He is believed to belong to the Awá people. The Awá tribe have been described as the world's most threatened tribe by the NGO Survival International, which has tracked killings by loggers, who surround and encroach upon the group's territory. Their existence has been called into question by commercial interests that want to move into the land, but the new footage has been cited as proof that they remain in the territory

These peoples hearing is totally intact. So they can hear footsteps very well. Also, they rely on their senses for food which modern society people don’t in the same way.
I was just waiting for one of those arrows to fly by the camera.
Andrew J I was waiting too. When he had dipped over, I thought he was reaching for a bow & arrow.
They were reaching. I think the cameraman raised his hands to show he wasn't a threat so they ran

Same to be honest. Here in trinidad they are very few people that go into the amazon from the venezuelan rivers. i’ve heard all kinds of stories

He used two of his five senses - seeing and hearing. Or, are you saying he sees dead people?
Brock Albert never had the feeling of being watched and you were right? Happens a lot with some people.

" uncontacted" is a misleading term. These tribes have contact with other Amazon tribes that they trade with. That's how they end up with steel machetes. The uncontacted are not *governed* by the authorities in the countries that they live in.
i think they mean uncontacted as in not yet bothered by the modern world, lol.
Nothing misleading about it. also, pretty sure they mean uncontacted as in uncontacted with the modern world. also also theres other ways of foraging steel besides trading.

Many people like the Amish prefer to live lives without modernity. These folks know that Civilization exists; they like what they have and trade with their neighbors for anything modern that they want, like steel machetes.

Amish selectively embrace modernity.
Bart LeFart - Who said leaving isn’t an option for these tribespeople? We don’t know that. Also, respectfully, I feel like you’re downplaying the fact that once an Amish person chooses to leave, they typically won’t be welcomed back into the community they left. They can leave, but as a consequence they’re essentially ostracized.
