This was the first music video they released after The Rev (their drummer) had passed away in 2009, which is why they feature his empty kit at the end. Their music video for So Far Away is another beautiful tribute they did for him, written by Synyster Gates (the guitarist), you should definitely check that out.
group is new to me , have to check more from them, this one is fantastic. I find a lot of heavy rock/metal artists usually do a ballad to get radio recognition.( Not a ballad i know) but so many need to , makes a huge difference for expanding your fan base.........enjoyed this thanks.
I’m 54 and when I discovered these guys I was blown away! I put them right up there with Metallica and Judas Priest as my favorites! Just listen to the entire nightmare album and you’ll be hooked. The albums before that one are all great also.
2:51 I did the same thing with Avenged Sevenfold when I first heard them. I was just being a Cunt and a purist when it came to new metal. I was still grieving the death of Dimebag when I first heard Avenged Sevenfold and I wasn’t having it but now I love them.
M shadows has a beautiful voice when he really sings. Great metal voice but also just a beautiful voice. Synester gates and lays the guitar like it singing. He is so smooth when playing. It’s just beautiful.
Never known a guitarist capture the emotion of a song as well as Syn does. The solo in So Far Away brings tears to my eyes, without any need for words!
So many good songs I can think of y’all should check out, Bat Country, Carry On, So Far Away, a Little Piece of Heaven, Welcome to the Family, Shepherd of Fire,
If you react to Breaking Benjamin “Diary of Jane”. Might want to also watch the drum cover video. m.ua-cam.com/video/9ZCHMewvc70/v-deo.html&pp=ygUTQ3VidXMgZGlhcnkgb2YgamFuZQ%3D%3D
Took my daughter who was 12 at the time to her 1st concert at The Showbox in Seattle Washington. Avenged Sevenfold & Operator were playing and I think we both will remember it for a long time.
11:25 There were movie references in this video, but not so much to "The Shining", it was more referencing the movie "Jacob's Ladder". Their drummer, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, had written the drum track for this song, but he'd unfortunately died before he'd been able to record it and the band had to get drummer Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater to play the drums on this song when they'd recorded it and was offered to appear in the vodeo for the performance scenes, but he'd declined feeling that ot was too soon after Rev's passing, thus the reason why you didn't see the drum kit until the end of the video
i have a few rock favorites ill recommend! Polaris- Martyr Of Mice & Men- Second & Sebring Bad Omens- The Death Of Peace Of Mind Bad Omen- Like A Villain Slipknot- Snuff
A7X used to have a metalcore sound but after their first 2 albums sounding the seventh trumpet and waking the fallen they changed up their style to that more typical "radio friendly" metal sound, a big reason for that is due to Matt nearly permanently messing up his voice, Waking the fallen is a very good album I'd suggest checking out.
Trivium's album I manage to save from all those years back, which blowed me away was "the crusade". Also if you can, take a dive into Arch Enemy's album "anthems of rebellion"from 2003 with Angela Gossow. My first introduction to them. I've just repurchased the physical copy from music magpie. I also bought the entire back catalogue for A7X Inc their latest album. Very impressed with the different styles they go through.
I think the problem why metal music is currently less popular than pop and rap music is because there are still many elitists who, when people try to listen to metal songs, they say "this isn't metal blah blah blah..." and keep comparing bands or songs with classic metal bands
When I think of A7X I think of all the great mid-to-late-2000's sports and racing video games, as well as AMV's. They had a fair few songs in Madden/NHL games. Wasn't this song in one of the MX vs ATV games?
I admit that I also was closed minded to music. In the 80's and early 90's only would listen to metal . Metallica, slayer, Megadeth, motley crue, etc. Eventually I grew to appreciate the art of musicians regardless of genre and have seen 100s of bands live from Garth Brooks, Ghost, Lana Del Rey, Bullet for my Valentine, String quartets. The first concert I took my daughter to was Blue October. We have seen Avenged sevenfold multiple times. I would love to see your reaction to Demon Hunter-carry me down. Found your channel yesterday, first video I watched was reaction to Fat Electrician's America destroys half Iran's navy in 8 hrs. Love that you also have music reaction videos. Great mix including Ren. Watching one of those next!
To me, Ax7 is the perfect combination of Panter and Metallica, and those are also their 2 biggest inspirations. Ax7 - Unholy Confessions, Buried Alive, Beast and the Harlot, Bat Country, Not Ready to Die, This Means War, Almost Easy, So Far Away (tribute to The Rev, their drummer who passed away), Scream, Mad Hatter, Carry On, Sidewinder, The Stage. All great songs to do next, pick one you won't be disappointed.
Try to get to know A7X further, I guarantee you won't regret it after listening to it. A7X Has Hidden Golden Songs That Maybe Not Everyone Knows Except His Fans. I Recommend Hidden A7X Gold Songs : A7X - Darkness Surrounding A7X - Clairvoyant Disease A7X - Sidewinder ( About Snake ) A7X - Brompton Cocktail A7X - Dancing Dead A7X - Natural Born Killer A7X - Heretics A7X - Simulation A7X - CarryOn A7X - Beautiful Morning ( Latest ) The songs on each A7X album please react.
My favorite band OAT. This guys are special. The new album separates them from the other ordinary bands. I would love to watch you react to "Afterlife (live from the LBC)" this song has the most gorgeous chorus ever!
Definitely react to more do some songs of there old stuff. Off sounding the seventh trumpet, waking the fallen, and city of Evil (album names) old stuff was so good
