Pretty cool. Since the Serum patch basically used “SuperSaws” which is essentially just detuned saws I wondered why you didn’t detune them and went with the subtle slop instead. You could hear it had a slightly sync’d type sound because the osc’s were similarly tuned. Pretty sure you could get a much fatter sound on the Moog since 32 voice unison basically just becomes noisier and loses bass definition due to phase smearing. At a certain point more oscillators/voices doesn’t change the sound much and tends to loses focus. I sometimes patch in from the Model D a saw stack that’s detuned+FM for a supersaw sound, high pass it and then add in a square fundamental and main beating saw harmonic on my Grandmother and it’s just massive. This gave me an idea to try parallel filtering going into Model D high/bandpass, along with GM low pass and mix in both straight to the VCA.
Yea you’re right. Could have got closer if I detuned the oscillators…but I had just finished making a bunch of videos and used detune in most of them so wanted to try something different. Yea you can get a pretty massive sound if you start adding in external oscillators for sure. Good call
This is excellent! Killer patch. Thanks man!
Awesome. This time, you inspired me to try out SLOP (VINTAGE MODE) and PARALLEL FILTERING…
Thanks a lot!
This sound so good!
Really great patch idea, thanks again.
Glad you like it!
