This ship has special meaning to me. I served on the last HMS Exeter for 2 years and it was my very first ship I served on. While I was on it, I got to meet a member of the crew from this HMS Exeter. He was on her when she was sunk by the Japanese in WW2 and he was taken as a POW. Very humbling experience.

I got on the bus today in London and an old man in the seat next to me started crying. He had lived through ww2, his wife had left him and his dog died. But he told me he had finally lost all hope when he heard Spartan Elite pronounce Exeter. Why would you do that Spartan?

Exeter is pronounced Exit-er just so you know for the future, I know some place names in the UK are pronounced differently to how they’re spelt also there were actually two of the York class built, the other being HMS York

Egggzeeeeeter. Think Spartan was channeling Tbull there. York was the lead ship in this reduced heavy cruiser class, but they were more half-sisters. York has a somewhat different appearance. The Brits were thinking they could make an 8" dual purpose gun and found out with York that wasn't going to fly. The subsequent ship--Exeter--had no such pretensions and the superstructure was revamped for an improved aircraft loadout.
Love how Spartan doesn't care about the time, he just records and releases entertainment and fun for everyone no matter what! You gotta love Spartan and his ways.

GG. There is a good movie about the sinking of Graf Spee involving Exeter at River Plate called Battle of River Plate 1956. German Commander scuttled Graf then shot himself. In regards to the game if it grows up to become a Battleship I might play it! Peas love and Montevideo port, Johnno Bloke.

I want apt other full House shifts but not belfast Colorado yeah that's a difficult ship to play don't like it although I can't explain much here but there is vids in fact if you search up meet the Colorado from the same UA-cam re-watching right now it will help you same with tbull vids

For colorado you want to bow tank the enemy shot then turn the rear to get full salvo off then swing back to bow tank before next salvo from enemy
I'm from Plymouth the city next to Exeter in England, with the rivalry between the two, I would call the ship a lot worse being named after that city.....😂😂

Can't believe you were pronouncing the name wrong the whole time. Spartan its pronounced Exit-er. Also Exeter was not a one-off ship her sister ship was the York. Good review. I will be purchasing this one.

I agree. I now use Scott and Kuznestzov as Inspirations on EVERY Cruiser Comander. I only use Yamamoto as an Inspiration on Scott and Kuznestzov themselves.

@@SpartanElite43 I believe that initially Pensacola was supposed to mount 152mm guns instead of 8 inch guns but with the Japanese navy launching the Mogami class the USN ditched the 6 inch guns and mounted the 8 inch ones.
Which caused big stability problems considering that the Pensacola was designed as a light cruiser.
Also what do you think of the Gneisenau having researchable 11 inch guns?
the german steel pack is free with game pass for me normally its 50 bucks but im not sure if you can get add ons for free with game pass does anyone else see that

U guys wanna here something funny? Earlier today i was playing in my french t5 cruiser and had 3 exeters on my team right? So we all move forward at the start of the game to cap c point. Well guess what the two exeters did that i was spawned next to. The hid in their smoke screens while i faced down a belfast and Indianapolis french t5 cruiser. Oh and might i add they didnt even 1 kilometer from their spawn point.