Its insane to see a longtime Metalhead listening to A7X for the first time 😢 Buried Alive is one of my favorite songs by any band in any genre ever. I play the heart and soul out of that song on guitar. The lyrics are amazing. Ive been listening to any and all music in all genres for as long as i can remember now. I remember as a kid in my dads little pickup truck he would be listening to garth brooks and kenney chesney and the next day hes listening to guns n roses, metallica, acdc, iron maiden, etc. Then the next day hes listening to barry manilow and r kelly. I developed that same all over the place musical taste lol. I feel bad for the people who get stuck in a box and dont want to experience music in other boxes. Theres a lot of really great music out there in genres that you haven't given a chance yet. Try all the things 🥳
i haven't seen your channel but if you're up with guitar works... do check out their songs MIA Cosmic The stage Exist(check this one once you're more into their system)
When you were talking about metalheads being a bit elitist, I think that's generally true, and I know I was at one point. But I think most metalheads also grow out of that after a few years, and metal actually serves as a bit of a gateway to appreciating other types of music as well. At least that's my experience and what I've noticed in other people I've known. Great reaction, A7X are my all-time favourite band, I love them for their crazy variety, from their early metalcore (except the first album, I don't love that one), through a more "radio metal" phase, to country-inspired stuff, prog metal, they seemingly can do it all, and no matter what musical mood I'm in, I can listen to them. Idk if you have yet, because I just discovered your channel and subscribed and haven't had a look around yet, but I'd love your thoughts on So Far Away (the tribute song for The Rev - defo watch the official video for that one), Buried Alive and A Little Piece Of Heaven (warning: very dodgy subject matter, but a musical masterpiece and essentially a horror movie as a song if you can stomach the lyrics 😅) Anyway, sorry to waffle, great video! 🫶🤘
im with you Dave it's so easy to be judgemental of music. it's so human lol it's baked into us, we gotta actively work to truly give things a fair chance I wouldnt really consider avenged sevenfold a "metal" band even though they do have a lot of metal material. so i can absolutely see why someone into Pantera wouldn't be crazy about Avenged's sound. I grew up on a lot of this stuff and it took some growing up to realize Avenged isn't really a pure metal band like Pantera or Metallica (even metallica has a lot of softer stuff) id recommend literally any song live from their LBC show in 2008, legendary show with great sound quality, pretty good video quality
Critical acclaim live in the lbc or God hates live at Rock AM Ring 2011. They are both amazing live. Although you can't beat seeing the rev play with them in the lbc.
Bat Country was their breakout hit. Avenged Sevenfold is legitimate. I've written a band off because I thought they were somebody else. Avoided Alice In Chains for awhile because I thought they were a cheesy 80's hair metal band. A friend had told me they were good and I thought he was a nerd until he threw the cassette into the tape deck and I realized I'd been humming Down In A Hole for a month without knowing who had done it.
🤟🎶🥰 I've been a fan ever since I heard I "I won't see you tonight pt1 & 2" on the metal or hard rock channel on dish network way back when, anyone else remember those channels??? lol I've seen avenged live multiple times, seen bullet for my Valentine once because they played before lamb of god and slipknot , love Trivium as well but never seen them live (yet) love opeth & epica, most of all that remains stuff, ect keep em coming
“Critical Acclaim - Live in LBC” or “Afterlife - Live in LBC” - I know doing Live songs is daunting, but trust me, their LBC concert is so good, they made a record from it. There’s an upscaled version of the whole concert on UA-cam, with timestamps in the description to listen to specific songs. You can see their late drummer, The Rev, perform in both of these songs.
Just like nickel back. Many bash them not being heavy metal but overall musicality they are not that bad. Say nickel back music is about the middle of hard rock and classic rock.
I'm a sucker for lots of double bass. You guys should do some music reactions "on the beer". I'm the same as Ash, I loved so many different types of music but I don't really follow any bands or artists intently. I don't think there's a single band in the world where I can name every member, even if they're one of my favorite bands.
Gotta Check out their first album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. I like a handful of Avenged Sevenfold songs only as I think some of their stuff sounds a lil cheesy. Killer voice and great band, but some stuff just doesn’t click with me, especially their ballads and slower songs. However, their first album is pretty sweet
If you want to see the edge of the rabbit hole. Check out Buried Alive same album, official Video. You two will never be the same. But for now stay away from Life Is But A Dream. For now.
I am sorry but Pantera is no more dimebag and his brother Vinnie died not the same band to me surprised u haven't done the band Down which is members of Pantera. Corrosion of Conformity and Crowbar it wasn't that well known but good band
If the girlfriend (wife) likes Good Charlotte. Avenged Sevenfold singer (M. Shadows) and guitarist (Synyster Gates) made a song together - The River.
And it’s a fantastic song.
I was just about to make the same comment
This was the first music video they released after The Rev (their drummer) had passed away in 2009, which is why they feature his empty kit at the end. Their music video for So Far Away is another beautiful tribute they did for him, written by Synyster Gates (the guitarist), you should definitely check that out.
i was about to reccomend so far away as well!.
Critical Acclaim live from the LBC is probably the best introduction to A7X. Showcases all of their talents.
I agree! Or Afterlife Live!
Pretty much any song from the LBC show is incredible.
Avenged Sevenfold - Buried Alive
Their best song imo
Thank you so much again, my son had a wide range of music he loved
sorry to hear about your son, he had a great taste in music. just wanted to give my condolences, sorry for your loss Jarred
The Drum kits was for the Rev Rip Rev.......
group is new to me , have to check more from them, this one is fantastic. I find a lot of heavy rock/metal artists usually do a ballad to get radio recognition.( Not a ballad i know)

