Katelynn gets 5 stars! Never any hesitation for the assignment, smiling positive attitude all the way through with proper technique on gas and brake. Couldn't help but recall these are the types of situations where Lizzy shined as well so I bet she would be proud of Katelynn. Awesome teamwork, recording and editing. Peace!
Yep. He has women on the team for all the sketchy stuff. They always come through.
Love Katelynn, she is one impressive young lady. Can't wait to see what monumental task she tackles (conquers) next. That was a very technical recovery, well done to the whole crew.
How kaytlin just managed driving without sliding from the seat etc in such a steep angle without panicking is wonderful ❤🎉 she had the toughest job today
Wow!! All of you did great!! Katelynn is very brave and an excellent driver!!! Love you all ! God bless you
Yep she has nerves of steel, I would be freaking out big time sitting in that thing. Well done all.
Who’s the throttle control queen? Maybe rock crawling should be a part of drivers Ed.
The term for that sliding down the hill on your feet maneuver is 'glissading'. You use it a lot in mountaineering and in glacier work.
Funny, I was going to call it defying gravity. 😁
I still miss Lizzy.

The MORR crew shined on this rescue for sure. You guys are the best.
That was INSANE! The whole crew had nerves of steel, but on this job, Katelynn not only had nerves of steel, but hers were encased in titanium! 🤯🤯 And Matt was firing on all cylinders as the team leader making all the calls. This job was about as dangerous a situation as I've seen on this channel. I wanted to stand up and applaud. 👏👏👏
THAT was " ONE " of " THE MOST" exciting Recovery's !!! 😮 That's why I watch !!! Classic 👍
About as crazy as the blue f150 that went off the ledge and they had to let it down with the winch.
Something the Wrecker could use, in particular for situations where sideloads act on it like this, is feet. Like two stabilizer legs that take it off its suspension and put the load on directly into the ground. Wouldn't even need to be hydraulic, basically an A frame, but to spread the load. When not in use, it could be stowed away inside the arm. It's basically just linear items.
We call those, "outriggers" where I'm from.
IMO, it would just add weight and potential things to hang on rocks on the wrecker, which is already heavy. The wrecker has to be both agile and secure, which it is already.
@@JLewis1979 There are offroad versions of outriggers, where you add bottom legs when you need them. They do not hang on anything. And yeah considering how soft suspension is on this it would need them.
Yes outriggers
here we go again..more input from the online keyboard builders🤦♂️😂
That was exciting! That narrow shelf road made it impossible to place vehicles higher and get better angles. Matt's brain was smoking there working out the angles and the positional changes! Great job, Guys!
Talk about another great recovery off the road in this Chevy! What a team Matt has with the Moorvair, Big Wrecker, KaitLynn, Jake, Kolby, Kaulin and Matt. They get the hard recoveries done and safely! Good video!
OMG......SCAREST VID TO DATE !!.....great job by all.... Caitlin just proved to me she's got "nerves of steel "...very impressive !!!!...... the whole recovery was orchestrated amazing by Matt !!
Wow! This one had my heart in my throat! Gotta love Katelyn and her nerves of steel! That crazy angle at the end😮looked so precarious!
Another great recovery!
I have a buddy who bought a 2017 GMC pickup. It had all kinds of "safety" features. He asked me to drive his truck one day to help him with traction control. I won't get into to much about the computer BS. But as I was driving down a lease road. Some sort of safety braking applied itself. The truck literally pulled me off the road to the right, from hitting a puddle. It did it again to me on the ride home. 100 percent convinced the truck was defective. Buy 2018 he had hit multiple ditches, and the final incident pulled him into a ditch where he hit an approach and launched the truck only to have to come down nose first. Another friend with the chevy version, but same vehicle never had that problem. New crap is just that. Crap. MORR is doing it right with old stuff!
Used to drive an '08 Chevy 3500 service truck in the oilpatch. Pulled the antilock fuse and threw it over the fence which I almost hit after sticking the nose in a ditch at a T intersection. Had several close calls on rough dirt roads, the computer simply couldn't deal with washboards and the like. Sometimes it just would not stop or even slow down much.

Yeah, ABS and traction control B.S. is ok for many people but not for certain conditions. Throw in wet pavement, bucket of loose gravel and sand the driver s SOL. My experience with the traction control and ABS in my newest vehicle was just a surprise the first time. The latest one not so much of just a surprise but during a battery failure event.
I believe what you are refering to is called "Stabilitrak". Basically, if you get into a sideways skid, it applies the brakes in order to straighten you. Depends on a lot of sensors, the computer, and the anti-lock brakes. It is a disaster waiting to happen.
I had a 2015 GMC Acadia with stabilitrak. We were at the Charlotte NC motorspeedway during Christmas. They put up a "drive through" Christmas light display at the track. Part of the course you are actually on a portion of the speedway. I got too far up the bank and the stabilitrak engaged. Had to pull over to the side and shut the ignition off for a short period of time to reset everything. Stabilitrak is a bad idea and a royal pain in the @$$.
An example of why you call the professionals!! Fantastic recovery job Team MORR!!
