ridiculous.

    I'm returning mine. The gun has no way to lock the trigger in the "on" position, which, if you're doing any job that takes longer than a few minutes, is a pain. It also locks in the "off" position every time you let off the trigger, so you have to slide the release button every single time...not so easy with one hand (for me), and just seemed unnecessary and annoying. If you're doing little jobs that take less than 30 minutes, it's probably fine. It seems powerful enough for most residential stuff. If you're looking at a long driveway or a lot of wood fencing or decks or whole house washing or paint prep, save up and go for something with a bigger gas tank, trigger lock option, an actual oil drain plug, a fuel shut-off valve and a better carb. Just my opinion.

      I don't recommend anyone doing this because you are defeating the safety built into the pressure washer trigger but I myself just use a rope rapped around the trigger with a very easy way to get the rope off with just one quick pull of the rope. I do this when I'm doing our complete roof pressure washing which takes hours to do. But it is UNSAFE to do it this way for sure.

    Dude, this is an awesome review! Just what I was looking for! Gonna get that shut off valve (was thumbing it today at Lowes, $8) -- easy install. Bottle issue is a pain, but easy fix (still scratching head over omission tho?); Have used B&S for many years (lawn mowers) with few issues (learn to disassemble/clean carb tho) -- but they are work horses; Great comment on functional obsolescence... very good point -- and we work around/with that with proper maintenance (and considering purchase price).
    Re- purchase price: I got ripped off at Costco (buyer beware!) having paid $350 last week! :-(
    Re- no pressure at first firing: dis/re-connect hose, bleed air/water (repeat as necessary), then fire up...worked for me.
    Re- hose breaking (not in this review)... concerned about this, but wondering if (for those i've read) they shot hard into the hose with the red spray tip?... I almost did, very strong etc.
    Anyway, thanks again.. very good. My intent is to limp this along for years.
    (but will return to Costo if it's a lemon...Costco is good in this way!)
    Cheers.

    Torn between this Husqvarna from Costco or picking up the Ryobi 3000 PSI/2.3 GPM with the Honda motor from Home Depot. Which would you recommend between the two based off your impressions of the Husqvarna?

    • @mazdaspeed-
      @mazdaspeed- 4 роки тому +1

      Both are good. Just don't buy Briggs and Stratton false advertisement that you don't ever have to change the oil. If you look deep into the owners manual it'll tell you how to change the oil. If it was completely unessasary they would tell you how to change it lol. Change the oil and both will be good. My dad has the Ryobi with the Honda. And I have this one from Costco. They both are very acceptable and similar performance. The one thing I like about the Ryobi is you can regulate the pressure while you can't with this.

    UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

    I thought it was working pretty good the first time I used it to clean front door walkway and driveway. The second time I brought it out to the side of the house to clean some siding. As I pulled it out and made a couple of turns on the grass, the left wheel cracked and now the powerwasher has a broken wheel and the whole thing is tilted. So it’s seems to be easily dragged on concrete asphalt surfaces but very hard to maneuver on an inch thick lawn. Wish it would turn and change direction like my lawnmower which I’ve used the same one for over 15 yrs without wheels falling off like this brand new husqvarna powerwasher. Will be returning this one today. Even though it’s still under warranty, a replacement wheel will be a recurring broken item. Now I realize there are way too many cheap parts on the model (plastic carburetor, plastic gas tank, cheap light plastic wheels.)

    • @Mr-Chris
      @Mr-Chris  4 роки тому

      You are so right, all of these newer power equipment like Lawn Mowers and Pressure Washers are built so cheaply compared to the older ones. It's like the peak of durability and quality power equipment was the Mid-2000's... Now they are built with so many plastic parts. I've been lucky with mines, but I am very skeptical on the durability of this. An other example is the newer Craftsman Lawnmowers... they are made of mainly plastic parts compared to the ones Sears used to sell back in the day made of mostly metal. They are still good quality power equipment out there, but at a higher cost.