Afterlife love playing this on drum set. Another good drummer is in breaking Benjamin, diary of Jane. Great musicality on the drum set.

One thing I love about Avenged Sevenfold is how they make the Bass Guitar feel important too.
The live in lbc stuff is great
i have a few rock favorites ill recommend!

Of Mice & Men- Second & Sebring
Bad Omens- The Death Of Peace Of Mind
Bad Omen- Like A Villain

Check out Almost Easy live from the 07 warped tour, dope performance
anybody else remember the easter egg song for cod zombies? the snow map with the a7x song you could play?
One of the dopest shows I've seen was in my hometown San Antonio TX 2010 (ish) A7x (headline) , 3daysgrace and Bullet For My Valentine (opener)
Avenged sevenfold -the stage

Exactly
Gotta check them out live
I had the subtitles on from a previous video
and O. B. Dave comes out as Obi Dave
as if you are the illegitimate child of Obi-Wan Kenobi LOL

Great intro song for you. You should also check out Buried Alive, Coming Home and The Stage....fantastic songs.
God Hates Us is an absolute banger, if you ever want to do more A7X
Avenged Sevenfold - MIA ❤️🔥
You should check out the whole “The Stage” album (if you don’t already know it), it’s so good! Their lyrics are always great too
They actually used to open for Metallica!
You should check out the song " A little Piece of Heaven ".
If you want the craziest song from A7X in my opinion...it has to be Save Me. Freaking fantastic song!
Try to get to know A7X further, I guarantee you won't regret it after listening to it. A7X Has Hidden Golden Songs That Maybe Not Everyone Knows Except His Fans. I Recommend Hidden A7X Gold Songs :

i would highly recommend anything from their live in the LBC concert
Definitely react to more do some songs of there old stuff. Off sounding the seventh trumpet, waking the fallen, and city of Evil (album names) old stuff was so good
One of my saying singers can come and go but to get the right people together playing instruments is the hardest thing to do.
Its insane to see a longtime Metalhead listening to A7X for the first time 😢

Critical acclaim live in the lbc or God hates live at Rock AM Ring 2011. They are both amazing live. Although you can't beat seeing the rev play with them in the lbc.
Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife next please!
You need to react to Sevenfolds cover of Pantera's mouth for war with Vinnie Paul on drums, actually extremely good cover.
Check out some Dragonforce "Thru the fire and flames" for a really good music video and some amazing guitar riffs and solos!
Check out stuff from their "Live in LBC" show. Incredible
Not sure if the drum sets at the end are a nod to The Rev passing away and that being a nightmare to the band members
they are

Sepultura and Pantera are from the late 80s and early 90s and Avenged Sevenfold is from the early 2000s
i would love to see more avenged sevenfold reactions, great band, just overhated for being too popular

Same thing dawg. Hated it at first.
Metallica it's one of this guys predilected and favourite band.
