I would have agreed before I read #700. After reading that Spider-Man comic, I couldn't agree more. He truly is the most selfless hero in comics. The kind of dude who would die for anyone, even his enemies. If there was a even a remotely close second, I'd say it's DareDevil. He fights crime despite being blind, having low funds, and all odds against him.
Shazam would be a better choice. Even though he is on the same level or power as Superman, he still cares for the little people. He is truly humble to his core, because he KNOWS loss, he KNOWS what it is like to be at the bottom of a barrel. And even though he has justifiable reasons to being angry, he will give a second chance, that benefit of a doubt.
If we're being honest, I'd rather have seen the death of Aunt May in "One More Day" than MJ and Peter breaking up. It's not that I dislike May, and she's been a good character from the start (overall), but i think there would have been better storytelling had she perished in a narrative-driven way. It would have been a way to retire the character, give Peter and MJ something else to deal with, etc, without splitting those two up.
I would add to that, that just after aunt may dies Peter parker avengers her by killing the kingpin, then the kingpins estate puts a bounty on mj, while the avengers goes after spider man for the murder of kingpin. Followed by mj telling parker she is pregnant. Just put parker in a corner where he has to go to the next level.
Definitely. If Aunt May got to know about that and she is not written out of character, she would clearly be not talking to him for days. I think it could go to extreme where she clearly says him to not to come in front of her eyes. She would be blaming herself too that she didn't raised Peter to accept death.

