Grooves & Sushi is the new web series from acclaimed bassist Norm Stockton, featuring many iconic, world-class musicians recorded and filmed performing together live in Norm’s living room.
Each session assembles musicians who have never played together prior to the taping, playing music that has never been performed before.
An on-site sushi chef serves up great eats as Norm & his friends share their thoughts on music, sushi, creativity, life and more.
And YES, it's like an instrumental music & sushi-based version of "Live from Daryl's House." :^)

This is one of the best series on the Internet. Thanks for putting it together
Aw man...THANK YOU...very much appreciated! We sure enjoyed doing Season 1. Please pass along to any friends you think might enjoy it! Who knows-we left the door open for a Season 2, if it works out! :^)
Like the conversation 😄 lovely music too!
Thanks & so glad you're liking it, Cizarina! New episode releases in the next few days! :^)
Fantastic music, brilliant melodies! Quite insightful and human (yes!) conversation. I‘d love to see the scores. Please keep up the episodes!
Thank you! I'm elated that you're enjoying the episodes! :^) Your kind words are appreciated. Yes, many more episodes on the way!
Norm Stockton , I have the impression that quite often, music has gotten often arbitrary and superficial. It simply gives confidence that there are still professionals out there that seem to care and take serious what they are doing. Thank you!
Awesome music, awesome playing...and really interesting and funny conversations. Really love this series!
Congrats Norm! As always, you are the Man!! :)
Thanks so much, Davide! Great to hear that you're digging it! New episode coming at the end of the week - stay tuned & please pass word along to anyone else you think might enjoy it! :^)

Thanks, David! :^) Glad you're liking it!
@@normstockton big fan of your music!!
Great music! Great stories re: Celebrate and sheet music mixups, etc. I have a lot of those too, but this one was a stand-out! I was in a band with a blind guy once and we were playing a country club gig. It just so happened that the wife of one of the patrons was also celebrating her birthday. This blind guy kept trying to get this woman up in front of the stage to take a bow. "Don't be shy! Stand up and come on up here and let the folks see you!" She was in a wheelchair and we COULD NOT get this guy to shut up .... he was on a vamp and would not stop!
Brutal! :^] Glad you're enjoying Grooves & Sushi! Thanks & please share with anyone else you think might enjoy! :^)
On the Jaco's instructional video, he is not even playing "the bass of doom". The bass of doom was GONE back then (stolen) and he is playing some other jazz bass with a maple fretboard BUT he sounds the same like he would on the "BOD". Good video btw. Very pleasant to watch.
YES, great point. And thx for watching! Much more to come... :^)
So good! Thanks for another chance to eavesdrop on a world-class session.
Thanks for watching! So glad that you're digging it. Much more on the way! :^)
Tassie Salmon! Yum!
Seriously though, love the conversation. So agree that finding an instrument you resonate with can take a lot of time and effort, and frustration.
It WAS amazing! :^) Stoked you're enjoying G&S, Phil! Yes, very rewarding when you find the instrument that does it for you.
Norm I am continually amazed at your skill and the group of musicians you have pulled into this huge project. I look forward to many years of enjoyment of your music and musical guidance!
Thank you, Brett! Stoked you're digging it & see you soon! :^)
Absolutely amazing music, groove, conversation and the sushi looks delicious!! I must say that every time I see or hear Norm play, I just want to smash my equipment!!
Same. He makes it look so easy.
Thx for the kind words, Butch & David - but please, no smashing gear! :^) Stoked you're enjoying the tunes & conversation. Lots more coming soon!
2:07 this song so peaceful makes me want to sleep easy
