      He sings it first and people copy. In the multitude of voices it just comes together ... People that go his concerts are generally music lovers. There is music in everyone and you tend to tune yourself to meet and attune yourself to those around you. The recording from the podium has the fully mixed sound. Just magical.

      This pianist explains pretty well why particularly nowadays it would not be easy to fail. There was even a concert where the crowd spontaneously started a choir. You only need a small group of people to start and a willing crowd to join in.

    • @somewhat.random
      @somewhat.random Рік тому +2

      I completely agree. He's obviously a supremely talented musician technically. The problem with this? He forgets the artistry of this song. It's simple. And he spends almost 7 minutes making it unnecessarily complex with flourishes and other departures. You take something that's beauty IS its simplicity and you wipe that away. What are you left with? Some random poorly sung mediocre jazz tune with a cool audience participation sequence at the end. For whatever reason I've fallen down the "And So It Goes" UA-cam rabbit hole this evening. Never knew there were this many versions of this song. Want to hear an interesting one? Look up the Virginia Women's Choir version. Beautiful.

    • @RealJaybeeMusic
      @RealJaybeeMusic Рік тому +2

      @@somewhat.random If I'm being really picky, I think the Singapore's show had the least enjoyable rendition of this interaction. I'm sure it sounded great from Jacob's perspective but from the audience, if you had your ear set on one clueless individual then it was egregiously difficult to listen to. When he did this in the 'States or Europe it was leagues ahead of this performance. Again, maybe I'm being harsh on concert-goers but I feel like these folks don't have a very musical ear.

    • @TeaRho
      @TeaRho Рік тому

      Intros, improvs, riffs not really creating a melody but a tinkling-playing rambling. Even with his musical background, education and lineage, he's still not getting his music all together. Also, he should pay the audience instead.
