ARRrma Nailed it with this one. Awesome durable truck. no upgrades needed. just fun and run as is. same with my Granite grom. This typhon jumps perfect.
Just ordered mine from a hobby shop who had some in stock a few states away! And looks like it shipped today. Cant wait. Also order 2 sets of the upgraded shocks and diffs for my grom and the typhon
I'm always so impressed with your videos. The Typhon Grom with stock electronics seems to work well at a skate park. It's so light that I imagine it would hold up well in such a brutal environment. I couldn't resist buying 2 of them. I think the electronics from a Mini B would be perfect for this little guy. Arrma has a selection of 8 pinions and matched motor mounts with fixed mesh. GPM sells an adjustable motor mount but it's difficult to set mesh. For me anyways. If memory serves me right the stock motor has an odd shaft size and it's a mod 0.8 spur so you will need a pinion gear that matches. Probably simple stuff for you but not for me. I just watched a guy log 76 mph with his. I'll be happy with 50mph. It's a super cool RC but you could spend 3x the original cost of the car on upgrades.
@@jonhowland4985 I think the Hobbywing Quicrun WP-16BL30 Waterproof 1/18th Scale Brushless ESC for approximately $26.99 and the Hobbywing QuicRun 2435SL 1/18 Brushless Motor (4500 or 6500kV) for approximately $29.99 would be a good one. However I’m still researching.
I KNOW I'll be getting one...and, obviously, upgrading to brushless. Regarding the rear wing support, if it was a 1-piece design, I don't think it would snap as easily as you are thinking. With a larger/heavier RC, yes...but, as small/light as the Typhon Grom is, I think it would survive easily enough...but, a 1-piece design would have been a molding problem, which is why I'm thinking they choose to go with the 2-piece design. When you look at race buggies, most of them don't Even have that cross-brace, so this having one is a nice addition.
Did they put the all steel dif gears on it? Ran 2 packs of just jumping in dirt an pavement driving and the rear diff broke on my granite grom. These are great just have the one flaw.
Guy in a Facebook group suggested checking your axle to wheel bearing clearances. His were binding bad. Took it apart and had to remove some of the plastic to allow proper clearance inside the bearing. Or just buy the metal axles
@@JayTeeRC That's Awesome, can't wait to see how it works out for you! If it's as Fun as I think it is, I might just get Both the truck and the kit all together, lol!
We are a fan of them too! Had a strange question for you.. are you "Guy the Bible guy" from Bible Adventures several years ago 🤔 you have the same laugh and vocal patterns. 😆 it's one of my Littles favorite show.
I got mine today. I think it was built on a Friday. Stuff left loose, stickers applied like crap, servo messed up. Love the design, but the assembly process was absolutely botched.
Hyper Go brushless buggy . 20$ more .🤔 28-30 on 2S. drives the same . And can go 40. I'm no Arrma hater just a thought for people who would be making the choice one or the other
I have rc’s that go 20, 30, 50, and 65+mph. All have their place and unique driving experience, and I can have as much fun with a 20mph as with a 50mph…..just a different kind. They don’t all need rockets strapped to them. In fact, while I’m happy with one at 20, I just recently upgraded another that was a little sub 50 because I felt it needed a bit more for what I wanted out of it. I guess that’s a long way of saying I don’t mind this at 21mph, as long as it handles well and is durable (or doesn’t take too much to make it durable). Tuning from a solid base to get the type of performance I’m looking for is the fun part. Polishing a turd is not.
That’s true my Mojave can run 8s I often run 4s on my track , faster too being in full control , these cars are small so 20 seems fast 40 they’re like rockets
Nice chassis....too bad its gonna cost you the price of the whole buggy to convert it to brushless and put a decent servo in it. Arrma is money grubbin on this one. IMO
Such a tiny, small little car ... I can barely see it lol 20 mph ... man, i just stick with those China brand car for that price. Those China brands are a beast!! :)

It did good here too

Solid video and these little rigs are pretty durable

Very nice! Going to pick one up tomorrow and give it the GNCRC treatment!
Seems to perform well. The electronics feels like quality? For example, is it more responsive than say a wltoys car?
I got one last weekend
Nice run Jay, your C8 looks gorgeous in the background. I can dig it! ❤👍💪🔥💯🙂
Thanks man. how u been?
@@JayTeeRC I've been great, thanks for checking on me. God bless Jay 🙌.. and keep doing what you do. Hard work pays off my friend. 💪🔥💯🙏💙
These Arrma Groms drive so much better than the Chinese brands. Love that Arrma is doing some small scale stuff.
Hyper Go drives the same .
😊
There are several pinion gears available for that little rig.
which one is better for jumping the typhon or granie grom
When I get mying I'm racing it against Losi mini-B I have figure out how to make it 2w I will figure it out
Either pop out the center driveshaft or pop out the front 2 driveshafts.
I enjoyed this video!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Picked one up today, but it's 🌧 🌦
What would you suggest for a mild 2-3s brushes setup? Something small that fits easily. Being budget friendly of course.
I just posted a video on something like this. I got a system for it I'm going to put it in and try it

Might not be as much of an issue with the smaller tires? If it does have metal gears I feel like they’d fit the granite though

Nice Bash Session 👏🏼😅 Looks like it's going to take a Good beating! Now to get the Brushless upgrade kit for it, haha...! 😆
just ordered it 🧐...lets see how it does when it comes🤷🏾♂️

No I'm not him but I do right children's Christian books
@@JayTeeRC Really!? Do you sell on Amazon? Didn't your UA-cam use to have some Christian content years ago, I looked recently but can't find it.
You should wrap your C8 in an RC car paint job style…do something wild.
😳🤔

What up Jay

My son said when I went to put BL SYSTEM in the Gorgon
Why not leave it un breakable and slower ends up being faster on our course
Lower speeds are meant for smaller running areas like indoors or the driveway. otherwise with a big area, it will feel too slow

brushless would be good
