  • Because different types of substances require different instrument settings in order to achieve optimal drying results, you can modify the drying temperature, the switch-off criterion and the drying program.

    But for daily routine procedures you should only need to press two buttons: TARE and START.
    If you want to change the drying temperature, press the temperature button and scroll up or down and finally confirm the chosen drying temperature.
    You may also want to change the switch-off criterion from automatic to timed switch-off, and select the desired drying time. To do this, press on the “Time” button to adjust, change to “TIMED” and press “confirm”.
    These are the most commonly used functions of the HE53 and as you can see, it’s really easy very simple to use.
    You can also select between two drying programs: STANDARD drying and RAPID drying.
    Rapid drying overshoots the selected temperature for 3 minutes, which is ideal to speed up the measurement time for substances which have a very high moisture content.
    The display shows all of these selected parameters: drying temperature of 120 degrees, drying time of 5 minutes and in this case rapid drying program.
    Five different result units can be shown: % moisture content, % dry content, absolute moisture content, absolute dry content and the weight loss in grams.
    If you want to print out your results, you can connect an optional printer using the RS232 interface on the back of the instrument.
    Enter the menu, scroll to “Print” and confirm that printing is on.

    is there any difference between version 53 and 73 ?

      Yes there are differences between HE53 and HE73. The two biggest differences are the method memory and the maximum drying temperature. HE73 can store two methods (A & B) and can dry samples with a drying temperature up to 200°C.
