Akompi had one of the best guitarists during those years. At a point on stage, this talented guitarist could toss the guitar to his back. While stylishly playing beautiful lyrics from his back his happy audience responded: "Akompi Ne No" meaning "That's the Akompi's". They were pretty good comedians
Thanks, guys for taking us back to the past, fantastic! am listening with a can of beer, and my hot water for gari is ready... I only need to warm up my okra soup and dinner is served. Kofi samo is time to go home...
Mr Samo,...you'd disappointed, if you think home is as you left it,...therefore, I'd advise you to stay put, keep sipping your beer, and keep eating your okro soup and enjoy your new home!!!
I remember watching Akompi at a small village near Nsawam, called Pokrom live with their Big monkey 🐒 who dances to their songs this was in the early 1970s
Wow, what a class and master piece of song. I wish I lived in the days of Gold coast to have experience good music and life, but God knows best. RIP to all gone old time musicians
Listening to these evergreen masterpieces from our predecessors, one would wonder, "what happened to our music and tunes?".
The most stylish guitarist at the time. Farethee well Akompl ,R I P
In 1962 I was 12 years. The style of singing is like E.K. Nyame's Band. Fond memories!
Akompi was also a concert party. Their songs were popular alongside those of Kwabena Onyina, E.K. Nyame, Broadway, Ramblers, and Ambassadors.
