Yes, you can use bread yeast to make beer too. I messed up once by putting the yeast in too early when it was still too hot. One day after I placed it in, I saw it wasn't brewing so I opened it, put in bread yeast, waited the 2 weeks, and it made a pretty good beer TBH
I had no idea the yeast expired. I got it as a novelty gift in '06. I opened 2 days ago and put it altogether. So do you think that I'll have beer 12 days from now? 😄😞
Great video! Question: I understand that the sugar is for the alcohol content, but aren't we supposed to add a carbonation drop as well to carbonate it?
1. You’re not supposed to stir the yeast. 2. You don’t need to sanitize a pot that you’re going to boil water in. 3. You may want to reread your directions.
Lmao was saying the same things out loud!! 🤣. And he should of stirred the shit out of the mix once he pored it in from the pan and added the rest of the water. Then add the yeast but DONT STIR THE YEAST! there was a few sloppy things involved in this video but hey they put the time into doing it so I gots to give them some credit for giving it a go. I just don't agree with skipping key steps so others who watch mess up themselves. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS 100%.
Straight up sounds like Jessie Pinkman was giving this tutorial

Thanks for the quick reply! 2 per bottle. Much appreciated
Just got mine for Christmas. Going to give this a try soon

😂 The classic snap before the cut to two weeks later....
In all seriousness, thanks for the video, good info.
What about the 2 booster packs they come with should I just not use them?
He sounds like Jessie Pinkman
Finally got to watch it, that was great! I literally feel like I got a contact buzz.
if you bottle your beer in a glass growler, what's the likelihood that the glass may break during the carbonation process?
It won't break, just be sure to leave room in bottle & screw cap on tightly. Cheers!

Nice TPB reference lol

The sugar fermenting is what makes carbonation. The drop is just a sugar cube
@DylanKowalski123 so if I want to add brown sugar to the wort during fermentation in the 2 gallon, how much would you suggest should I add?
@@DylanKowalski123 trying to up my ABV a bit
Nice job guys. I learned a lot
What does the kit come with? I am not an IPA person.
You can buy some lager or Stout refills from MrBeer directly as well if IPA isn't your flavor
I did miss one thing. When do the carbonation pellets go in? And how much per?
When you bottle. 2 if you use the cubes. I like to just use sugar. The more you add the higher the alchohol content will be
@@DylanKowalski123 how much sugar do you add
Dude... A tablespoon is an actual measurement not a spoon you would eat with. 🤣
Why does the kit say 30 minutes?
Kowalski, Analysis?
Wat percentage is the beer
+Tj Harris depends on how much sugar you add
@@DylanKowalski123 blood hell Imma just pour the hole bag in the bottle
