I’ve noticed a theme in several of the characters that Idina Menzel has played. They make a bad decision and end up hurting the woman they love the most (whether it’s Maureen’s girlfriend Joanne in Rent, Elphaba’s best friend Glinda in Wicked, Shelby’s daughter Rachel in Glee, Elsa’s sister Anna in Frozen, or C.C.’s best friend Whitney in Beaches) then they realize that they were wrong, ask forgiveness, and reconcile with her.

When you sang this at Carnegie Hall, it meant the world to one of my friends. He really needed to hear it and you are an idol to him. Thank you for helping him get through this Christmas, and feel loved even just for those 5 minutes

Because apparently, a large majority of the "youtube community(?) or whatever are too young to know anyone who isn't Ariana Grande or Demi Lovato or Selena Gomez or Taylor Swift. Nothing against those girls but it's just sad how teens and younger kids these days don't always care about or are so unaware of performers who have inspired their favorite artists. I feel so old saying that but I can admit that as a 27 year old, I grew up being a huge fan of performers way before my time like Judy Garland and Reba McEntire and Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett and Donny Osmond and The Beach Boys. Maybe I was just a mature teen. lol

My God.....just heard her sing at the Rockefeller special and burst into tears, my mom just came in my memories. In these special days when everybody reunites for the Holidays; her special days, I can see her in the kitchen making goodies, our traditional puertorican foods and putting up the table with that gorgeous smile of happines knowing the house would be filled with family and friends. I love you mamá, I would give all I have and more just to have you in my atms and hug you again even if it's less than a minute. Her songs and music videos deserve so much more views. I'm so glad Frozen and Elsa made me discover this gem of a female musician. After seeing this arrangement, my father immediately started a translation/adaptation to Portuguese (we're from Brazil) in order to sing with our choir at church. Believe me: It's not a simple task to conciliate translation (the central ideas) and melody. Now, he has 99% of the translation/adaptation done.