Have you or Comicstorian made a video on "What if Aunt May dies instead of Uncle Ben?" If not, please make a video on it! Also, this was a great story, for some reason I like stories where Peter dies.
I'd ask where all the other heroes were when this happened, but then I remembered they were all too busy...being worm food. I can see now why Peter was doomed if his only backup was Iceman, Human Torch, and freaking Captain America.
Rob, great job. Im loving these 1 to 3 hour videos. I just finished death of spider man and superior spiderman within the last 3 days. Keep this up. I almost skipped over the anti venom part of this video, it was kind of annoying but im glad you installed it the way and where you did. It really explained how scorpion got the venom symbiote and i appreciated it from there on. Already watched age of Ultron b4 this about to watch captain America. What others fill stories do you have besides secret wars?
If someone sees this comment later: No. It probably took him a long time to get this all together and he most likely used a program which automatically cuts "silence parts." Even then, just for the sound, he had to do lots of editing. Cutting the silence parts for better contiunity is something most podcasters do. Though I find Comics Explained's way of doing it very "aggressive," because it feels TOO fast. He cuts the silence parts and on top of that he sometimes just speaks fast. I'm not a native English speaker but I'm still pretty good enough to understand like %90 of what's he saying but when he starts to speak fast and the silence parts also cut out, I have to go back and listen again to what he is saying. Considering this video is 3 hours long, it gets tiresome. I'm not sure if there is a setting that allows you to set how much of the silence parts will be cut, but if like another half of second is left there as silence, it would be much better for the ears.
Straczynski didn’t write Brand New Day. He left at One More Day. Everything between One More Day and Big Time was write by 5 or 6 rotating writers, including Dan Slott. J Jonah Sr extra wasn’t Strazynski as you said, it was those rotating writers.
I actually enjoyed Clone Saga. It was creative and brave, if not very well planned-out or organized. At least it didn't invalidate everything that came before.
@@robdcollector2808 I felt like they robbed me of all the Spider-Man stories I grew up with. All the time, energy, and effort pursuing those comics felt like it was for nothing. Not just for me but also for my Dad, I guess, when he had Spidey comics as well.
Shocker having six arms WASN'T s throw back to the doppelganger Spider-Man. It was a throw back to "The Six Arms Saga" story arc from Amazing Spider-Man issues #100-102 (1971). This featured the first appearance of Morbius, The Living Vampire.
There is a mistake in the video. At 17:42 of this video, the narrator mentions The Amazing Spider-man (TASM) # 121, The Night Gwen Stacy Died was written in 1971. The Comic was released in June of 1973, not 1971. The writer could have written the storyline 2 years before because anything is possible. I was 11 years old and read the comic back then when it was released. I was kind of sad when Gwen Stacy died. I didn't watch the entire video as I skipped certain portions of the video because it was almost 3 hours. In the video, Rob mentions the upcoming movie Spider-man: Homecoming. The Tom Holland (TH) Spider-man Movies and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are set on Earth-199999, not on the Marvel Main Continuity on Earth-616. You can google it for confirmation. That's why Ned Leeds and Betty Brant are Teenagers in High School as opposed to being older working at the Daily Bugle. That's why it's acceptable Flash Thomson is on the debate team, not the Football Team and is a "Nerd" Bully instead of a regular jock being a bully. And why Michelle Jones is MJ, not Mary Jane Watson. Now I don't know yet if I'm going to go see or care to watch any more MCU movies. Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson probably won't show up in the TH Spider-man MCU movies. Do I care to watch movies about an alternate universe? That remains to be seen. In all the years reading Marvel Spider-man Comics, it's amazing how different writers in different eras and stages of the TASM storylines have created serious discrepancies. I won't refer to the other Spider-man comics of the time like Peter Parker The Spectacular Spider-man, etc.. In TASM # 122, at the end of the comic in the epilogue, Mary Jane (MJ) decides to stay and comfort/console and love Peter Parker/Spider-man concerning his loss. This was expanded in TASM # 365 in the segment "Remembering Gwen Stacy". From about TASM # 43 (the 1st appearance of MJ) until Gwen's death in the aforementioned marvel comic, Mary Jane was a rival for Peter's attention and love but lost to Gwen Stacy. In TASM # 143 MJ and Peter kiss for the 1st time before he leaves on the plane to Paris. From there until TASM # 183, they're Boyfriend and Girlfriend until MJ declines Peter's 1st marriage proposal. Then from about TASM # 200 in 1980 or so, until TASM # 239, in 1983, MJ's not in any Spider-man comics, and Peter is on and off again with Felicia Hardy. In TASM # 257, MJ confesses to Peter, after his battle with the Puma, she knows he's secretly Spider-man. That's why she left NYC in the 1st place. Is that the real reason she declined Peter's 1st marriage proposal? It's never clarified if it was or not. Then MJ finally accepts Peter's 2nd marriage proposal in TASM # 292, after Felicia Hardy exposes herself as crazy with her revenge scheme against Peter with the Foreigner. But then Black Cat professes she fell back in love with Spider-man again during the scheme. At the end of TASM # 289 Spider-man leaves Black Cat in his apartment and the bottom caption reads "The Question". I thought he was going to ask Black Cat to marry him not MJ,. I bring this up because retcons, relaunches, and "hard" and "soft" reboots have consequences. In the Untold Tales of Spider-man # 16 in 1996, it was retconned, MJ knew Peter was Spider-man basically from the beginning. Then why isn't she more sympathetic about his disappearances from TASM # 144 to TASM# 183? Dan Slott (DS) and Joe Quesada (JQ) wrote the two worst storylines in their tenure as writers for the TASM Comic, IMO. "One More Day" (OMD) and The Superior Spiderman were terrible storylines. When the Superior Spider-man, Storyline ends, and Peter is back, Peter can't explain how he got his Doctorate and is accused of plagiarism and his Doctorate is taken away and he loses Parker Industries over time. Consequently, we're back to Peter struggling to make ends meet again.after the TASM "Big Time" storyline. So how were JQ and DS any different than previous Spider-man writers? I never liked them as writers especially DS for OMD. When DS wrote OMD, he changed the whole history of Spider-man from 1987 to 2007, voiding all that happened during that time. In the "Original Sin" 2014 Storyline with Nick Fury, the Watcher is killed by the Orb and supposed all he has seen is given to the Marvel Superheroes about their lives including Spider-man. This also doesn't make sense. Does Mephisto, who takes away Peter and MJ's marriage to save Aunt May, have the power affecting a god-like being like the Watcher? It doesn't seem feasible to me. So when Spider-man receives all the Watcher has seen about his life, won't the marriage be acknowledged or Mephisto must be that powerful. Like I said these retcons or certain storylines affect previous storylines leading to consequences creating plot holes and "loose ends" in those previous storylines. The best example of a retcon, even though it's a non-Spider-man story is the finale of Samurai Jack (SJ) Season 5. In the finale, SJ and Ashi go back into the past where SJ was sent into the future by Aku in the ist season of the series after Ashi overcomes Aku's influence in the future's present and now back in the past, SJ kills him. This was the worst finale because that voided all of SJ's adventures he had from Season 1 through 5. The least Genndy Tartakovshky (GT) could have done is have the 3 Gods Odin, Ra, and Rama give SJ Ashi for all the sacrifice he endured and for finally killing Aku. I think Fans of that show were just as outraged with that finale as most TASM Fans were outraged by OMD, IMO. I heard in the DVD of SJ Season 5 GT presented an alternate ending with SJ and Ashi being together at the end and GT regretted the Season 5 finale. I never confirmed or denied if that alternate ending exists or not. I don't think OMD was just divisive, I think there was overwhelming outrage by a significant majority of TASM Fans including myself after catching with the Comic. Currently, TASM Vol. 5 has Mary Jane and Peter Parker/Spider-man back together. Regarding "Renew Your Vows", it was another alternate universe where the storyline's purpose was to address and pacify the fans' outcry over OMD. Now Mary Jane and Black Cat have their own comics too. I still don't understand why the Black Cat is still an important character in Spider-man Comics. Why does Peter get so nervous around her? Can't the writers present something else? Either be with MJ or don't. I'd like to see an alternate universe with Spider-man and Black Cat together as a power couple, married, and having kids. That was another missed opportunity by DS, where after OMD he could have put Spider-man and Black Cat together instead of all these teases. I think Spider-man and Black Cat together would be an awesome comic in an alternate universe. 25 to 30 issues should cover it. I wrote to Disney/Marvel about this but received no answer. Again, this long comment is only my opinion. Thanks for reading.
02:14:28 Jesus.......if they were trying to make Mary Jane look intentionally ugly then they succeded 0_o Kinda ruins whatever serious or epic tone you were going for when her face looks goofier than the giant spider mutations crawling about

