The notes feel like a warm blanket engulfing you in their moderate tempo and with every beat you sink into a state of infinite happiness. As you depart into sleep your mind opens up to infinite possibilities. You think to yourself, “Music can do great things to the mind”, and you are right.
My goodness!!! This is such a superb performance! The tender and sensitive pianism, along with such vivacious and exciting musicianship is a rare treat to behold in piano four hand performances. WOW-WOW-WOW!!! Thank you so much for sharing this recording.
Back in the 60s, this was the lead off tune from the BBCs Listen With Mother, on the radio. It permeated my young life. One of those gateway drugs into music.
I remember it. The programme was known in our family as "Dinky bells" from the chimes at the beginning. I can still hear the voice saying "The time is a quarter to two. Time for Listen with Mother".
Oh ! I’ve listened to this record so many times! I wish I had such a clean copy, mine is totally ruined! Thank you so much for sharing this with us :-)
I love this music, actually I'm playing it myself - but I've seen much better interpretations. I find this one to complaining, to such an extent that it becomes tasteless. Such a waste to my mind...
