True hes a very good character but misses a bit of abilities maybe they wanted him to be as simple a possible so you wouldnt be mashing the custom action buttons all the time
@@SonicXShadowGensHype deep sea zone has out of water paths, you'll only be underwater if you screw up (in Modern Sonic's case, miss a jump or not have boost to cross the waters).
honestly its really fun to try and learn how to best utilize his moveset by playing through the main campain and learning new ways to traverse stages (for example he can entirely skip the minecart sections if you boost into the doors, allowing you to walk through them without needing to get on the minecart)
I have masterd his speed and even his forms and he's actually the best mod ever since he literally is from sonic x and yes he's fun to use but more fun in dark super then normal and super

x sonic gets nerfed BADLY in the water that's why i hate playing water levels with x sonic

The modern stages from srb2 generations seem to be the perfect stages for x sonic.
Big, corridor like, which not a lot of platforming.
It's tough to master him, i'm slowly warming up to using him, but he's fun.

Eh I mastered him bout 10 seconds.
It just depends on the gameplay and his speed.