One thing i don't like about superhero relationship is the tired, "You Lied to Me!" junk. When is the right time to reveal such an epic secret? Obviously when they gain enough trust, but at that point, the response is "why didn't you trust me!"

I love your story telling style brother!!! But damn could you fit any more commercials in!!!!?
Have you or Comicstorian made a video on "What if Aunt May dies instead of Uncle Ben?" If not, please make a video on it! Also, this was a great story, for some reason I like stories where Peter dies.
Dude you do great work. Thank you and thank you for getting rid of the whole sexy voice thing. It was a little creepy.
Always have you on thought the day and night come to think of it. Rob is a vital part of our daily routine. Keep up the great work.
I enjoy the long videos, just not the 37 ads an hour
This man is living in a mansion like seriously. Keep up the good work!
loving these full story stuff lately. you are the best rob !
Did he record this in one sitting? Was there even a script like holy shit he’s going full throttle.
3 hours of story. Thank you Cosmic Jesus! (aka Rob)
CE just found your youtube.
Probably have watched 15 full movie comics!
Love it man! Big thanks!
Spider-Man Back in Black full story pleeeeasse
I swear you make this convoluted stuff make so much seance, I can actually buy a new comic and not be alienated by what I see lol
One more day is less divisive and more universally hated and regarded as one of the worst comics ever, probably worse than clone saga
I don't mind not being married in it of itself, but it was so stupid and terrible
Kyle Pietrusiewicz ....i felt cheated reading that story line
Is it just me or does Batman #50 feel rather One More Day-ish

I don't feel so good... :(
simbadg13 lol
🤬🤬🤬
How is OMD “divisive”? I don’t know a single person alive that defends OMD.
Haven't marvel undone the mephisto deal yet?
@@jadak100 I think they "undid" it by having MJ and Pete just end up together in the new timeline. Super annoying.
Rob man you have quickly become my favorite content creator out there
Man can we get a video about optimus and Megatron? The origins of the feud?
I just wanted ti say that Romita Jr. and Bagley are my favorite Spidey artists.
I just like their art styles. That's it!
02:14:28 Jesus.......if they were trying to make Mary Jane look intentionally ugly then they succeded 0_o
Kinda ruins whatever serious or epic tone you were going for when her face looks goofier than the giant spider mutations crawling about
The Scarlet Shepherd I'd still smash.
Dragon Armada same
That's a Ramos for you. Check other of his "masterpieces"
Don't forget she's fighting civilians and protecting civilians at the same time. Also she has Spidermans power, that shits awesome!!!
Completely agree.
I just can't stand the angular and exaggerated style.

Normon Osborn the the only white guy to have waves
Google John Oxendine
One thing i don't like about superhero relationship is the tired, "You Lied to Me!" junk. When is the right time to reveal such an epic secret? Obviously when they gain enough trust, but at that point, the response is "why didn't you trust me!"
Oh please tell me the hand & the foot clan have met at sometime
Squirrel Girl not getting a proper run with good art is a crime against humanity
Does anyone else just say the intro with him or just me

When your bomb takes too long because it's daylights savings time
Spider-Man is actually one of the best street level close combatives with such a flexible and unpredictable fighting style...I read that in one of the old Spider-Man comics...err, old school one from the 90s.
Also I am so tired of marvel bullshit of keeping peter Parker and Mary Jane separated I want them back as a couple
Tevya Smolka fuck that hot mess.
agreed like come on marvel throw us a bone here and give us back peter parker and mary jane as a couple
Tevya Smolka Then write a fan fiction or draw your on comic. Let the story develop as it is.

English is not my first language, but when you said "his spidersense is what allowed him to dodge attacks" I understood "to dodge a tax".
Which would also be a very nice superpower .
Can you cover more Moon Knight stories
