Hi Dr. C; you mentioned that guar gum can clump and possibly cause swallowing problems if there is not enough water. Can you tell us please, what is "enough"? If we have it in your shake I would assume whatever the ratio of water to mix is then your shake is "enough"? Thank you
Interesting! First, it bothers me that live animals even though they were mice, were used to study the benefits of guar gum on their intestinal tract. 🤬. That being said, I have severe food allergies so I have to make my own gluten free baking flour. Guar gum is the only emulsifier I can use in my flour mix and have done so for about 7 years. Even with all my food allergies, I have had no bad effects with the guar gum so I will continue to use it. It is good to hear you speak of the benefits of using guar gum.

Appreciate the clarifying information. I wonder how guar gum compares & contrasts with apple pectin? Thanks for making this video for us!
You're welcome! In comparison studies, guar gum had a strong effect on lowering appetite and improving satiety.
Very interesting and informative. Thanks for sharing
Great video! My question is, if I have green bean and white bean sensitivity should I avoid guar gum?
You'd need to check with your doc or allergist. Guar Gum allergies are extremely rare but not impossible.
can you use it in making jams?
What is a safe daily dose

Good video. Can Diabetic people with Gastroparesis take guar gum since it slows down gut. Thank you!
That is not a contraindication. It does not slow gut motility; it slows gastric emptying, which is good for blood sugar.
@@DrChristiansonThank you!
Thank you so very much for sharing!
Would love to hear your take on allulose and acacia.
Acacia is a nice fiber option. Allulose is a sweetener that is harmless in typical doses.
