    Lizzy, I so enjoyed your video! I was right there with you on your bead troubles only because I could imagine how frustrating it would be. I hope you get lots of good advice! Great job on your smalls and little pillows. They turned out adorably and that's impressive to have stitched them by hand.😊 So many sweet projects! I'm one of the many who enjoyed your sampler September freebie video, so thank you for taking the time to do that!

    That you are sewing the little pillows by hand is amazing! Good for you for trying and then Doing It!!
    If you found a vintage washboard, that might be a cute way to finish your Halloween countdown on.
    Thanks for the great flosstube - happy fall!

    I find it admirable that you plunged right into finishing your smalls into pillows and hand sewed them! My MIL would much rather hand sew things than use a sewing machine and if you watch Sun City Stitchers, Carlene hand sews project bags and quilts! They're cute and we all start somewhere. I'd have to show pictures for helping with beading, but you can't do that in comments here 😄 . Have you watched any Flosstubes for beading? The Giddy Stitcher has a great beading tutorial and Helen D does, too. The thing with Mill Hill beads is that the holes just aren't uniform in size. Some of the openings just won't slip over a beading needle and I discard them. I hope that you find what works for you. I really enjoy adding beads to my cross stitching and don't want you to be discouraged with it.

      I admire anyone who hand sews, but hand sewing a quilt oh my gosh I can't image what a labor of love! Going to check out sun city stitchers thank you for the recommendation. Also for the beading tips, i have watched some beading videos but haven't stumbles across those to so I will watch thank you! And yessssss on them not being uniform, I'm using petite beads specifically for the part I'm beading now and some fit fine and some will barely go on the needle haha. Thank you for your help I'm definitely going to take everyone's comments and tips into account and keep going! ☺️

    Great job, it’s fun to see your growth and progression. Finished is better than not. Plus you are learning and having fun. Just a suggestion look up tutorials by Vonda Pfeiffer, Helen D, Primrose Cottage, and Hands on Designs ( there are lots of others too but these are really good ones) to learn more about finishing your cross stitch projects.

    I came here to say pretty much what everyone else is saying lol. hand sewing all those pillows is awesome. I don't think I"d have the patience for that lol. I'm almost done with your pattern Oh Snap. The stitching is done, the finishing is still being worked out. I really got messed up somewhere and had to make a lot of adjustments . i hope you don't mind.

      Haha thank you it definitely took patience but was well worth it 🙂 I don't mind at all, I'm so honored that you've taken the time to start and finish it! I would love to see a photo when you get to fully finishing it 💕☺️

    Finishing isn't as easy as some make it look, yours look fine, I like the smalls & the Santas. I'd get that blue tape off ASAP. Beading needles will get through the bead, but they are a pain to work with, it takes patience & practice, keep the "tail" of floss longer at the eye & hold your fingers on that eye, so the floss stays on it. You can go through twice to secure the bead, I don't knot.

    • @Lizzyspurplecloud
      @Lizzyspurplecloud  11 днів тому +1

      You are so right, much respect to anyone who can make finishing look effortless. And don't worry I took the tape off as soon as I was done filming 😀 thank you got the advice, knitting seems to be what causes the issues, so I'm definitely going to give that a try thank you for your help!

    What do you mean about a knot? You should not be putting a knot thru your bead. Secure your thread and there should be only 2 strands of thread going thru the bead. I usually use a size 28 needle with beads.

    • @Lizzyspurplecloud
      @Lizzyspurplecloud  10 днів тому

      By knot I meant the knot attaching the embroidery floss to my needle☺️ thank you for the tips! 💕

    • @tamarabrown4570
      @tamarabrown4570 17 годин тому

      @@Lizzyspurplecloud I've never used a knot to secure thread to a needle. Use the thread just like stitching, knot.
