    So the bike was stock except the exhaust and the filter. Wondering if the crank case has been vented. Good vid, thanks.

    Do you have to dyno tune your bike if you get a ThunderMaxx , I have a Power Vision tuner installed now with just a stage one , but I was wondering if the ThunderMaxx had to be dyno tuned to get the most out of it or is the dyno tune is just to show numbers

      No the thing about thundermax is you either plug in a tune made for you and turn autotuning off or keep autotuning on and the more you ride it through all the rpm's and all the gears the better tuned your motorcycle will be because you giving it data to learn and tweak, putting it on a dyno just makes it so you don't hafto take it out on the road to autotune

    What would the numbers have been in 5th and 6th gear respectively? Thanks for your professional insight.

    I need to fool around with my throttle settings. I have a smushy lag where I first hit the throttle. Nervous to start messing around with the details

    Video says they are out but that must have been a prototype. Haven’t seen any on the market. Can’t wait to get my hands on one.

    So I have a Thundermax and when coming to a stop it will idle down to say 1100 and hang for 4 or 5 seconds then fall to 944. It dose not do it all the time but enough, any suggestions to check, there’s no air leaks, checked and changed all seals. Bike has a red shift 472 cam and tuen from zippers.

    T max is a great tool no doubt but it’s really a waste of money unless your continually changing parts and upgrades. These type of videos are great informational tools as well but CS like all other shops push a product or service to gain business and kept the masses chasing performance. As shown in this video the gains are minimal and it’s all at the top end of the rpm range. How many of you ride above 4K rpm and for how long? If you’ve got a m8 107 or 114 a good cam,pipe and tune is all you really need to make 100-130 hp and 120-130 tq. And if you pick the right parts and tuner you make the power between 2000-4500 rpm where a majority of us ride. That’s your sweet spot imo!

      I want to make the right choice and not waste money, when you say tune do you mean a dyno tune or something like a fp3?

    • @ricko9879
      @ricko9879 Рік тому +1

      Rarely does a dyno tuner run the bike throughout the rev range in different gears etc, where most people ride. Dynos are generally for bragging rights. Tmax learns and adjusts according to your riding style. I've never had a dyno done on a bike without a Tmax that has run as good as with one. Can't believe how much money I've wasted on numerous, supposedly good dyno tunes...all they care about it a zero to wide open throttle run and the print out numbers

    • @MarvFitBikesKicks
      @MarvFitBikesKicks Рік тому

      @@ricko9879 so you’ve done a dyno tune with your t max or just running your t max alone?

    • @ricko9879
      @ricko9879 Рік тому +2

      @MarvFitBikesKicks simply install it, load the base map and off you go. It'll optimise air fuel all by itself. Dyno is a complete waste of time

    It’s nice after 10 years see someone making a video on TMax. Your camera is to far away to see. Instead of using your camera to show the app you should either get closer so we can see or use an app that can record the screen as you use it.

      I wanna know what is good fuel ratio. Cuz thundermax base maps are 13.5. And that seems rich to me for idle

      Once you disconnect the stock tuner, the UPS man will pull up immediately and deliver you the void warranty letter to you as your holding the wires in your hand.

    • @CMFS101
      @CMFS101 Рік тому +2

      They will Flag it but they will still need a statement in writing on why they won’t Warranty. They also have to prove the T-max is what caused the issue needing Warranty. This also needs to be put in writing and give you a copy. If they don’t want to give you a statement in writing for the denial of warranty you can file a complaint with the FTC for violating the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The shops try to scare people but knowing your rights scares them.

    How do you build a map?

    • @CMFS101
      @CMFS101 Рік тому +1

      You start with a map that is close to what your bike has on it. Cams, intake, exhaust injectors. Then hook the TMax to bike and run write to module. Take it for a auto tune run running through each gear fully. Read Module from there you should see some markers red is where the module is supposed to be. Green is where the auto tune ECM thinks changes should be. From here you have a couple options 1) you can write fuel adjustments letting the program do it for you. 2) You can turn Auto Tune off and go through each of RPM curves on each cylinder and move the squares 1 at a time. This will customize the tune since you can change AFR’s vs Temp, RPM vs TPS. You can also advance the spark either way. Unless you really understand this type of things I suggest not going route 2. I personally have never tried to manually change full curves, AFR and more that’s above my pay grade. I really wish there were more Dyno Techs that are able to use ThunderMax. I can’t seem to find one that loves to tune ThunderMax the ones I do find always say they can but prefer another Tuner. It’s a shame ThunderMax doesn’t have more how to videos for people like me. ThunderMax videos made by the company are 10+ years old. Unfortunately I’m pulling mine because of the lack of video resources on how to. Even this guy used AutoTune on a 40 min ride then put it on a Dyno. If you call or email support they say more Auto Tune runs and the tune will get closer to a good tune but a Dyno Tech will be able pull every last HP/TQ out of the motor.

      @@CMFS101I’m running into the exact same issue. My eyes hurt from searching videos for someone who can actually do a Dyno tune and explain the process on the Thundermax. My tuner uses power vision and is frustrated with the Thundermax after making fuel adjustments and the modifications didn’t save in the map.
      The bike runs good, but my tuner showed me spots he’d like to add fuel to get more power, but isn’t familiar enough with the software to make those change’s permanent.
      I have a Thundermax on my twin cam bike and it runs good, but was on there when I got it.
      This M8 is a fresh build. I assumed the Thundermax in auto tune was constantly mapping and applying the changes. My tuner believes that those changes aren’t applied until someone does it manually. Is this true?

    I think it's a really good product, but very expensive I have a 128 zippers going in right now I have one of the best if not the best master Harley Davidson machines doing my install likes using the tts tunner and 1/2 the cost and can keep all my programs for Stereo and R DRS system and my cooling fan from Harley Davidson and has speed limiter at 168 but all and all I think they are both good but wanted to go with what most Harley dealers like to work with so if on the road and need to stop at dealership to get something fixed because under warranty for 5 more years that even includes my aftermarket big bore kit along as dealer does the installation but if not for this I would have done work myself and put the thunder max in both good tunners