    The axial pump blew on me after about 20 uses, I have used many pressure washers before and I take good care of my stuff. Never leave them running when I'm not using them, I noticed before I'd start up after about the 5th time I used it there was air coming out of the gun with the water when I was trying to bleed the air out of the lines before I started it.
    A week ago on the first pressure washer job of the season the unloader valve blew off leaving a Little hole in the pump. I tried to braze it last night but I don't think it's gonna hold, looking st a new pump after 2 years lol, I have a 15 year old Simpson water shotgun with the same general pump on it

    • @Mr-Chris
      @Mr-Chris  3 роки тому

      Most likely your carburetor got gummed up with something. It possible that it had some small debris from the factory and got logged in after running for a short time. Another issue could be a faulty thermostat that dosnt automatically open the carburetor when it gets hot causing it to run for a little bit when it's cold, but shut down when it's hot. Either way, Return it back to Costco. This must be a faulty unit from the manufacturer.

    Great videos on the Husqvarna Chris, I watched them both. I am getting ready to buy one. Costco is having a sale on them but it looks like they upgraded the motor. Looks like yours is using the 875EXi 190cc but this year its using the CR950 208cc. How is your pressure washer holding up? Update so I purchased it and was a little bummed on a few things. 1st it looks like it is now made in China or at least that is what the box says. It also says the engine was designed in the US but assembled in China. It only comes with 1 tip that is a 7-in-1 nozzle not sure how I feel about this. Still a great price though.

    I just set my Costco 3100 up and see in the manual not to use a water hose longer than 50 feet. Is this right? I was planning on using the 100 on my hose reel, if this is true, I will have to go and buy a 50, just for the washer. Not happy with that, plus the absent soap bottle that so many have noted, which is just plain dumb on Husqvarna's part.

    • @stur1692
      @stur1692 4 роки тому

      I was just researching this, and from what I've read, there may be slight pressure loss with a hose longer than 50 feet. But, as long as your house is putting out 3gpm at the source, the pressure loss is minimal, about 50 psi on a 100 foot hose.

    This pressure washer is close to having just a hose for pressure intensity. I felt the scouring was too weak when it could not shear off weeds in the driveway. So with the yellow tip on (manual says it is 15 degrees and 2800 psi) I carefully put my hand into the stream about eight inches from the end of the wand. It was soft and full spray, but not a cleaning tool for stone or anything else. I was replacing an old Husky 1650 Electric pressure washer whose wand cannot be repaired anymore. The Husky had more power. Hard to believe, but true. I wanted this to be a good machine but it has NOT got the power to do the hard work it is made for. Another trip back to Costco. Is it me or do other people think Costco equipment is like Harbor Freight? PS this thing drinks gas.

      @Mr-Chris  4 роки тому

      Wow, I actually have their previous Yamaha generation pressure washer that Costco sold and I feel the engine is better quality. As far as the pressure... I'm not sure but maybe you've might have a defective product. Comparing this pressure washer to my sun Joe electric washer... this thing is more powerful. I've actually chipped some concrete at 15 degrees. But I am disappointed with the engine on this.
      As for Harbor Freight, believe it or not their pressure washers are higher quality than this but much more expensive. I've been eyeing the predator 3100 for a few e.

    I’m looking at this pressure washer Vs the ryobi 3,300 psi 2.3 GPM pressure washer. And after your review I’m leaning towards the ryobi. This will be my very first pressure washer and after watching a few reviews I think I like the “ idol down technology” on the ryobi. Endless there are any other suggestions you or others might have. I have owned this machine for five months. Until yesterday it started and ran perfectly. I ran it dry yesterday and after refueling it ran about ten minutes and quit. The new fuel was about two months old but had Sta bil added. I drained the tank and put new fuel in. It started and ran about 5 minutes and quit and has refused to run since. I have cleaned the air filter and let it set overnight. Now, if I pull the engine thru with the switch in the off position 5 or 6 times then, turning the switch to the run position it will start and run about 5-10 seconds. Has anyone had this problem or have any idea on how to fix it.

I worked in a Lawnmower dealer for a couple years and those engines are not the customer favs. Actually, this deal is equivalent to buy at Sears the Craftsman trade line. I used to work at a body shop. Please don't ever pressure wash your cars no matter who tells you you can. If you have a chip in your paint the pressure from the water can go under the paint and pull up the paint and rust your car. I've seen it happen many times. Just hand wash it with garden hose pressure is the best way.
