Tbh, the lack of the real Connor being in the musical (alive ofc) actually bothered me a lot lol it's probably the reason why I can't get into DEH as much as I'd like? The fact that the entire musical rides on the plot point that Evan is making up who he was is great for the plot and conflict, but it makes me feel bad for connor. We never got to know who he really was
on another note, i absolutely love this drawing ;0;
i relate tbh, i'm still not fully on board with this musical bcs i just can't get over the fact that evan did That. but i really love how it expresses insecurities & issues?

See that's the magic of a lot of popular musicals nowadays. They give you an amazing plot, and they hint at other things, but leave them sort of ambiguous, allowing the fans to speculate, and write fanfiction. This helps boost their rabid fan base. That's just how I see it though
I really think that was the point of the musical. As much as I'd like to learn more about the real Conner, I feel like the fact that we didn't just makes in SO much more emotional. Hell, not even his own family really knew him.

This is so amazing!! The shadow and shading is so perfectly drawn! The proportions are so accurate. The emotions of this drawing and the music I the music emphasizes it. It's drawn with so much thought and detail, it's just so much to take in. I loved watching every second and if you don't mind I'm going to watch it again and again and make my sister watch it and it'll be great

The expressions really say it all in this piece. Connor’s unforgiving expression and Evan’s panicked one reminds me of how a person would react if the ghost of someone they had wronged had come back to haunt them, and, essentially, that’s what happened.
Will someone explain the musical to me? I've heard about it and I really like the songs, and from what I can tell the story is really cool, but right when I thought I understood what was happening just from the songs, I read other things in the comments and I'm like "Okay so I should keep my mouth shut" XD

Evan was suicidal and didn't have friends. In an attempt to kill himself by jumping off a tree he just breaks his arm. He tells everyone he fell. His mom had a therapist and as a way of expressing his emotions he wrote letters to himself "dear Evan Hansen " well he basically bumps into connor. he signs his cast. but he picks up a letter where Evan mentions how sad he is and talks about Connors sister Zoe. Connor assumes the letter was written to make fun of him and hurt him. so he gets mad and runs off with the letter. when Connor kills himself that letter is found and everyone thinks it's actually his suicide note. and they assume Evan is a close friend. Evan caught up in the idea of this perfect family and life with Connors family lies and lies about his relationship with Connor. and ends up creating an organization to help suicidal kids basically. In the end he tells everyone what really happened. And yeah. that's basically it. there's more but that would take a while to explain. if you still wanna know anyway. this comment was a long time ago.

This is so well done it perfectly captured how guilty evan is at this point with everything coming to a head dkfjksjgfkdjdjdjgklghlggh alSO i dont think anyone’s mentioned that by this point in the musical evan has his cast off. Like at the start of the second act after you will be found i think is when he gets his cast off? Might be mistaken. But yeAH this is so well done shading and composition and emotion is all 👌 👀
