MILD SPOILER BELOW, WATCH THE VIDEO FIRST Imho, Sindragosa's addition as an ally NPC is among the best parts of the Azure Span. She's given MUCH needed depth and it makes her use in wotlk much more tragic, to balance out the awesome of a frostwyrm. I absolutely love that we're shown a good side, and a motherly one. It makes sense considering we're dealing with the former queen.
Oh that entire dungeon is depressing. Well done, but good lord it's depressing. Loneliness, pain, abandonment, guilt, it's awful. Really well done but good lord it's just *awful* what happened to the characters in there. It is WoW's best written short tragedy.
Seeing Sindragosa's Visage was tragic because she wasn't aware of what actually happened to her real self, she was unaware that Simdragosa was thrown and badly injured, called out for Malygos, tried and failed to reach Dragonblight, then was raised. The entirety of Dragonflight seems tragic because none of those on the Isles know that a majority of the dragons they knew died violent deaths or was tortured.
Sindragosa's visage is beautiful, and so is her personality. These things make her fate all the more tragic. Betrayed and murdered by Deathwing, only to be raised by the Lich King. I agree. The story of the Dragonflights is tragic, with betrayal, madness, enslavement, corruption, and inevitability. But one theme of the expansion is overcoming the tragedies of the past, and working towards a brighter future.
I’m annoyed how they characterize Kalagos…. He is seasoned… he has had years of adventures and had been a grown up for decades. He has zero confidence, is lost and kind of a whimp , it’s so bizarre. He is a Arch Wizard Magic Dragon blessed by Titan deitys. So dumb.
@@MrJara1018 He lost his first love, his mentor Malygos was driven mad and he was forced to see his already dwindling flight in a civil war, became Aspect only to lose the powers shortly after, his remaining flight scattered after the Aspects lost their powers, inadvertently caused the bombing of Theramore. His life has been full of loss. His doubt and lack of self-confidence is completely in character.
I don't, why'd it have to be Sindragosa? there is 0 chance of any sort of development cause we already know she is dead, this was nostalgia baiting. could have easily been a new character we could have continued to do things with but nah that won't tempt the classic crowd over with member berries.
@@DaWoWzer it's not Sindragosa's story though. It's Kalec's. She works as a mentor for him to take on the role as the leader of the blues and her presence shows Kalec with the emotional weight of someone who has lived through a lot and feels lost. A new character wouldn't work as it wouldn't have the latter (nostalgia is also on Kalec's part) and also couldn't play the role as easily as the previous 2nd in command of the flight.
When Senagos and his brood appeared I was delighted! A perfect conclusion the tragic story of the blue flight that I've been following since I was a child, hope rekindled
I actually shouted SENEGOS! when he appeared. Such a great moment especially since last we saw him he didn’t seem like he had that much fight left in him.
The Visage of Senagos as a troll makes sense, trolls being one of the OG "natural" races of Azeroth, him being the oldest-no-aspect-dragon. It just fits.
You mentioned at the end of wanting to know more about the Sindragosa and Malygos. Back at the Camp Antonidas there is a side quest with vulperas exploring the towers and some runes. This quests do show a bit of their relationship in some nice poems.
I really hope that the little dragon the flies down an roars at razageth was emigosa from legion, such a great introduction to how she/he has grown through out the xpansions
I never thought id care about the Blue flight this much, but the storytelling was phenomenal all around. Kalecgose’s separation from his fellow kin. The “memory” of Sindragosa. Senegos’ epic appearance. The lack of eggs at the Ruby life pools. Its like the history of their flight came together. I am now on board for Tuskar playable race!
This whole questline and the entire of Azure Span is just beautiful, the music and the bittersweet secrets the Azure Archives dungeon have. Right in the feels 🥲
Its upsetting to me how alone Kalec is. Khadgar is the only one there for him. The two of them together held off an army of Primalists with practically no aid whatsoever, I'm glad that Senegos's family came to join him in the end.
If you want a little more information regarding Sindragosa and Malygos' relationship look no further than one of the side quests in Camp Antonidas, apparently that entire ruins was meant as a testament to their love. There is a lot of fun stuff going on in this expansion so far if you know where to look. Don't believe, the next time you are in Obsidian Citadel's basement, see about trying to check a book out from one of the cases. But only after you found a time capsule for an old dragon.
If Sabellion has returned from Outland, I hope that means we’ll get to see Tyrygosa again too. Her with some Netherwing allies would be fantastic to see alongside the newly reformed Blueflight.
Tyrygosa is on Azeroth though, we saw her in the Dragon Soul raid, while narratively speaking there's nothing preventing Tyri from returning , even though her Netherwing allies are gone as far as I recall. I can not stand Kalago’s character as of late . He is well past the “I don’t know who I am or what I’m doing “ phase. He is seasoned he has had years or adventures. He is a arch-wizard ,dragon lord, blessed by Titan Deitys….. it’s so dumb. He should be able to solo all the Primal Incarnates ….
Considering he gave up most of his power to defeat Deathwing, he cannot defeat her alone. Neither of the Aspects can, when alone. The Blue dragonflight was almost entirely decimated, their leader went crazy and had to be killed, Sindragosa died horribly 2 times, no wonder he's a wreck. He also didn't really get the chance to be tutored for his role as future Aspect, he also didn't really wanna become that, seeing what happened to both Malygos and Deathwing.
While I don't necessarily agree about how powerful he is, I'm absolutely in agreement about his character being insufferable lately.
@Justin B because they're expecting "dragonflight" In a "op or strong" stance but oh boi. They don't like how nerfed they are. While me is like meh
