The Synchronicity Tour... Hard to believe it was 40+ Years ago. 40 years back from 1983, the Landing at Normandy was still a year away. Let that sink in. The Police really should do 1 last Tour. 🙏🏻🎼🎼🎶🎵🎸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇨🇦
I'm glad they focus on Stuart...that's where all the action is...with that said I do like Andy's atmospheric guitar and Stings lyrics too!! Excellent song...
Fantastic quality!!! Please let there be a BluRay next year with the full Atlanta and Montreal shows from this tour, without any of the special effects from the old edit...
@@Jbones72 Yeah but they finally seem to be opening up the archives as of late, with the Police Around The World CD/BluRay first and now this exhaustive Synchronicity box!! Good times.
Andy Summers didn't much care for the sound of that Spector bass. He preferred the sound of the black Steinberger bass that Sting had used in the studio and on the Ghost in the Machine tour in 1981/82. Summers told One Two Testing magazine in May 1984, "The Steinberger bass was great though Sting now uses some white Duane Eddy sort of thing that sounds a bit twangy to me."
So many great bands and hits from that era. But The Police stood out from the rest. Their music to me sounded so much more skilled and sophisticated than everything else on the airwaves. They were originals. Still my favorite band.
YES and NO to your comment. I’m 70ish now, and agree 👍 the Baby Boomer generation’s years definitely had some of the best music and artists in comparison with most of today’s so-called ‘talented’ people/bands. (But 👎 bc I was never really into the Police as much as you are.) That’s with some exceptions though - there are still, imo, some ‘newer’ ones that I think ARE 🤩 great. What gets me 😱 angry every time, no matter what year, is trying to listen AND hear music videos that gets drowned out by loud, rude, obnoxious people in the audience ! The same holds true for going to live concerts and having the SAME 😩 experience!
Great to see so much Stewart! Would love to see that much focus on him playing one of the songs with more drums. I’ve seen him move so fast that he’s a blur. My favorite.
With camera work by Mrs. Robinson’s 3rd graders out on a field trip. Doesn’t diminish the power of this performance. Stewart has the speed of a hummingbird with his precise strikes along with the ‘air’ or space in his kit work. Kudos to whomever taught him his technique. Sting’s grunts, canine sounds, all quite remarkable, all adding to the ambiance and haunting nature of this song. The key shift when the main verse vocal begins sets the listener on edge and adds to the strange atmosphere. Andy Summers effects pedals and carefully placed harmonic accents show his art rock origins. Remarkable to consider arena audiences had the attention span to absorb such a performance. When I was a young kid listening to the cassette of ‘Syncroniticy’ it was tracks like this that drew me into the Police and served as an entryway to the jazz oriented rock that I love to the current time.
Seguiré insistiendo hasta morir, deberían subir este espectáculo de forma oficial, fue un show increíble, en lo personal, mejor que el de Atlanta, aquí tenemos por mucho la mejor versión de Synchronicity II, Wallking In Your Footsteps y Wrapped Around Your Finger.
Tea in the sahara was definitely already in "the dream of the blue turtles" mood. We work the black seam is kinda similar. Sting was already going towards there...
@@chriskennedy2846Yes. Btw I think the duo Godley & Creme was involved for making this live video. The duo was supposed to make a full- length live in concert video, but failed to shoot everything properly. They reshoot everything in another show in Atlanta later on.
Hey camera man, by the way, their is another member of this amazing group, he plays the guitar and his name is Andy Summers (just thought I would point that small fact out)...LOL
Uno de mis grupos favoritos desde pequeña creo que el primer vinilo que tuve fue Synchronicity….. y vi Dune ( una peli que nadie entiende y es un coñszo ) por sting
Wow - Le Spectrum in Montreal only held about 1200 people. Any reason they were playing such a small venue so late in their career? Was it a warm-up show to try out material before the Synchronicity Tour?
Sting's howling isn't needed in this one, lol. The most mystical of all Police album cuts. Camera person gave no attention to Andy at all in this one, that sucks.
They had another bassist on this tour, you can actually see him on stage in the Atlanta concert during Invisible Sun. This could also be a backing track meant to keep everyone on time which is why it is so quiet.
stings voice is horrible at times lets be honest, when he hits a note flat and sort of bends up toward the correct pitch but not quite. i think this was just a half assed effort be him.
I'm utterly in love with Stewart an Andy's playing but Sting's singing here is AMAZING
one of the coolest song ever. The Copeland panning was incredible,
Andy Summers rules! 🎸
I hadn’t heard this in over 35 years, straight into, all word came back immediately. I still got it.

