I literally grew up riding one of these at age 12. I rode them all over this Earth as an adult man. Now turning age 70, after selling all my big bikes, Harley, 600 Silverwing and smaller scooters I am buying a new 2019 Super Cub. I will not let myself DIE without owning the thing that gave me LIFE as a kid all the way through my entire life! Honda did a GREAT Service to the World with this bike. It allowed entire impoverished Nations ALL OVER THE globe become mobile & to industrialize. This little bike that began at 50cc, truly changed the World and changed everyone who ever rode it. I LOVE this little bike!

I own a Honda bike with a Super Cub 50 engine, and I didn't do any maintenance except for changing oil and spark plugs. The bike is 22 years old but it runs like brand new. Honda definitely knows how to make tough vehicles.

I have Honda Cub. It's very tough, economical.
It's easy to maintain good condition. Cub parts are cheap.
And I don't have a garage, so I have put it in the rain and snow for a long time.
But no problem. Keeping good running.
Everyone should have one per household.haha

I was a motocross racer in Indonesia in 80's. My first bike before I big enough for 125 class MX was Honda C70 that modified for offroad racing. I used Yamaha DT100 front fork with Honda Elsinor handlebar and 21' rim, moto-x tyres, tubular steel swing arm with Yamaha RX shocks that mounted on tilt position, reinforced the frame with extra pipe. Of course I modified the engine and sprocket too.
Although the power was not big, that was a "light - easy to handle bike".

I had a Honda 50 Super Cub as a kid in the late 60s. I busted a hole in the crankcase and never knew it until I checked the oil one day and it was dry. I retraced my riding for that day and never found the broken chunk or the oil so I don't know how long it ran without oil. A very tough little bike!

My first bike was a converted scrambler Honda SS Fury. 50cc of screaming raw power. Killswitch was dumping the clutch to stall it and starting it required pushing because the kickstarter was gone. Got a flat tire and just kept riding it until the bead expanded. Then I would rev it up, dump the clutch and the rim would spin inside the tire until it heated up and caught almost like a dragster.. learned a lot about motorcycles. I changed the piston because the compression was really low & found out the original one had all broken rings and part of the grooves melted together into a void. All of a sudden it felt like a hot rod with the new piston in it. I currently have a Honda XR 150 here in the Philippines, basically a '70s time machine still being sold today.

I had the CT90 Trail and had to tow my CB750 four over 60kms home one day with it because the CB750 had a point problem and stopped on the freeway unexpectedly. My friend rode the &50 whilst I towed it. The Ct 90 never missed a beat. This was back in the 1980's. Did I mention that the CT 90 was gifted to me in a box as pieces as part payment for a XL500s that I sold to a fellow military friend. It was truly the greatest bike I have ever owned.

The crashed cub had only the wheels bent and there was no damage to the engine.
It would have been better to immerse it in water or step it through with heavy equipment.
If you buy a cub at the age of 20, you can ride it until you become a grandfather,
and even present it to your grandchildren, it will work without any problems!

Hmm. Come to think of it again, the cub is so mechanically simple that it will hardly break even if it is submerged.
It just dries and works normally again. As long as you own the cub,
you will be able to do almost all maintenance with simple tools at home, without having to go to a mechanic!
The latest motorcycles are powerful and convenient, but with a lot of plastic parts and electronics,
the durability can't beat the cub. That's why I like classic products.

What wankers would destroy a perfectly good bike just to prove the engine would run after a 65' drop? Donate it to some poor student who needs to get around. Waste of resources. Sacrilegious is what that is really.

It's technically a motorcycle, but it has a stamped step-through frame, which gives it a scooter-ish look. In all honesty you could just say it's a hybrid of the two, and damn if that made it easy to ride.
Honda imported this bike in higher displacements (70 and 90cc if I'm not mistaken) as the Honda Passport, back in the early 80's.

Donate 1,000,000 honda cups to the poorest country in Africa with 1,000,000 barrels of oil or gasoline, then the country would become a robust developing country within 5 years.
