I really really believe that slow cinema / video is the way forward. It’s hard to convince music labels though! Hopefully more people champion the cause!

@@jordanm6432 Ben Rivers has made some beautiful films, usually falling within this ‘nonfiction’ category that takes key concepts of documentary and blends them with artistry. Also Abas Kiarostami is worth looking into!
Broooo your simplistic and minimal style speaks volumes!! You and many other film photography youtubers inspired me to carry a point and shoot and care more about every picture I take. Thank you dawg!
it really gave me chills. i adore your vision, the heart behind it and the simplicity of the process. it almost puts us in a meditative state, which serves the music really well!
you absolutely nailed it, the video compliments the audio really well! and also i agree that most musicvideos distract from the music and keep me from enjoying the song.. they're like a really cool genre of short fims though..
I agree with his idea of not wanting to take away from the music and making the experience of listening to the music better. But being a "video guy" myself. I also like the idea of having the music video exist almost as its own entity away from the song. These movie type music videos are becoming very popular, which is good I guess. But I also like the idea of the future of music videos existing next to the likes of feature and short films.
every one of your videos, photos, projects brings me so much peace and joy. love these little moments of respite that you're putting out there on to the chaotic place that is the internet.
I think it works really well. It suits the music and the atmosphere. The shot is static but there is a lot of movement from the shifting tree branches and the ripples from the rain. It is very poetic.
Great! I've been experimenting with this lately too. Having a "moving photograph" like this to focus on kinda makes you immerse yourself in the music even more, I find. Sort of takes away any distractions. I like it a lot. Love the negative version!
I really liked the video, and your reasoning behind it improved the experience too. reminds me of the recent videos for the fleet foxes acoustic versions. And stark contrast to Black Keys' latest video which has so many edits and effects I was convinced it must be a joke or a dare. made me feel ill for real.
it might not seem that simple to other people because they don't know the process begins it as you do. But in the end of the day it doesn't matter whether it's simple or complicated, the emotions any art awakes is the most important thing. I've felt what you described while watching the video
Visually i prefer the negative video and understand why it was only used on the instrumental version, as I would probably find myself looking at the details of the imagery and possibly not taking in the lyrics if this was used on the first one.
It's just a puddle for me, but, it doesn't really matter what I or anyone else interpret it as. I have plenty of photographs that mean a whole lot to me that most other people would just glance over completely, and some of my most popular photos I don't care about. I work for a music artist myself and the video I put the most time into and was the most proud of, flopped, and ones I've whipped together real quick did insane on the socials haha. Art is subjective and it won't land with everyone no matter what you do. So, keep creating what makes you happy, I'll still be here to watch the videos regardless. Cheers, my dude.
I think the idea of this is great but I do wish there was some sort of variation in the video. Once I know the image will be staying the same for the whole time, I feel that it makes me less likely to watch it. But maybe that's the point; to listen to the music instead of focusing on a visual. Definitely not against this and I think it's worthwhile to explore especially when there are a lot of music videos that rely super heavily on post process and VFX. I also fucking love what you said: "I don't want to try and steal the show from the music, my job is to try and make the experience of listening to the music even better." I think what I'm trying to say is that this intention is exactly what artists should be doing when making a music video, but that maybe it's a bit too simplistic
Beautiful. Music and video. The aspect ratio seems to guide focus and attention making the whole experience more intimate. Creates a whole poetry. Like that you found it so close to home. A good inspiration to be open.
I tried many times to convince artist and musician to choose this kind of videos for their music, but they never understand the potential, and they go for performance video o classic storytelling, how did you convince youngdumblovers to do this kind of video??
isn‘t it weird how photography is wanting to be cinematic but video is trying to be photographic
Damn
*pass the virtual joint*

hell yea
I love slow cinema so much. Over dramatisation is horrible to experience.
Toby Hawkins anything you’ve particularly enjoyed? Looking to watch more :)

King Krule came into my mind...nice poetry.
I really like it! It's almost abstract and fits the music very well.
Thanks!
I love seeing the progression of the stylistic choices in the video!

i love your way of thinking and creating, you're all about the story and that makes you great i think. have a great day!
George is a production genius. When there's a remix or a new version of this song, color version of this clip can be used as a music video.

The video and the song is great btw. Simple and effective.

I love the inverted concept!
The change in aspect ratio its something pretty cool i never considered before, also the negative version its lovely
If you're happy with it and so is your client, that's all that matters.
I think it works really well. It suits the music and the atmosphere. The shot is static but there is a lot of movement from the shifting tree branches and the ripples from the rain. It is very poetic.
I love single shot music videos. And I especially loved this. My kind of video. My kind of collab. My kind of gig.
I like the instrument shot
You sold me! At first I was like “that’s boring” but now I think it’s genius. Super inspiring man keep it up

Love the negative version!
I love it! It’s a music video. Music first and video to support the music. It doesn’t have to be a spectacle on own.

Thank you for sharing. We enjoyed the durational shot and morphing reflection.Reminded me of films by artist Nicky Hamyln.
Thank you so much! This was the motivation I needed today to go out there and shoot.
Thank you!
bruh, i did not expect to watch this and hear ed scissor LOOOOL, big up
my guy doing slam poetry..feels good
Beautiful!
beside from the video, the music is beautiful!
loving the mullet Mr Gergo
It kind of reminds me of the music video for the Replacements song "Bastards of Young"
wow, it is very beautiful, thank you very much for sharing this piece with us!
Thanks
stunning and perfect
My man really jumped from photography to a whole ass music video
6:41 Or lightning!! Sudden missable moments, but things you’ll continue to treasure. Sentimental
It's beautiful & calming. I thought the tree looked like neurons.
loved this!
I like the visual simplicity of the video, but it's very subjective. I like it for what it is and found it more interesting by your take on it.
God I love Ed Scissor, what a writer

Damn, why did it take me so long to realize it was a puddle rather than trees and a lake supercomposed over each other. 🤦♂️
Great video dude but I wanna see more photo walks and reviews

They trusted me
It works 👍
Ok.
I’ll get my coat
Very cool my dude :)
sounds like minecraft music
Some wise words 👍
Catch up with Alex Soth his latest tube videos are in the same place as yours right now 🙂
I respect what you have done. Though, it feels lazy.
I've got a bunch of boomers together, and we're launching something called Quibi ("Quick Bites", obviously). It's going to be the next MTV
