      YES...PLEASE PAINT IT!!! Just incredible work. I watched all of the daily workshop videos and this was a chore. One word of warning. I was watching a video put out by The Tank Museum in England and they restored a T-57 with the exact same steering and gear box and a very minor problem with the steering linkage caused the bare metal clutch plates to become so overheated they melted together during Tankfest 2019. It made me think of all the sanding and polishing of dozens of those metal clutch plates you did and how it all might be wasted by one little slip up in fine tuning the linkage. BE CAREFUL!!!!!!

    As a french looking at an English subtitled Dutch serie about tank repair, I can tell you, what you're doing is amazing.
    My little contribution : 12:18 I think, as well as gearing box, engine, tracks, the big gun might be a source of an uncomfortable noise. xD

      Those cogs at 4:46 are pretty darn tame compared to the other rusted parts they found, including the entire side of the engine with parts completely destroyed by rust.

    I was introduced to your videos by a friend of mine i am amazed at the quick progress of your restoration of the tank! Love the work you and your friends have done very inspirational! Ive been a automotive mechanic for 25 years and its not just a job it's a passion as well your doing one of my bucket list that i would love to get my hands on to restore a military tank of any kind! I live in the United State's and to find something anything remotely close to a tank would be a Bradley troop transport that i could pick up for cheap is in Texas military salvage yard thinking hard on it! But all in all keep up the great work and thank you for the videos keep them coming!! Peace out brothers!!!

    Straight cut gear are stronger in terms of what theyll take,slanted teeth engage smoother, its for consumer comfort.

    What a beautiful gearbox - this is tank class stuff! Imagine putting this in a car - it would never ever break 😂 I admire Milo and his “side kick” and all the other guys that show up! I’m watching from southern Sweden 🤟🏻

    You need to get a sand blaster, it would make these resto-jobs so much easier (at least when it comes to de-rusting the engine, gearbox casing, body, etc)

    NOOOOO, *DON'T* put the seized bearing back in. Even though it turns again, it's no longer good. Good bearings cost as little as 2,50€ so there is no reason not to replace it.

      I noticed that to.. i was suprised they not seem to replace any bearings at all...concern all the job it was to take it down why not replace all old bearings with new ones ?

    Good old instant gasket still being used, used to get through gallons of the stuff back in the 60's trying to keep a British bike oil tight.

    Ziet er nog goed uit (6:50) na zoveel jaren!
    Ik was bang dat ze droog hadden gestaan en daardoor helemaal vast zou zitten.
    Je hebt behoorlijk geluk hier want die tandwielen vervangen was extreem duur geweest
    En schuine vertanding is minder efficient (11:36)

    Ik heb een suggestie voor de volgende nutteloze experimenten. Water in de motor gieten en tegelijkertijd terugschakelen naar de eerste versnelling op hoge snelheid.

    Amazing really - the gearbox has been sat full of water, neglected, abused... and yet all it needed was a clean up and reassembly, No replacement parts needed.

    I believe the tank used a straight cut gear for the torque it needs because of how massive and heavy it is.

    I discovered that if you use a knife instead of a chisel to start the separation between two flanges, it helps to eliminate damage to the gasket surfaces. This is a great video series and extremely interesting to say the least. Keep up the great work!

    bizar interessant dit, alleen ik vraag me af tot hoeveel bar die compressor zou gaan en hoeveel bar er dus op de flessen komt te staan. Want ik heb het gevoel dat je wel wat luchtdruk nodig heb om het motorblok te starten.

    Straight cut gears are stronger than helical gears, but are noisy as hell, listen to a rally car going through the gears and you'll hear the difference between helical and straight cut gears.
