Amazing beautiful Faroe 🇫🇴 islands. Thanks for sharing and filming. Greetings from beautiful tropical Hawaii islands ⛵️ 🏝
Brings back memories when I played music at Torshavn back in 2007 very near the harbour. I met a German/English couple that have just came from Iceland in their sailboat. The German skipper was a professor researcher doing studies I think on the water changing temperatures on north pole north from Svalbard for a year together with her. She wrote a book about their yearly stay in a hut up there called: Champagne & Polar bears-Marie Tieche
I can only imagine Winter...hope you show us how you keep your boat warm....brrrrrrr.
I just love your apparent ease, the way you use time to explore and dig in to people's way of life. Hard work behind the scenes, I know. Lovely to watch. I live in in my boat in Bergen in Norway, so your exploration of Torshavn will help me one day:)
Tórshavn is a lovely city and it is such a treat to have such a centrally located place for visiting yachts. Though you live in a beautiful city as well. I'm sorry to say we've not been to Bergen yet, but it's on the list! We sailed down the coast of Norway after we were in Svalbard, but we only went as far south as Kristiansund. However, our friend (and former crew) Éanna has told us wonderful things about Bergen. Next time we'll go for sure! -M
@@drakeParagon see you then!
I always enjoy your videos. Your editing and music selection just keeps getting better all the time. I thought the music you used while walking in the neighborhood was so relaxing and pleasant and fit the mood of the video perfectly. I appreciate the time you take to make your videos so enjoyable. thumbs up!😎👍
Wonderful to watch, and times just fly when I follow along with your exploration, and then I realize the episode just finished. I guess you could say you are total "with you" in your incredible adventure. Love it. Cheers.
Thank you. 😊 I've always loved "A Day in the Life" videos, and that's what this felt like to me. So glad you enjoyed the episode and we love having you on this adventure with us. -M
Informative AND entertaining....as usual! Thanks for sharing 😁
Ah brilliant, thanks Bill!
Hi guys. I'm a new (S5 & S6) viewer, so maybe this has happened before, but the switch to Monique in front of the camera in this episode really worked. Monique has great timing on her delivery.
Haha, your encounter with the sign at 15:03 reminded me of the time I rented a car in Munich and learned, the hard way, the meaning of "Einbahnstrasse". It was a little embarrassing, doing a U-turn in the face of a wall of oncoming traffic on the broad multi-lane city street.
Oh no! 😬 Heh, I had a friend ask why I looked both ways on one way streets, and it's because I have made this exact same mistake. I learned just how quickly I can back up and turn around in that situation. 😆 -M
You should see the Greek ship captains of the large ferries that go from one island to another in Greece. These are massive boats. They can turn these boats around like a car. t is quite something to behold, especially as a passenger. I love your Faroe Island videos, because the place is on my bucket list. I love the pure Faroese wool, it is such a delight to work with. No doubt I would buy a suitcase's worth if I visited.
How cool, I would definitely love to head to Greece one day and look forward to seeing those captains manoeuvre the ferries. They do it with such ease that I think many people don't realise the level of skill involved. And you better bring a bigger bag when you head to Faroe. SO many cool knitting and wool shops! And knitting gatherings. And knitting workshops. You'll be in heaven! -M
You guys are always my feel good, fun to watch vloggers. I've followed since season one! I don't know how you don't have millions of followers. So well recorded, you put in such good information and the dialog is fun. Well done as always 👏👍
great stories! can't wait! on 27 i will go to the Faroe Islands for my birthday!
Heh I almost saw you but I was busy at the mall! Now I’m back in Denmark
Great little explore. Looks a lovely place. Andy UK
Andy, it is so lovely and very walkable with a million little places to tuck into and explore. And I love that the city buses are free. If you walk to the edge of town and are tired you can easily hop on any number of buses. Take care and I hope you're a bit drier than we are at the moment. 🌧🌧🌧 -M
Thanks for the fun video and for the look at life in the Faroe Islands. Fair winds!
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed! Definitely more to come! -M
@@drakeParagon I am definitely looking forward to more videos from the Faroe Islands!

What a great video. Like being there. If you stay the winter when will you have to leave? Safe travels.
Another great video.
Thank you

Oriental
P.S.
My wife and I were at Klaksvik when we were at the Faroe's.
Thanks Sam, glad you enjoyed. Take care in Oriental! -M
Excellent stuff, as always. Thank you for sharing your travels.
I was there in the summer of 2019, You need to explore the rest of the Island......It is so beautiful.
So incredibly beautiful. Even just the bus ride into Tórshavn felt magical. Ha! Who knew public transport could feel magical? -M
@@drakeParagon You need to go to Klaksvik, there is a nice internet cafe there Frida's. excellent food. You can then take
a ferry to Kelsoy, There is also a nice hike up a mountain on Vidoy in the town of Vidareidi.
@@jamesscarborough9545 We've been to Klaksvík several times, but we've never checked out Frida's. Definitely putting that on our list and thanks for the suggestion! -M
Awesome vedio thank u for sharing
Hvitanes small village but beautiful ocean and stuff
I love that the ocean seems to be just around every corner in Faroe. Beautiful indeed! -M
Great video as always guys. Thank you. Loved your walkabout town...looks lovely. Did you eventually decide to move the boat over?
Yes!. :) We were there during the national festival, where much of the country goes to Torshavn to celebrate. It was fantastic to have our boat there right in the middle of the festival, andI think it will be a wonderful upcoming episode. :)