Matt's intuition in anticipating situations is priceless.
I am amazed that it is looking more and more like manipulating than anticipating.
Each team member really plays their role well and Matt's an incredible coach. Good job MORR!
The presence of mind to film the backup camera - yea Katelynn is calm under pressure
5:50 yeah I'm gonna guess driver didn't have his belt on, and the pre tensioners fired with the side curtain bags. Belt looks tight as a drum....
Now THAT makes sense. Good deduction.
My thing is that I don't understand why the side airbags deployed. It doesn't look like it took a hit on the side.
@@JLewis1979 I don't know much about those systems, but I thought maybe the vehicle thought it was going to rollover due to the angle it went off the edge? I've no idea if that would trigger it tho, just a casual observer
Your guess is wrong. Regardless of pretensioners, being at an angle like that will activate the ratchet mechanism and it can only spool in at that point. Once you get on level ground and give it a shake it will start working again. Same thing as rear seatbelts do for carseat installations.
That was super technical, really impressive and glad everyone remained safe... and those are well earned snacks! ❤
It was good to meet you all on 10/14 during the tour. Your channel has been so good at sharing info for me, being a new off-roader. Keep up the good work!
That was an interesting recovery. Matt, you have a great young team who listen well. Caitlyn you rock for getting in that truck.
Katelyn's control on the throttle was fantastic!!!!
Way to go MORR team!
The director and camera team may get a call from the academy. Nice job with the camera work and play by play, the angle of the pickup truck, wrecker tire, with Matt's cool reassuring tone and Katelynn's perspective was awesome.
2:27 priceless view of the truck
That's why I still watch..... content like that is what hooked me first time
Must say, this has been one of my favorite recoveries yet. The technicality was insane. The wrecker's 4 wheel steer definitely played a big role in its stability. Matt used his knowledge and the capabilities of the rigs excellently.
A tool that could come in handy with recoveries, especially for the banana and morrvair, would be steel portable ramps or chock blocks for when you need lift or bracing while winching. Depending on the ones you get, you could even use them as a redirect point, which could also make getting that downward pull-point a breeze.
Having been heavy self-propelled artillery, there were only 2 ways to get lift on a track for maintenance: the M88 using its crane or pulling up on chock blocks. Those things never failed. Even when we had to railhead the tracks for deployments, we used the same ones on the wood bed of the train cars. We had to use tanker's bars or sledgehammers to remove them because they dug in so well. Just a thought.😊
There is a reason why your channel is so awesome, and that is, no-body does it like Matt's Recovery.
1:28 You should have yelled out the window, "Hey, you can't park there" :D
What a beautiful state!!! That river was amazing
Ya know, if I were Kaitlyns parents watching this, I probably would've panicked, had a heart attack, a stroke afterwards, then when she came home, grounded her for being way to brave. Until she was 40 something. 😂. Way to go team. You guys have the most amazing talent at what you do.
Just watching this scared the crap out of me. Caitlin has nerves of steel! And Matt and his entire crew are very safety minded pro's. I binge watch these and other recovery channels. They are all good. I love it when different channels team up and work together.
Us viewers as we turn the corner: man I hope nobody hits that corner too fast one day.
Matt turning the corner: man i wonder why people don't go over that corner like I need them too. 😂😂😂 Matt always hard at work. Love you guys.
now that was sketchy as fudge, props to Katelynn for having the courage to get in that truck during the recovery, great teamwork as always, thanks for sharing
4:27 "But for Matt's Offroad Recovery, this is just Tuesday."
You can really tell that Kaitlyn wasn't worried at all in the truck, the lads had it locked down in her eyes. Great work everyone, stay safe on your recoveries!
Lizzy to Katelynn: “when you can take the pebble from my hand Grasshopper……..”
Everyone held their emotions at bay and concentrated on the task at hand! Katlin has nerves of steel!
That looks CRAZY steep! That's what it looks like Caitlin. Such a good job Team MORR!!!
Wow!, Guys that was a great team effort recovery. 🙂👍🇮🇪
Great job, all you guys. Katelynn was perfect with throttle and brake. This is the "A-TEAM" and I'm not kidding, you guys/gals rock.
Kudos to you. Katelyn ! You showed no fear! Handle it like a pro! I've see grown men that thought they where tough and couldn't do what you did! You made us proud. As you can see in the comments.
LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL !!! LOVE THE SHOW !
Lady and Peanut seem to have a great time supervising!
What a management, what a team and the rigs! Great job and absolute pleasure to watch what a recovery pro Matt is.
Kudos to the camera guys - it's like i've been there myself.
And Katelynn is just great, always with a smile
This is a MasterClass in communication and execution in your craft! Amazing work Team MOR!
Katelynn has always been pretty impressive in what she can do and what she does do, but this episode put her in a new light in my eyes and a much higher pedestal. That recovery was almost to the point where some1 shouldn't be in the rig, and was taking safety too far, especially with nothing substantial to stop it, if it kept going. I sure hope that wrecker goes nowhere until that rope is replaced, but I know that you never do silly things..... Matt.
The backup camera view was AWESOME!
Katelynn is such a sport. Damn she 's good.
