I have this exact same monitor…the power button light just alternates to on and off in a continuous cycle…and the screen remains off.

I have two of these monitors. I use them for my MAME arcade cabinet. Whenever one went out I replaced it with the other. Neither of them are working now. Turning the monitor on and off and they work, but only for a second. I got like 12 minutes into this and had a stripped screw that I couldn't get off. Then I saw the minute and a half of FWD stuff. Ooof. Think it is time for another $100 monitor. Thanks for putting this together. I hate electronic waste.

Don't like the method of bezel removal. Place a flat piece of plastic between the glass screen and the the flat blade screw driver.

I have the same monitor and mine just started doing the same thing, it would come back with a hard reboot, then it wouldnt come back and I changed the hdmi cord and it was fine for a week, now its doing the same thing, only this time when I put a new hdmi cord, the monitor, made a few funny flashes then the screen looks like a bad reception tv, so I guess its time for a new monitor

Now I have seen this I will go for a replacement monitor. My HP 2009V has just stopped working. That's 14 years. I'd say that was a good product for lasting so long. I have done led back lights on LG TV(successful) and also a 55 inch samsung (not so good as Iy replacement individual led lights. They didn't match). I will look at replacing it then attempt repair on the old one. These units could have been made a lot easier to fix but its all to do with costs/profit.

My old LG 1718S has this problem.
    Switched on:
Displays LOGO: briefly shows Online screen and switches Off!
I also notice small sparking on 9 pin Shell, when connecting.

update : I have the same computer monitor model and I had the same problem because the screen would go black after 5 seconds , all I did was take out any usb and film video card out , I unplugged it for 10 seconds while the screen was on and plugged it in again and the screen works , I'm not sure how long it will work but it works but I have the same exact model , the HP w2207h , all I did was unplug it while it was on and plug it back it after 10 seconds

Thought the monitor cutoff problem was mainly related to bad condensor or capacitor. But is there another cause such as ccfl like you shooted here? One of my monitors has same problem now.

I tried. Replaced blown caps. Resoldered the stupid connecting wires. Checked the CFL tubes. Put it all back together. Twice. One green line, one red line, one white line. Threw it all away. Oh well.
Thanks for the video. It was very helpful.
