I have been watching your vids for over a year. My uncle was a naval aviator WWII ace, flying a carier based Hellcat. Two of his sons live within a 45, or less, drive from you. I truly believe you would enjoy talking with them.
@@310Pilot Kevin thanks for all the videos. Been a follower for a while and always get excited to see a new 310 video. Is your son still flying ? I remember 1 video of you letting him fly.
I loved the Gatlinburg flight, for many reasons, but what I really enjoy is when you talk about best practices, i.e., how to handle MOAs. Thanks for sharing your perspective.
Thanks for the Gatlinburg share. Norris lake and Dam are beautiful with emerald green waters. Spent teen age years in the early 70’s with our family boathouse there.
Great video. As a Knoxville native, current Cherokee county, GA resident, I was very familiar with all the scenes around the Gatlinburg area. Your videos are great and very enjoyable. Please don’t change a thing!
Nice flight and great editing. I can only imagine the hours put into this from your side. I know as an aviation enthusiast I surely appreciate it! Stay safe
We went there years ago when the kids were about 5-6 and had a blast. Also going through the mountains was awesome and going through Kancamagus Hwy. in the White Mnts of New Hampshire where you were earlier brings back those memories of all the swimming spots and the great car ride. Thanks for the videos Kevin.
That's pretty neat. I've never seen that in all my GA flying. I did get a ride on an F16 once where we went below a 172 while at 500-1000 agl doing 300+ kts. That was pretty wild. :)
Hi there again, I just love flying with you guys, I have a funny story, when I was flying my 310 with a friend she had to go, like Jamie to the ladies room, she started pulling the curtains close so no one would see her

Its amazing how much the Gatlinburg area has grown, Back in the 80's when i was a kid not much around and not a lot of people. when i looked up Gatlinburg i found your channel. I would love to fly there vs the 10 hour drive but sweet channel.
Enjoy your videos, I’m a new pilot flying to new places with the wife - copilot lol great way to retire , love watching the videos for training , with communications with the different airspace’s and towers , thanks-Ron
Glad you're enjoying the channel Ron and congrats on your retirement/new flying adventures with your wife!! Aviation is a small world. Maybe we'll see you around. :)
Love watching you all since your from my old stomping grounds. I was born and raised in St.Charles and its awesome that you fly over all the places that I am familiar with. Thanks. And have subscribed. Friendly skies.
Right there in my neck of he woods. Morristown apirport is great. Where I took my check ride. KTYS controllers are super. Good flying in that part of the worlk. My home airport was KRKW.

That was a cool little trip. I have always enjoyed Gatlinburg the few times I've been there as well. Thanks for sharing this video for us all to enjoy guys!
Hey! a rooster stowed away on the flight! LOL....I laughed out loud several times on this video..... tail camera looked great! nice and steady... Nailed that landing!!! bravo!
Mountain coasters are fun. There used to be a Pinball museum uphill from the mall in downtown Gatlinburg. A small fee let's you play pinball all day long on all the machines that are working.
We love vacationing in the GSM. Gatlinburg, pigeon forge, Sevierville is home away from home, not to mention the southern hospitality. Flying through Indiana that would have been Camp Atterbury military base , about 40 minutes south indianapolis.
Kevin, I've been to that field many times. Great Museum there on the field. FBO is terrific. They have picked me up in the golf cart before. Kudos to KGKT.
I'm glad I ran across yalls videos. I'm about to begin my journey to get my pilots license and have been stuck on eventually getting a Cirrus. But, after seeing you guys in the Cessna 310, I think my goals have changed. Keep up the great videos!
Enjoy watching your videos in wintery reading mass... Especially loved your New England swing. Gaitlinburg looked like an awesome place to visit. Keep up the great videos. Thanks, Chris
Quality video once again. Enjoyed the climb out at Gatlinburg and your views on the MOA's which is exactly like mine except we have one that basically takes up the whole turn out east so VFR it is going east.
Excellent video! I'm sure the traffic advisory at 21:28 was for all the traffic in our practice area, next time your cruising through south or west of joliet, I'd recommend tuning in 123.3 in a second radio, and listening to our shenanigans, because sometimes we can be as high as 6 or 8 thousand. I'm sure we're a headache for you guys working Midway approach.
Hi, only just came across your videos today and I love them. Great stuff. Have always liked the look of the Cessna 310/320 series, a beautiful aeroplane. Both you and, I think your wife, are right on it. I presume she holds a PPL as well ? As for me, I am a 75 year old Brit, ex-UK Civil Aviation Authority - many years in Flight Safety - and am now retired living north of Barcelona, Spain.# Keep on going. Superb and many thanks.
Like the tail camera view. I assume it's new as I do not recall it from other videos. Then again I've been know to jump tabs with UA-cam playing in the background. Great video as always. Go Dawgs!
Great scenery there. You mentioned Morristown, TN and Cherokee lake. We have a friend who lives there. It's a beautiful area and winters are not too severe there. And by the way people, can the Monday morning quarterback routine. Keep it to yourself. We don't care how well you can sync your props or lean your engines, etc.
Back in the 80s where I flew in UK it was the A10s in our atz that freaked us out. We had a range close by and it was a shortcut for them. We never argued though, they had live ammo.
Kevin: "babe, you came in like a wrecking ball". That was the perfect opportunity for him to start singing Wrecking Ball. Lol. I am also surprised Jamie didn't start singing it. Love the vids!
@@MrWpns24 I kind of figured that it wouldn't do anything but wondered because the plane isn't on the ground like a car is if the wind coming in would have any effect on the plane like pull the one side down a little or something.

Douglas Lake on the French Broad River and Cherokee Lake on the Holston aren't natural lakes. They're reservoirs impounded by TVA hydroelectric/flood control dams. TVA drops the lake levels starting in October, I think, 50 feet or so to provide flood storage volume for winter runoff. That's why it looked there was lots of beach. Barring a drought, by spring and summer boating season all those dry areas will be under water and all the docks laying on the dirt will be floating again. Thanks for the great views from here and another great video!!

Looking forward to our west coast swing so I can show the folks some of the differences.
