Dude the song was so sick even immortal cringed when he was asked about this song I feel everyone should listen to this song it show the darkness of the street and this was one of those song where people won't tell you just listen and get your reaction love ma man tech them old head were on a level of rap that can't be touched today
Not just gangs in particular. But society as a whole. Everyone wants to fit in and would do anything in the moment of wanting to be accepted from this group or tht group , until reality hits them and see they caught in a hole they ain’t gettin out of
I remember seeing this album cover at hip hop site in 99. I bought just cuz of it. I didn’t realize what a gym I had. When I heard dance with the devil , I tried not cry. I cried a little cuz it was so deep and the imagery was real cuz I understood what greed was about not grom only whst I’ve done, but the greed of why some of my friends and family are no longer here with me

First off how does an Immortal Technique/American Cholo interview happen?! Okay i dont know if anyone is even gonna see this comment or bother to read it but... On the low, i have always taken this song seriously as it just genuinely sounded like it was from personal experience. Whether or not it was a true story from someone elses perspective or entirely fiction or a straight up confession in the form of a song, i would have believed it whatever the case was. No judgement or anything and i mean the point i am driving at here is that the song is powerful and despite the twisted nature of what was happening in the story, it is very very real and to my knowledge there is nothing else quite like it. Now the reason i say that ive always been under the impression that the song is....the real deal..is because of that line where he says something like "the story that im telling is true, cuz i was there when billy jacobs and i raped his mom too" I KNOW that those are probably not at all the correct lyrics lol but for the record, thats what it sounded like to me and honestly i never checked the actual lyrics i just kinda rolled with it
he threw that in there also “he prolly standing next to one of you at my shows” to make it even more impactful but he wasn’t actually there. but it is based on true events with certain things changed

crazy to see even himgetting tense when asked about that track ... probably the single most impactful piece of hip hop I ever listened to
0:28 his body language and just the way he said that he could actually take you to the building where the story happened is eerie and haunting.

The "Love Story" sample makes Dance With The Devil even darker on top of Tech's lyrics.
People don’t understand that a song like this a brutal but it’s the reality of that gang stuff everyone thinks makes them hard.
Real men have families and a good home to raise them in.
Bro that rape initiation thing is a 1/1000000 most initiations don’t even involve a murder

Some songs just need to be made. Took a year, but will be remembered for a life time.
Dance with the devil is the stuff of nightmares. It shocked me.
I watched "why rappers stopped writing" a couple of hours ago. What a contrast. Thanks for real art, even if it hurts!
I cant wait for the full interview
This is the hardest story line I've heard in a while

He raw storytelling type of rap reminds me of a venezuelan rapper called canserbero. Just pure storyteeling without too many gimmicks or tricks
My mom put me on to him 🇻🇪🇻🇪
This rap tune was from the heart. I respect this man a lot he been through a lot.
WOW! I would've asked about "You never know" also.
That's one of the saddest and depressing songs I ever heard.
I had the physical copy of the album back in the day. He said it was fictional. The album cover was dope & it came explanations of every song
@IncredibleJavier What did it say about that?
So if a song of his can take a year to write, then its no wonder "The Middle Passage" had taken over a decade.
He can't top his previous work is what I'm guessing. I be waiting too lmfao. It's not coming out

Why the hell would he make a song admitting to it if he actually did it??? Did Eminem actually lock Dre in his basement as well??
Disagree, his decision to make himself evil in the song just added a lot of weight and realness to it.