Did you find out how much the dockage was for the winter?
We didn't actually get a chance to get to the harbourmasters during this trip Sam. However, I've heard it's quite reasonable to stay the winter from some and expensive from others. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Heh, not super helpful I know.
Nice. I think they are called Folk boats that style. Why pay $63 to walk on a machine. When you walk to get to the machine and burn calories to walk and stay warm? Just a question. Thank you be safe
For a place like Faroe that gets a lot of rain and snow in the winter, it can be nice to have a place to go exercise that is cozy and dry. There can be a lot of ice on walkways which can make brisk walking or running a challenge. Plus taking a shower off the boat can help a lot with preventing moisture. We also like to join a local gym/sports centre to meet people and get involved in local area. Just another resource if we're thinking of staying in one place for the winter.
We do have ways to exercise on the boat, and perhaps we'll make a Paragon's Favourite Stuff episode on that, but a gym is a nice option too. 😊 -M
I like the way the clouds just hang around the hills in the morning.
How do they mow the grass on the roof?
Me too. As for the roofs, some people trim the grass, usually with a weed wacker of sorts, and others don't. And then, of course, you'll see the occasional sheep that has found it's way on a roof. 🐏🐑 Usually on a house that is nestled into a cliff. Rather funny to see. -M
@@drakeParagon sheep ahh its organic
@@MrRourk 😆
I have been on the boat of min 11, the one with the amazing u-turn....the captain just gave us a ride to Nolsoy, didn't even charge us....remarkable in many ways xD
Takk! Nice! :) Whenever we have friends visit us in Faroe we always taken them on a trip on that schooner Norðlýsið. We also filmed a wonderful interview with the crew while we were underway with them going to a grotto concert. I can't wait to start editing that footage someday soon.

@@drakeParagon oh so you're still living there?!? How is it, did you manage to get integrated with the locals? Does it ever get boring? 🤩
@@BarbarooTheKangaroo We've spent many full summer seasons in Faroe, and it's one of our favorite places in the world because we've made such wonderful friends there. It's definitely never boring. :) Were were in Faroe all of last summer, and then sailed 250 nautical miles south to spend this winter in the Western Isles of Scotland. But I can't wait to sail back to Faroe in the spring! :) I hope you'll enjoy all of our Faroe Season 6 episodes. Takk fyi! :) ua-cam.com/play/PLOhEGypVYJG1AKzFNvEuYQBdOlG2P3l8L.html

@@drakeParagon Indeed, I have just discovered your channel and it looks like I have a lot of catching up to do!😁😁 Thanks! 😌
Awesome vedio's
Love place. Does the library carry books in English?
Hey Connie, they do have some books in English. It wasn't the largest selection, but they were there. And the library staff is incredibly helpful and nice. There is also a wonderful little cafe near the entrance and some nice tables on the bottom floor of the library where one can enjoy a drink and pastry and work on the computer or read the newspapers and magazines there. It's a great place! -M
That is awesome!
my big question do they mow the grass roofs?????????
or do they keep goats on the roof????
maybe Rudolph has a snack on Christmas Eve?
are the library books in english?
why does moe carry a pool cue on her backpack????
the mind wobbles after watching the video so many questions.
Ha! Okay, here goes.
1. Some people trim the roofs (with a weed wacker or manual trimmer) and others don't.
2. Occasionally a sheep will find it's way onto a roof and hilarity ensues.
3. Unless, of course, Rudolph is bulking up for Christmas. Then he makes the rounds and everyone gets a bit of a trim.
4. Yes, there are some library books in English. And magazines and other reading material. And they have a good selection of iMacs available for use (for freeeeee) and some of the fastest internet I've seen. Anywhere. (seriously fast)
5. You never know when a shark needs to strike. (Just kidding, I'm crap at pool...but enjoy it none the less.)
Let me know if you need more mind stabalising answers. 😊 -M
...did I mention the internet at the library is fast?
@@drakeParagon thank you now my brain is overfull of virtually useless information last time it was bad see when my head is too full information has to leave so my head doesn't explode last time I forgot the proper order UNZIP PEE SHAKE it was embarrassing and wet fora couple of weeks
Looks like a cool modern spot! Of course I think I know where you ended up but I won't spoil it for those watching the series. Is it Torshavn? mAyBe?! Stay tuned!!
Ha! 🧐🧐🧐
Hi Drake. I noticed your radar is on a fixed bracket mounted to your arch. Did you consider a gimbal/swinging/leveling type bracket, or are they not worth it? Great video as usual. Thanks.
Hi Della Jean, I haven't researched much about self levelling radar dome brackets. I wonder if they would greatly improve reception. I am pretty happy with how well our Furuno radar picks stuff up when we're sailing offshore. If it ever breaks and needs to be replaced then I'll check out the self levelling brackets.
Hi Drake, thank you for answering my question so quickly. I’ve asked this question to cruisers I know as well as many of your UA-cam colleagues. So far all are using fixed mounts with no problems. Might be some benefit to the swinging/self leveling type, but I’m beginning to think it’s more of a marketing pitch than a real benefit. Thanks again. Only a coastal cruiser here, but really enjoy your channel. Thanks for all your doing.
If you haven't already done so you should listen to a Faroese singer-songwriter named Eivor Palsdottir. She will blow you away!
Did you decide to take your boat here?
Absolutely. :) It's such a wonderful city. And we were there on out boat during the national festival, where much of the country goes to Torshavn to celebrate. It was fantastic to have our boat there right in the middle of the festival, andI think it will be a wonderful upcoming episode. :)
