    On ESPN radio, they had a WNBA analyst on to discuss who was ROY after Angel Reese got 15 straight double doubles and Caitlyn Clark got a triple double. The woman discussed their accomplishment to that point and very similar records on the edge of the playoffs. She then said it should be noted that Caitlyn went to an up and coming team that already had Aliyah Boston and made the playoff last year. Angel went to a team that was in transition and struggled last year. She has come in and led a turn around. I thought why did Indiana have the #1 pick? Turns out Chicago made the playoff at 18-22 last year and are 10-14 this year. It was Indiana that was 13-27 and started 1-8 this year before going 10-7 to the All Star break. So ESPN broadcasted this misinformation to fit their argument for Reese, no?

Consequently millions of dollars more to the WNBA .. which btw WNBA has just sealed a multi-billion dollar network broadcast deal to show all WNBA games, which is directly because of the Caitlin Clark effect.. let alone now all the teams are being flown Charter planes instead of commercial .. because of Caitlin Clark

    CC is rookie of the year but it's not a bad thing that people are trying to give Reese her props. The college rivalry has a lot to do with it too. Curious to see them on the same team for the all-star game.
    Also - a lot of the so-called bullying and trash talking CC has gotten can be paralleled by things that have happened in the NBA.
    For example, Taurasi's disparaging CC reminded me of Shaq talking junk about Yao Ming, after which Yao embarrassed him in their first game. Nothing out of the ordinary at all.

    You got one things wrong, Dan, the attention is entirely because of Caitlin. How many times has Metoo, or any other player, sold out arenas across the country? How many times have teams had to move to larger areas before the W's Savior came to their town? Did you see how many people didn't show up for the Ace's championship parade? Stop trying to conciliate Metoo's fan base and just tell it straight. Caitlin is the one-and-only reason the WNBA is now getting the attention they say they have always wanted, yet the reason for leaving their golden goose off Team USA was pure politics. That is an iron clad provable fact.

    • @vcracing
      @vcracing Місяць тому

      Two things - first, the reason the fever got CC as the first pick is because they are the worst team in the league (by definition); second, one person can't win in a team sport and she can feed her team all day but they have to hit their shots. If CC played on a decent team, her assist numbers would be 20-30% better.

    As we've seen, jealousy runs rampant in the WNBA, and if she went to the Olympics now, I have no doubt she would end up injured...most probably by her own team. She will shine for the rest of the season and then take a much needed break to rest up, strengthen up and get ready for a new season where she will undoubtedly break any remaining records and set a few new ones if any are left. Hopefully with a new coach.
