  • John Wick Chapter 4 review joins Keanu Reeves as he returns to cinemas as the deadly John Wick. After John Wick 3 this movie could have gone either way, but for me, John Wick Chapter 4 is a huge hit, one I've already watched twice at the cinema. Despite being a movie with a 3 hour long runtime, it doesn't feel like it, and John Wick Chapter 4 is most certainly, worth watching.

John Wick Chapter 4 review, watch it, seriously. Everything Hollywood refuses to do, with awesome acting, great action, well paced with themes and principles worth standing by even if the people doing it are paid killers. But what did you think of John Wick 4? Are you planning to see it? How do you think it compares to the other movies. Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

That means there are still writers, directors, and producers willing to make entertainment that will be popular with the masses no matter how unpopular it is with the rest of Hollywood. I'm so glad you enjoyed the movie and your review is certainly going to encourage many others to watch it. Give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done! 🤩

Really the only difference between when EFAP, Disparu, Nerdrotic etc. talk about a good or bad film, is that I've seen the good film or TV series more often than not, but avoid the shit. Point is, those guys will get my click on their video regardless of whether the film is good or bad because I care about their opinions on something whether it is good or bad. The guy with the dog is in it to complete the trio. His arc doesn't quite land, but the idea (I think) is that John Wick is trying to get out by brute force, Caine is trying to get out by playing by the rules, and Nobody is trying to get out through money (watch the scene with the poker game again - it's all there).
Wick's arc lands because he does, in fact, kill his way out, Caine's arc lands because he plays by the rules until he presumably dies, but Nobody never gets his money so we don't know where his arc finishes. If Nobody had thrown down his weapons in disgust at the end, his arc would have been "Nobody wants to become like John Wick, but sees the pain it causes and decides not to become like him and get out while he has the chance."

I thought that Shimazu was just following the rules of the High Table. After watching the scene right before with Winston and Charon, I think that Shimazu knew there was a chance that the High Table would take Akira's life instead of his if they was brought to them. So, he gave his life for his daughter. Just because Caine was willing to spare them both, that didn't mean that the High Table wouldn't punish Shimazu by killing his daughter.
The added dimension of triggering Caine's humanity by showing the relationship between father and daughter is an interesting idea. However, I thought that Caine was already aware of the similarity with the High Table's hold over his and his daughter's life. Which was why I thought he offered to let both father and daughter live in the first place.

John Wich did diversity right, way better than every woke movie ever, without even trying to advocate diversity. They simply implemented all different countries with different locations and their locals. But instead of going the easy route, they decided to cast actors based on quality. Hiroyuki Sanda and Donnie Yen were amazing in this movie. Rina Sawayama too was quite a surprise. I didn't even know her but she was great. All the former actors too. Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburn or Ian McShane were real household names. But even the ones I didn't know well did an awesome job. Like Lance Reddick as the prime example. But also Scott Adkins, Shamier Anderson or Common. Wether they were already very well known or more or less newcomers, they were all cast perfectly. So well that I never ones realized or thought about their skin color or ethnicity. That's how you know the actors are great. If you are preoccupied with what they are instead of getting absorbed by their performence then you know the actors are shite. A great actor makes you forget all these unnecessary details. Becaue you are too immersed in the movie.

The audience is as exhausted as John Wick by the end, and I haven't felt that since Titanic in the theatre, where after three hours you were ass freezing as Jack Dawson clinging to the debris.

I don’t understand the hyperfixation everyone has on masculinity vs femininity. I wouldn’t say this film is a masculine film, it’s just a film… yes there are very masculine characters and I love that but there are also feminine characters and characters in between. At the end of the day though why does it matter? The reason Hollywood is so trash is because of the hyperfixation and polarisation of 2D and hollow values, constructs and so on. That’s what this franchise does so well, across the four films there’s such a rich variety of people who feel like actual people and not just paper puppets. That’s why I don’t understand your fixation on it being masculine either, you’re basically doing the same thing as Hollywood. This movie is good because just like it’s predecessors it was designed with love and passion to be a good movie with no contrived political agendas. It’s that simple. It wasn’t designed to be masculine or a reaction against Hollywood, if the characters are masculine it’s because that’s what came naturally to the writers and actors to serve the story. Same for the reverse. Masculinity and femininity are both two sides of the same coin, they’re not opposites as modern society would have you believe. There’s strength and balance and value in both. Yes I’m sick of Hollywood and media needing to strip men of their masculinity to uplift women, that’s just dumb. At the same time I’m sick of femininity being viewed as weak or emotional. This franchise gets it perfectly right because it allows the men and women behind the characters and involved in the script and so on to just do what feels natural and embody their characters. So please stop with this weird obsession with anti Hollywood this and masculinity that.

I have just seen the movie (and seeing you’ve made the review with such title of it made me to see it immediatelly before watching your review). And WOOOOW! What a blast! I have not seen such a good movie in a long time! For me, this is an ultimate action movie! The balance between enjoyable action and deep quiet in-betweens (well, sort of), perfect acting from everyone and tense atmosphere during the whole movie.
I have also not understood, why Nobody (tracker guy) was there, but I have enjoyed it. I have also liked, how John Wick choose to save his dog and that made the tracker guy reconcider what is he going to do - nice call-back to the first movie. But they have made such an interesting and fascinating trio together with Cain, I have enjoyed all their interactions, especially the card game part in German dance club. But all the characters were so well written and so well played, even the main bad guy - Maquize! And when JW shot him at the end, I have burst out laughing because of being so well done (especially after Winstons comment) and I was really amused, when the tracker guy did the same in the movie 😂
And actually, I would not mind if this would be the last movie. It felt like kind of happy ending for all main guys and seeing how franchises are being milked til dry nowadays, I would be happy with this ending. Unless following movies would be of similar quality, of course. But this has set the bar so high, that if this would be the last movie I have ever seen, I would be fully satisfied - like after very good, healthy, great tasting and fulfilling meal, you know the feeling :) And it feels kind of like Doom 2016 game for me, perfect balance between action, lore and characters and feeling fully satisfied when finishing it. But I would happily see it again :)
And yes, I was truly sad, when the character of Charon died, I have liked his character in all movies very much!
And John Wick character was written and played so well! He said so little, yet he was intense as f*ck!
Only sad thing is, that there were just few people in the cinema watching it, because it would deserve all the earnings of recent Marvel and Disney movies combined!
Sorry for the long comment, but I am so full of joy, that I had to share! I feel really great after watching it, while I don’t really understand it concidering how brutal it was. But it is perhaps as when you drag yourself in the desert and suddenly you find an oasis with crystal clear water :) So yeah, watch it , it is totally worth it! And perhaps it can send the signal, that well made movies wirh great writing is the way!

No. That was before they made John Wick 4 a 3 hour long film. Originally, this was going to be split between 2 films and then they decided to crunch it into one long film. That’s what you’re referring to.
No official shooting for John Wick 5 has begun yet, they don’t know if a John Wick 5 is even going to happen yet.
For myself I hope they don’t. Let John be dead, his quest and journey is done. These 4 films are fantastic. Anything more and we run the risk of overblowing this series. Do a spin off, fine. But let’s cap off this series on a high note, please.

I love the JW stories because everyone does a great job making this beautifully filmed movie a timeless classic with the Incredibly Nice Guy Keanu Reeves in the lead like a general on the battlefield. Every gun owner should study his moves, he makes ballet dancers look like clods in comparison.
