Up until now, I didn't know anything about this festival at all and am very pleased to see lots of local kids having fun during the festivities. Please note that not just kimono and yukata, but also some special costumes for spring to autumn time festivals are worn all over Japan. Thank Japan Explorer for this from an overseas japanese:)

Hi J E great video the Japanese certainly know how to celebrate there culture and traditions ,both young and old and everybody in between seems to take part . The police seem to have crowd control of to a fine art or are they more respected in Japan ?. I could not even imagine any thing like that ever been allowed in England on the grounds of health and safety ,i did not see any safety harnesses on those chaps on top of those carriages ,they knew there capabilities ,Great stuff all the best .Alec.
