19 was the first proper grown up perfume I ever purchased and it was back in the late '70's. My first pay cheque went on this and I was so happy to finally own it! I had visited the perfume counter on my lunch breaks and carried those little card strips around with me for a month. I can still hear my Dad's despair when I got home and he saw the bottle in a white box inside another white box in that crisp teeeeny tiny gift bag and said "HOW MUCH?!" haha when I think back I can still hear him yelling for my Mum to come see what on earth I had done ! 😱
I bought Rochas Femme because of your shot a year ago, smelled it once on paper, put it in a drawer. But today was the day I decided to treat it on skin and wow 🤯 I am obsessed! I all so excited to wear this a lot. I will even layer with it- but never mix. I sometimes use two fragrances on different parts of my skin. Never smelled Mitsouko nor Jubilation 25 Woman- I would love to try them❤
Thank you João ! Chypres are my favourites. Bel Ami Vetiver is very good, and I'm so glad you like it, but if you can, try vintage Bel Ami (shaker bottle). You will love it. I'm searching for Jardanel by Jean Desprez. It's a chypre from 1917. !!! But, there's just one glorious Chypre that is missing on this list, and that is Diaghilev. Diaghilev is Mitsouko of 21st century. You will adore it when you try it. So "dirty", animalic, complex and classic chypre. Last 5 that you've mentioned in this video are absolutely masterpieces. Just add Diaghilev, and it will be perfect ! Greetings from Serbia...
Always glad to see you stopping by, Dusan! Happy to know that you enjoyed the video 😊 I need to revisit Diaghilev, but just thinking about that price tag... 😅
Vetifleur by rogue perfumery hardly anyone is talking about and it's amazing. Its like Chanel 19 + vanilla and vetiver. Its made with naturals, and the galbanum lasts 8 hours. You should look into it.
Amazing video , your voice is so soothing. Femme rochas is a masterpiece. I wear it always in the evening , and it smells niche. It is a must have for perfumes lovers
@@ScentedMoments I love Jubilation XXV but it's one of those fragrances that I have a hard time finding an occasion to wear. It's such a luxurious and festive fragrance.
If you’re looking for an inexpensive hidden gem chypre, check out Leather Jardin from Zara. It blew me away with how complex it is and this is coming from so who dabbles heavily with the Chypre genre. It’s an ashy leathery bomb. Smells like it’s straight from the 70s and 80s only with a slight modern twist. For less than $40 you can’t beat it. Surprised Zara took a chance with that one.
Not sure, it looks like it’s out of stock. Hopefully they bring it back, but Zara is known to quickly create and also discontinue fragrances unfortunately. If they bring it back I’ll be getting a backup bottle. Checking now they had it on liquidation for $7.99 before stock was gone!! Crazy
I disagree on Diaghilev. I have tried Diaghilev before Mitsouko and i definitely felt like Mitsouko is a fraction of Diaghilev and i could totally justify to pick up Diaghilev. Also you have to try Amouage Gold Man and Francesca Bianchi Lost in heaven, Etruscan Water and Lovers Tale. Super underrated.
Excellent, excellent list here! I have most of them and love them all. 😊 Antaeus is one of my go-to going out scents, and probably my all-time fav! Vintage Bel Ami is also on my top of the list (not so much the latest version as it’s too light and citrusy, and while the Vetiver version is great I’m not a big fan of the added sweetness, although still better than modern Bel Ami). Why not Roja’s Diaghilev? Admittedly, I have a love/hate relationship with the house. But as for classical chypres go, this is my all time favorite to wear. If you like Mitsouko, I think you’ll absolutely love Diaghilev! It’s expensive, but you can often find it at discounters for nearly half retail price.
Thank you! Glad to know that you enjoyed the video 😊 I never tried vintage Bel Ami, but I have Puredistance M (now discontinued, unfortunately) and absolutely fantastic, very inspired by Bel Ami DNA. I need to revisit Diaghilev! But that price tag gives me anxiety 😅 although it's true that you can find some better deals online
@@ScentedMoments I would LOVE to get my nose on PD M! Lucky you! Alas, it’s been on my radar for more than a year and I have still yet to find a bottle at any price. But I’m mostly okay with that since vintage Bel Ami is the real deal OG. The second formulation (not shaker) is my fav as it’s a bit more refined and posh. A True gem! Also hardest to find, IME. Another great Bel Ami “inspired by” fragrance is Roja’s (once again, sry! 🙄 I’m really not a Roja fanboy…) Fetish. A little more of a smoky labdanum twist, great performance though! Love it in the Fall months.
Hi! Thinking of buying a bottle of Mitsouko, but am feeling a bit ambivalent about the current formulation. Do you have some thoughts on the new version, which has the black sticker in front? Thanks!
@@ScentedMoments always brother. You have led me to such great discovery in my frag collection. Your scent palate is very close to mine so i usually blind buy most of your recs
@Scented Moments Hi Joao, Is the patchouli in the base of Jubilation XXV Extrait a chocolate cake or earthy patchouli? Also, I want you to know how much I appreciate that you don't butcher the names of fragrances and their respective perfumers! Thank you dear one! Lisa
I love Hacivat and would have ranked it considerably higher. But I recently encountered what I believe is the greatest chypre i have ever put a nose on - Amouage's Jubilation 40 Man extrait. But after watching this, I'll have to try the Jubilation XXV extrait for woman. I own Jubilation XXV Man and love the scent profile but despair of the lacklustre performance. It all but disappears in 2-3 hours, which for that price is completely unacceptable. The 40 extrait version on the other hand can last twelve hours plus. It's what XXV Man should have been. It's also more complex, nuanced and transportive.
Hi bro, Gr8 review as always, last few days I was locking to buy jubilation 25, and I knew that it's resembles diaghilev from roja,, so because we have same taste I think I'm gonna love it,, especially from your expression I can say its an amazing perfume especially from big house like lovely amwage 😄😍👌💗😊,, thx alot
Very nice list…considering chypre mousse,I own it,and i can say if you expext classical chypre,it’s not…it’s very like dirt,soil,mushroomy scent.Interesting combo,but not classical chypre like…worth checking?Definitely.
@@vincenthusvh same here! I wasn't a fan of B683 Extrait, as it is more similar to Ganymede than to the original B683 and so I found it quite redundant

Fragrances actually don’t have a fixed gender; it’s all about how we perceive them based on our own experiences and associations. A scent can feel more masculine or feminine depending on who’s wearing it and how it resonates with them personally. It's one of the things that makes fragrance so unique
My top choices, Diaghilev, Great Britain , Chypre Palatin. Also, although not technically a Chypre, I enjoy Bois du Portugal.
Exquisite list! 👌👌
@@ScentedMoments we need the signature background music back, Joao!😊
Who can afford great Britain? What is up with that price? Common Roja.
Masterpierces indeed
If you could find Mitsouko in the extrait version, it is really to-die-for.
