    I'm Greek Orthodox, and we're taught that the Copts are our brothers and sisters. We don't really learn of any division; we pretty much go to any Orthodox church we want. We can even take communion in a Coptic church.

      Allie S it's very nice that the Eastern Chalcedonians (Greeks, Russians etc) share many similarities, but the problems lie in the schism of Chalcedon. That's why in the anathema liturgies of Eastern "Orthodox" they condemn the Orthodox Churches as "monophysites" when in reality they were the ones who accepted heretical Christology. We even have a saint, Saint Samuel the Confessor who is usually depicted tearing apart the heretical Tome of Leo, which is dogma in Eastern Chalcedonianism.
      I think the best path to unity would be for the Eastern Chalcedonians to reject Chalcedon and their councils after and come back home, just like St Acacius of Constantinople and St Anthimus of Constantinople did many centuries ago.

    Number 3. is just generally Egyptian or Middle Eastern.. no matter of religion
    Number 3. is just generally Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and East European
    (also, what's wrong with the numbers?)
    Number 2. is again mostly Middle Eastern, East European, Asian...
    Number 2. is known for so many cultures (every non. anglo-saxon)
    Number 1. not typical Coptic, again, typical for many cultures

    • @pefs8789
      @pefs8789 6 років тому +8

      Daddy Yes, but contrary to what the others said, we are not just Orthodox Christians. We are Coptic Orthodox Christians. Like someone else mentioned, "Coptic" literally means "Egyptian." So this is the Egyptian Orthodox Church. Why does it matter? There are many different Orthodox Churches. We are in communion with some of them, and not in communion with others. For example, we are in communion with the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and the Syriac Orthodx Church, because we are all part of the Oriental Orthodx Church, a group of Churches with the same beliefs. We are not in communion with the Greek Orthodox Church and the Russian Orthodox Church, because they are part of the Eastern Orthodox Church, a group of Churches with the same beliefs as each other, but not as us. So yes, you can convert, but don't just go to any Orthodox bishop and tell him you want to convert. Go to a Coptic Orthodox bishop.

    • @dimostychalas9716
      @dimostychalas9716 6 років тому +1

      Pef S In my country we learn that all kinds of orthodoxies, from armenian apostolic to coptic are the same. And it is, its juat the change of language and songs, wich are effected by traditions and cultures not the beliefs. So any orthodox priest will accept any other kind of orthodox priest. Exept if he is a fanatic, wich then you can contact the archibishop or someone higher in the higharchy
