interesting video. I am 57 years old and was born and raised in the U.S. state of Minnesota. My father always told me his parents, my grandparents, were all Swedish and spoke Swedish but were born and raised in Kronoby Finland. After a DNA test I found out I have only 2 percent Swede in me lol. I am half Finnish. my grandparents were indeed of Finnish blood and the family goes back hundreds of years in the Kronoby area. I have cousins there. I would be very interested to see if I can get Finnish citizenship by descent. Any idea? hope to hear from you. take care

    Oof, this video was discouraging...
I just obtained my Citizenship to El Salvador and am working on my Mexican one now via a parent. What can I do for my two kids already born in the US and getting them citizenship to Mexico? They're really out of luck?

I just tried your link and Mexico was not an option for ancestry. Again, I will qualify but from your video, you are saying my kids will not. What would be a solution for my kids to get citizenship?

@@isthisforme8127 You just have to register your kids births either at a Mexican consulate abroad or at a Mexican civil registry in Mexico. Mexico amended its Constitution in 2021 to remove the '1st generation born abroad' rule, so your kids are now considered "mexicans by birth".
The info in the video is wrong.

The information in the video about Mexican citizenship by descent is incorrect.
Thanks to Article 30 of the Mexican constitution being updated in May of 2021.
      Pre-May 2021
“Mexican nationality is granted to those born abroad to Mexican parents.”
      Post-May 2021
“Mexican nationality is granted to those born abroad to Mexican parents, grandparents, or ancestors without generational limits.”
For more information, see Article 30(A)(II) of the Mexican Constitution.

In short? Yes, your kids can absolutely be Mexican citizens no matter where on earth they were born.
