You can use a scrub brush to scrub your brick wall! It works great! Then just wipe it clean after scrubbing with a cloth

Probably repeating a lot of comments, but here goes: 1) put the wagon wheel over the bookcase, 2) you really need to wear a mask when dealing with that much dust, 3) I like long videos, but you can speed up some parts (laundry maybe) and use wordless music, 4) first vacuum the bricks with a brush attachment on the hose then wash with a brush you would use to clean car tires, 5) yes use concrete nails for hanging plaques/awards. Sorry, this was just how I took notes while watching 😂 not meaning to be bossy…just suggestions. You are really kicking dirts butt! 🎉

You are doing an amazing job! I’m happy to see you opened the window. Then the dust can go outside, while you’re cleaning…that way you’re not breathing it into your lungs. I think curtains would look nice. They add such warmth to a room. I had blinds on my windows and took them all down, because they were dust magnets and the slats break and don’t look nice. Curtains can just be taken down and washed a couple times a year. You made the mantel look SO nice…Brad will be happy I’m sure 😊 You are making such a difference in not only your life, but in your husband and kids lives, too! Brad did such a great job on your bathroom! You should be proud of yourself and the steps you’re taking in providing a happy, safe and clean home for all of you! I’m sure proud of you ❤

@@lindagreenacre630 I always have my windows open, in my bedroom I have it open till I go to bed. Heard early in the morning a rat wanted to crawl in,,, puh,,,though I had it closed. I cannot be in a house or an apartment with every window closed day and night. Im getting hot and swetty very easily and I would rather have some cold than warm., but it's so disgusting and difficult where I live on the first floor,,,the damn rats just walks in through your balcony if you have door open or the windows. Im fed up with it and I want to move someday to a small new house out in the countryside, beside my daughter and her man and my 2 small grandkids.
You could use a hard brush dipped in hot soapy water to wash your wall and then dry it of with a dry cloth

And it’s totally up to you I like you talking through things and telling us you know how you feel and what’s going on during your day. However, if the cleaning gets difficult put on some music after a while to allow you to just focus on what you’re doing.

Paint the fire place with masonry paint a dark gray with a gloss easier to clean off and paint the wood stove with a heat paint too
Hi Deborah, may I suggest something, during the cold months when you can’t open windows, it might be in your best interest for you and your family to get an air purifier, especially since you have to use a wood stove for heat. Indoor air is highly polluted and bad for lung health, please consider it.
Ive said that too,,you are many in that house and also alot of cute furries and the ventilation is not the best i guess,2 for your bedrooms, 1 livingroom, 1 in kitchen=4. Maybee some of your lovely friends over here could maybee help you to buy some good quality,,,,that would really help your family for a better and healthier life . I think this is the most important. Also you can buy some non allergy pillows for you. all, I have one It's. really good and firm-fluffy easy to wash them. Then you could buy non alleric quilth to your bed so you dont get dustmites. These things you could buy as christmas presents for your whole family.

Another good job and matelpiece looks much better now you redesigned the layout. Use a spray bottle to soak the bricks with water & use a scrubbing brush with water which has a washing liquid in it & clean it by hand. Do sections at a time as bricks need to be wet. If dishsoap doesn't work try baking soda & soap or white vinegar.

I would scrub the brick with a scrub brush and soapy water and then wipe off with a rag. Another great video!

I dont want to be rude but..... is that old fire safe?,, it looks like the smoke has leaked out,up the bricks near the pipe. And it looks so old... dont go getting carbon monoxide poisoning. !!! . May be an idea to buy a carbon monoxide smoke detector . Brad should know about that sort of thing I think. Xxx

You can put white vinegar in a jar,fill it up almost full and drop some drops of fragrance oil in it, let it stand on your mantel,,,it cleans the air and takes away bad partikles from air,and the fragrance oil makes it smell nice in the whole room, you can do this in every room.
Next time you should open the window to help with the dust and dirt

You did a good job doing your dishes .I think they make some clothes smaller than some and some bigger than others You are doing a good job working in your house.
Great video today. I enjoy the longer ones when you chat. Use hot water, dish soap and a scrub brush for the brick and the fireplace itself. Wipe over it afterwards with plain hot water to rinse. Don’t forget to clean all the ashes out from inside the fireplace. Could just shovel them out. Maybe dedicate a wall (where the bookshelf is?) to hang all Brads memorabilia. That would free up the mantel for some family pictures and decor. I would definitely take down the mini blinds. They are dust collectors and hard to clean.

Great video!! You are getting so good at organizing and decluttering. I would get a hard bristle brush with dawn dish soap to clean the bricks. Cement screws should work for hanging things. If you could get some cheap cream color paint and mix in some water you could paint that on the bricks once they are clean. I love your long videos with you talking to us. ❤❤

Hi Deborah. I think 45 minute videos are just perfect. Not too long nor short. Curtains would be better for the space, and if lined, they also help with cold drafts. If you have essential oils, it’s great for getting sticky stuff off and smells good too. The mantel looks great btw. Love from Canada. 🇨🇦

I've never had to clean brick before but I would try a bucket of hot soapy water and a scrub brush. I'd brush the wall down with the soapy water first. Then blot it dry with some of your old towels. I'd see how that did, and then go from there. If it still wasn't clean as I wanted, I'd go over it again.

Suggestion for painting tub. I had one in my last house. I bought 2 or three cans of spray paint by rustoleum in walmart. They were 5$ roughly a can. Get the kind for metal or cast iron. I picked bronze color. It looked beautiful when done. I think beings you can't see back side id just focus on front side and legs.
The t-shirts I'd just have them try on. Sometimes labels are mistakes. Nice job!

Me personally I like the longer videos. Also I think if you hang everything and then put more things on the mantle, it might look too cluttered. Just a thought but do what makes YOU happy 😊
This is how i clean my b4icks on fire place. I with hot water with a sponge or brush. Then, mix three tablespoons of dish soap with 1/2 cup of baking soda in a bowl and stir together to make a paste. Apply this paste to the bricks and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then scrub with a brush or sponge.
I wipe with hot water
Don’t forget to wipe down with plain hot water after this step to rinse.

Use a brush and hot soapy water to clean those bricks. You can then wipe it doesn’t win with a cloth.
Need scrub brush and water and soap and get corn broom they also have sprayers that pump up and spray for garden use to do the brick use old towels that or clothing that going throw away to clean it with use LA Awesome cleaner it's multiple purpose degreaser it clean grills end engine block full strength or use in spray bottle to clean has measurements on gallon jug 3$,

I used to work at a 100 yr old Bed and Breakfast….. it had bathtubs like yours and they had them re-glazed. There are people who do that, but you may look at Home Depot etc. to see if they have a glaze kit. It’s not cheap to have someone come and do it. Know you aren’t ready yet, but just a heads up