I was in 6th grade. I was into music big time. This is a great video.
Maybe the best Police video I’ve ever seen. Certainly one of the best on Stewart Copeland.
My favorite Band, since High School in 80 th.
thanks for the great Copeland angle !!!
This camera and sound for monitors make it sound real row and pure . Under a sheltering sky ❤
The Best Band of the World!

Amen to that - the orginal footage without the Godley and Creme mess all over it.
They must have so much stuff in the vaults, need to release it. We’re not getting any younger’😂
Yes, I'd love to see the Atlanta show without the special effects, and without all of the cuts to annoying audience members.
@@Jbones72 Yeah but they finally seem to be opening up the archives as of late, with the Police Around The World CD/BluRay first and now this exhaustive Synchronicity box!! Good times.
Hear Hear !
When Pop was music 🥰
I loved when Stewart said On Stage as long as he kept seeing just the back of Sting's head all was well. When he turned round there was trouble.!
Sting voice MAGIC ... Hooray for The Police ❤
Thanks for uploading this! Crystal clear as though it was only yesterday!
That sweet Spector bass 🔊
These harmonics at the outro 🤩
best bass tone in Police ever

Love this. I see only the middle two drum heads of Stewart's message to Sting are left :-)
This made my day, I hope to see them release more footage of JUST Copeland's camera angle. From the Synchronicity show at Atlanta especially :)
The hi-hat king.
And ride

This takes me to wonderfull moments in my life ...

Fantastic!
Always marvellous ✨
What amazing musicians they are…❤
All on top of their game!
❤ Awesomeness 🎉 chills. Actual body chills. That's cool 😎 lucky 🍀 to have seen you live. An experience 🎉
We need a whole concert with the Drum Cam only. Andy Summers going all-in with the Harmonics during the chorus too.
All masters of their craft!
I loved loved loved that album

Such great footage of Stewart. Those Octobans have been beat to hell and back.

Melhor banda existente na face da terra

Listen to that bass guitar 🎸
I am with the other commenters: Copeland angles!
Then we get close ups of Sting's beauty, too. Nice. 👍
@@alexisdvorkin6611 Agree! I’d love to have seen more of Andy as well!
Damn that's my dream bass Sting has

the camera guy is missing Andy, probably the one he needed to cover for this song if wanting to show the best parts of it :)
I think it was a multi-camera project but this video here was just footage from one of the cameras.

Wow. Very clear video. Thanks

Don’t start off with Sting standing around dressed like a pirate while Copeland’s putting in work! 🤣

Oh those Simmons drums that spoiled almost everything they were part of 😂
Did you see Sing finally looking over his shoulder after about the 4th hit? 🤣
Can any musician out there tell me what time signature this is?
Wow - Le Spectrum in Montreal only held about 1200 people. Any reason they were playing such a small venue so late in their career? Was it a warm-up show to try out material before the Synchronicity Tour?
Bet it was really atmospheric and quite intimate.
they interspersed smaller shows with the big ones just to keep it interesting for the fans
x wife loves her tea.
I think the audio and video are not quite in Synchronicity ;)
Jännä erikoinen biisi, . En oo kuullu ennen 😊😊😊😊
Hell yeah, the only problem is you used the Anti Summers angles!
Sting's howling isn't needed in this one, lol. The most mystical of all Police album cuts. Camera person gave no attention to Andy at all in this one, that sucks.
yeah it needed to go to him at least for that instrumental break and at the end.
That's Feyd-Rautha
If it had a squatted truck, a guy in boody shorts with a baseball cap and curly hair, it would be my hometown Walmart parking lot.

@@giantgrunt8823 Ok, thanks for the info. I'm guessing that Sting is talking to the other bassist at the start of the clip?

Probably Danny.
MTL > Atlanta. Prove me wrong!
completely agree. The setlist in what was filmed is slightly shorter, but what's was recorded was better.

It seems like this guy with the camera floating all around the stage almost getting in their faces would get either distracting or annoying.
🤔

OMG, what sounds did he make at the beginning? My ears are bleeding now... 😣 - Overall a horrible version
