Whenever I see anyone cover Holy Diver, or any Dio song for that matter, I'm reminded of the greatness that was Ronnie James Dio. He was the best, simply the best at engaging with the audience on stage. I've been to hundreds of concerts and I've never ever seen anyone with the stage presence of Ronnie. He was the best.

Great to hear Vivian doing some of that great guitar work again. He always has seemed just sorta 'there' in Whitesnake and Def Leppard. Loved his Dio work though, really original and his solos always seemed to fit the songs very well.

Ok, so this old video pops up in my recommended videos, old enough that the "Last In Line" band hasn't even been put together yet....and it further reinforces, at least in my mind, that the ONLY person who can play Holy Diver and pick the main riff properly is, in fact, Vivian Campbell. I have seen countless, COUNTLESS, versions of this song, and nobody can recreate that feel. Also, IMHO, seeing him play these songs live in his later years, with this level of maturity in his playing, is outstanding.

I was going to go back and try to see what amps were onstage...I KNEW it wasn't that Mojave Scorpion he purchased for the gig w/Thin Lizzy.
Which is why I always check to see if I'm blocking anyone before possibly filming a short snippet.
Nobody can sing Metal better then the Great Ronnie James Dio.

+Norm Vance You are 100000 percent correct. Dio, was incredible. And lets not forget, the nicest guy in the business. Vivian is a total ass. Shame too, they worked well together. Should have been called Dio and the Douche.

The Anaheim show version was better because Satchel played the keyboard part on the guitar. I think that really impressed Vivian.
