    Yep! Heat is the only way I have found to get original GM u-joints broken loose. Thanks for the video! There is only one other video I have found but they are doing it at a shop with professional everything. This is perfect for people at home.

    I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado.. a 1995 Chevy S10 and a 1985 Oldsmobile wagon. I was working on changing the U-joints on the Olds wagon and it also has the plastic injected retainer ring on U-joints too just like your Tahoo.... so GM obviously been using the plastic injected method for a long time as far back as 1985.

      Yeah I know of 90's Trucks having plastic retainers but I had know ideal as far back as mid 80's thanks for that bit of info.

    Rookie question here, when you remove the driveshaft does the car go into neutral? meaning that will it roll? My driveway is on an incline...

    • @Bryan916
      @Bryan916  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, the wheels will be free to roll, apply the parking brake or jack the car completely off the ground using 4 Jack stands. But be mindful the wheels will be free to roll especially if you are removing the rear driveshaft so be careful!!!!

      @ZBrink11 2 роки тому

      That's weird. I wonder if they had been replaced already? Every one I've seen had them exactly like the one in this video.

    • @butchmichaels69
      @butchmichaels69 2 роки тому

      @@ZBrink11 You're right. I didn't consider that and the clips were obscured by rust and grime. Friend bought it used and didn't know the history of the vehicle. Some plastic did ooze out and I'm not that clever plus I was sidetracked when we first got under the vehicle and the fuel tank strap was missing. We took care of that first.
