IMHO - Killing Pedro, and eventually, his children was applied pest control. Needed to be done and someone had to do it. No rules in war or vengeance. No rules, no guilt. Loving ABBY was a given.
I was reading an NCIS/Supernatural crossover where Hernandez and Kyle Boone come back as demons and plot to have Gibbs kill Sam and Dean Winchester by murdering the team and framing them for it. The plan fails, Gibbs and the team are saved by the two and the team actually exonerates them. In the latest chapter, its NCIS versus Boone and Hernandez. As Dean gave Gibbs Ruby's Knife they win and Gibbs gets to kill Hernandez (and Boone) AGAIN!!
From watching the series and Gibbs retelling the story by personal belief is the reason he screamed is because it didn’t make anything better the pain was still there even though he killed the man who murdered his family and that is why he screamed because it did not make anything better

Vengeance doesn’t fixed that hole in your heart, it only makes it bigger and eat you up inside until you can’t recognize yourself anymore
