Hey I'm an electrician in Canada. To me looks like the NWS pivot bolt is a little loose. I'd tighten it up a little see if it cuts cable properly if it does fix the problem I'd take the nut right off put some blue loctite on the threads and tighten it back down to the same tension that worked. I hope that fixes your issue and that's completely ridiculous on such a high quality tool.
I've got a ton of knipex including a version of those shears which are a bit more slim. Right now I'm eyeballing that pair of felo. I cut a lot of cable at work so I'm always on the path to the perfect tool.
Hello, I recently bought the new knipex stepcut cable shears. It is only 160 mm in length, but is powerful enough. I think the fine serrated cutting-edge is weaker. On the knipex one there is no serrated edge. The steps are more bigger, and they can cut conductors one after the other. They have bolted joint. I recommend the knipex even if they are more expensive.
how difficult is it to tighten the only bolt on these NWS cable cutters? There is nothing wrong with the blades.. There is a natural crome scratch but nothing more
That's quite disappointing that the NWS lost their 'clean cutting' after a month. As Bob said, they do look a bit too flappy and loose suggesting the pivot bolt needs tightening. Did you inadvertently use them to cut a steel cored cable?
Hey, thank you for your impressions about it. I just bought this one and mine does not have this problem, maybe yours have the problem that the guy said above. I will do a review in my channel with it if you want to see how they are to compare to yours. Thanks again for your video.
could you please tighten the only bolt and try it one more time? NWS is an old and authentic manufacturer producing product with high care, so it would be a loss of reputation for them! Maybe your defected shears are covered under warranty so you can send them back to inspect it for manufacturing faults. But indeed according my own preference, Knipex makes better tools in almost the same price.

It worked just fine for a few weeks, after that the blades where already dull
Heard good things about the new Knipex step cuts. Haven’t tried them myself though

Hi. For info, Felo don't make pliers/cutters. They are made by NWS. So Felo shears will be the same as the NWS in this vid.
