This Sokka is such a huge improvement on the M. Night Shamalan version - he actually _looks_ like Sokka, and he has both Sokka's appetite and his sense of humour - which was sadly lacking in Shamalan's movie.
This is a culturally appropriate cast. FINALLY! You should definitely watch the animated version. It’s a very engaging story of the heroes journey from multiple perspectives. I hope Netflix gets that part right. It’s not all about Ahng. It’s about all of them.
We should be getting another avatar cartoon of the Earth Nation avatar in like 2025 or 2026. We getting a lot of Avatar in the next 3 years if this show does well.

M. Night said he wasn't a fan or had even watched the show. It was his children who were the fans and that's the only reason why he took the job. He never understood it as a masterpiece of storytelling and artistry and a classic saga right up there with Star Wars original trilogy, loved by young and old. Underestimating it like he did, it's no wonder he completely failed to deliver on his film adaption.
Big Avatar fan here. I have the box set for it and Legend of Korra on DVD and have watched it at least 100 times with my kids! It will be WELL worth it to catch up. So far, everything looks accurate in regards to characters and bending effects. I'm very excited to watch this! (cough, cough! - I'm not going to be feeling well that day either!) LOL🤣🤣🤣🤣

If you haven't watched AvatarTLA, PLEASE do! 🤩 The cartoons are hard to beat! Its a beautiful mush of all the eastern and indigenous philosophies put together. The creators really did their research. Its a masterpiece 🙏🏾
