I found that with my Kato Glacier Express and DN163K4A that I could remove the original board and install the decoder board without removing the light pipes. In addition, there was no need to add solder to the back tabs. Fit perfectly and worked fine. Thank you again!
I spoke too soon. I did have to put solder blobs on the two contacts at the back of the decoder! I wrote my first response prior to putting the cab shell back on. As soon as I did that, the decoder board without the solder blobs was pushed down sufficiently so that absolutely nothing happened. Now all works fine. Thank you again for your video. It really helped!
