I used Ben and Jerrys Sweet Cream Base #2 recipe and added vanilla and guar gum in retrospect it turned out pretty good! 2 cups Heavy cream ¾ cup Sugar ⅔ cup Half and half table spoon of vanilla extract ( I like a strong flavor) 1-2 teaspoons guar gum (experiment to your taste)
Been a long time since I made this video but I seem to recall it was a full teaspoon. I sadly lost my sense of taste due to covid a few years ago so I do eat or make ice cream anymore or anything else sweet.
@@callmebigpapa Did you get your sense of taste back? I got most of mine mostly back after 3 wks but its now been 3 months and I'm about 90% back to normal.
I do get what he means it’s too caramel like Like caramel annnoyingly doesn’t stop pulling and sticking Otherwise I agree with the other commenters that it’s close to cold stone in yummy creaminess
Callmebigpapa: Question? : Have you heard of Booza Ice-cream, it's Turkish Style. "That what it looks like here, It looks like you made [stretchy ice-cream ]". 🍨🍧🍦🍚
Guar gum gives ice cream the consistency of frozen spit. Try Fresh Market (or Harris Teeter) store brand vanilla - no guar gum - like eating vanilla snow (like Breyers once was, before the "Good Humor" clown took it over).
Omg thats how Cold stones does it! You literally made cold stones icecream thats awesome
You made soft serve, this is perfect.

Regarding the required amount of guar gum, you mentioned 1/8 tsp to a batch. How much is a batch (in cups, quarts, etc) please? Thanks!
