I just had the opportunity to hear Helene play these Fantasies live in Los Angeles on 4/19/23. The audience, myself included, was blown away. They hooped and hollered through four curtain calls and three encores. She was mesmerizing!!
No.6 is on the slower end of the spectrum but not so much that it is under tempo. If any are under, then it’s No.4, otherwise all seven pieces are played exquisitely.
I think that it is accepted that Helene is the best interpreter of Brahms today. This is exquisite!! Thank you, Helene.
I want to go to bed but I can't; it's too beautiful. I guess I'll listen to the end.
No 4 is very song like . Its a remarkably intimate piece beautifully played.
Truly one of the greats.
Brahms himself would have been captivated.
Mon dieu que c'est beau !
Interpretazione nuova, affascinante... very very good!!! Giuseppe Perego Monza 16.2.1962
Best performance on UA-cam. In my opinion, better than Sokolov's or Gilels'.
I agree, better than Sokolov who plays the intermezzi far too slowly in my opinion

MARVELOUS....!🎹🌠
Dynamic perfection.

Жизнь коротка, ❣️ когда для совершенства дана бывает. И нам возможно выбирать конечно ж иногда.😮😢😊❣️👌🛟⛳
Интересно, это студийная или концертная запись? Весьма не дурно...
The distortion is awful...
SMASH - CRASH and TOO LOUD!!
116/6 much too slow. Andantino. Walking. And the final crescendo too soon and too big. It's only forte.
andante and andantino are not the same.

I more have an issue with how she delays every bass note by a millisecond…. very infuriating