Good Morning. Thanks for the ride along. God Bless
Definitely one of the most technical recoveries I've seen you do. Awesome!
If i was doing that wrecker job, i would have done nothing but call Matts off road recovery! Great job !
Great job MORR Team😊❤ Kaitlyn nerves of steel young lady 👏👏
Great job Matt and Crew 💪👏.
That was an impressive recovery. So well executed. Great job everyone.
Matt, thanks for taking the crew out for snacks after the job🎉Well deserved!!
Kaitlyn deserves a bonus after that. Most stressful recovery I’ve watched!
Katelynn did a great job of controlling the power and braking during the recovery.
Matt, I think having the wrecker pull one from the hitch, and one from the middle of the frame on the passenger side, and Kaulin pulling from the frame just under the driver door might have balanced it better and helped it rotate, but it's really hard to tell on video just how steep it was. Good job on getting it out!
Great job!
I don't know if it is a trick to side hill rescue but I was taught to pull up the slope at an angle. In your case the Wrecker could have been 50ft forward, and the Morrvair hooked to the front tire area. Break over angle sideways is advantageous. Basically straight up along the path the tires were on when you got there, with the Morrvair pulling the front up once the rear tire got on the road.
Not saying that you did it wrong, just that I would have done it differently.
Jake was definitely used correctly in this one. Thanks! 🎉
Yup I agreed on the out riggers. And still say a wheel lift device would be amazing. It be easy to try. A round tube to set in the existing pintle hooks, V off that swivel an H off that to set the front wheels in. Car dollar wheel webs to hold then in. Use a winch to lift it or install a hydraulic cylinder or actuator to raise and lower. That would eliminate the towed vehicle from crashing in to you. If that works then upgrade to a repo unit with automatic articulating arms for quick get aways
That would have been one heck of a scary ride in the dark!
Katelynn the courageous! Of course climbing under a truck to connect up to it is courageous too! That was amazing!
Caitlin remained cool as a cucumber, I would have been crapping my pants.
Y'all had my nerves on edge on this one!! Intense recovery!!!
Matt you have a great great crew and Kaitlin FIVE STARS FOR YOU 👍👍👍👍
Wow!! I'd been screaming like a baby if I was in Katelynn's shoes!! Top notch recovery MORR crew!
Awesome recovery! I was sad to have this episode end. Have a super fun weekend 🎃
10:09 the Morvair has a strong Jonny 5 vibe to me. NO DISASSEMBLE!
Ha anyone already said that the hood of the wrecker look happy? Like at 00:45 it smiles at you.
Needs some googly eyes 🤪
Kaitlyn deserves a raise and a bonus!
OMG Katelynn has nerves of steal!!!!
Have you thought about adding some sort of outrigger support like a mobile crane uses. maybe just a telescoping pole with a pad on it to support the rig when pulling sideways. those tires seem to be able to take a lot of abuse but a simple outrigger could increase their lifespan.
Let's see if Matt has any comments on this if he does a questions and answers part on the next couple videos
i know that was hard but you guys made it look really easy! amazing job
Awesome video!! Matt, why don't you build a plate with a pulley which you can park your front wheel onto the plate and run the rope through the pulley to create a down pull on the car... Hope that makes sense.
Nice work crew. Matt, no victory pie? That deserves a double!
Impressive work! Can't imagine the trust it takes to be in that truck.
Head under the truck hooking up to the front had me feeling sketch..
That job was pretty intense. Good job everybody!
My back door would be so puckered up! Great work Katelyn!
I have loved watching Matt initially acccept then embrace the winches the way he has.
Matt's off road really gets them out and up!!! Well done, like the snacks.
Drone shots are great. Appreciate you using them
Excellent recovery MORR team!
Mission successful 🙌, blessings from 🇨🇦. Awesome all
One of if not the most impressive recovery I've seen.
I've been thinking about this problem of putting outriggers on the world's largest off-road wrecker rather than having four,I believe Matt could get by with two of them that will deploy on either side that will help solve the problem of extra weight , sooner or later matt will get a recovery job where he can't anchor to rocks nearby
Kate did great! Very exciting to watch. I love Jakes comments, a lot of enthusiasm. Super Job MORR team. Hi Jamie! Go Bills! LOL
Well done, thanks for taking us along.
Fantastic recovery. Always enjoy watching this channel.
Amazingly well done. That was really sketchy there at the end. Nice work.
Definitely to many cold ones
Wow that is very much like what you had to do in New Mexico. And what Bobby Leyton did with that worn out Ford wrecker truck. Living where I live we have had wrecked cars in Va on the Shenandoah National Park, and George Washington National Forest. Same issues. Getting them out is very difficult. So we understand ya. Be safe
Wow best camera work you guys have ever done! I can’t believe how brave and beautiful Katlyn is , I feel all proud like she was my kid!
That recovery was impressive!!
Good morning 🌅 and what a great challenging recovery!
This guy is like I was tired I'm a betting man I will say to many Coronas. 🍺🍺🍺🥃🥃
Don’t Drink & Drive kids.
Never been so happy to see a vehicle level out!! Whew!
