The only reason the limited her buff to only pyro/electro teams is because if you add that with VV Kazuha you could one shot Teyvat with Raiden

Just a heads up for people who want to play her. She doesn't buff the overload reaction itself, it's just her buff requires you to proc it.

@@Kkuroshiroespecially with the nilou restriction, it'd be normal to misunderstood her as an overload nilou.
I like that they make characters that encourages and empowers specific reactions like this, gives you more reason to use said reaction. Especially for less "powerful" ones like overcharged

Chevreuse is acutally a extremly good DPS Dehya party member because she fixes 2 of Dehyas main issues. First of Dehya has a hard time applying other elements while she is in her burst form but electro team mates can do this quite well (and you even get the res shred). Second of Dehya has a bit of energy problems but with Chev's C1 they get a lot better.
Furthermore a big plus for Chevy compared to Anemo res shred is that you get the res reduction for both pyro and electro while anemo has to swirl both elements which is a lot harder.
Dehya in mono pyro still better aint it? The overload would fling enemies and maybe miss her hits and someone like kazuha can group enemies and other of his utility
@@ragno-monoover4710 Even mono pyro has extremly high ER needs. Not even talking about the fact that you can throw Raiden in for more ER reduction.

These days? Has always been in every team since 1.0 lol. Benny is actually a little less meta nowadays since Dendro teams don’t need Benny and more characters have HP scalings.

I'd say her best DPS to support are Yoimiya and Yanfei. They have a decent range which can mitigate the knockback of Overload since they don't have to chase that much. Yoimiya's team was already established ever since she was released so this is a good buff for her!
Meh. I used to play overload team a lot with yoimiya/yanfei with fischl in my early days as a genshin player. you still chase them around a lot and you lose seconds of your ES with yoimiya chasing those scattered mobs. And note that Yoimiya's ES has like a 5 sec downtime. The only solution i find to grouping small mobs with overload is with the help of Venti's burst.
@@keithnesson3870 I use to do that with Venti. Also Viridescent Hunt helps a bit a well. I don't have quite the troublesome experience you do due to being totally up in their ass before bothering to shoot, but I can see the pain for sure.
My biggest issue is actually swapping forgetting that, unlike recent characters, she loses her Skill on swap, lol.

In case you didn't play much with Overload, fyi Overload doesn't only knockback enemies further away from you, it can also knock em up. Auto targeting with bow users are a bit complicated more so with fast NA like yoimiya. There are a lot of time you may miss your NA when the arrow projection from Yoimiya NA already release in the air and the enemy suddenly knock upward from overload making the arrow original target miss. What about when the arrow target miss on her 5th NA which is her highest damage? That's a DPS loss. This is the case of light enemy, but it can also happen to medium enemy like mitachurl. Nevertheless, this isn't really an issue if the enemy knockback further away on the ground.
Oh poor Fatui Operative that's so light you can almost stay permanently up in the air by just Overloading.

Actually pretty happy her healing isn’t bad. I know she’ll be a weaker healer than some other options, but the fact she’s the second pyro character that can even do so is nice, gives you options.

I think limiting element team comps to certain elements is lowkey very healthy for the game in my opinion. Because with every new chsracter that used to come out, people would just slap it on national comp and call it a day which is just such a boring team comp at this point when there are so many other ways teams can be built with a little creativity. Niche=more fun.

I disagree, because it overall makes you able to play wayyy less teams. All you can play is pyro and electro, and if you wanted to use another teammate, you simply cannot, or the character will perform much worse. I wouldn't really call that a good thing.
@@castielysia But lets be honest. That other teammate would have just been Kazuha or Venti about 80% of the time. When do you actually not use them? Aggrevate comps with Nahida specifically..? Geo teams...? Yeah. Its a new play style that forces players to build their team in a way they would otherwise *never* do or use characters they would otherwise never use.
@@kookio4284 Or it would've been literally anyone else? My point is that if I wanted to play any non pyro or electro character with her, her effect wouldn't be active, which really sucks. Same thing with Nilou.

She might be really good for pyro archon or/and arlecchino later down the line
Supposedly, she could be good for a Clorinde/Arle team, as they both supposedly work with overload. But that's further down, there's no guarantees on kits.
Now we need a character that buffs or makes use of Superconduct :D

@@Bluzlbeethere's a reason why eula's rerun has been the longest to date. nobody plays her. and it's not because of her playstyle or her numbers, but because genshin totally neglects the superconduct reaction and physical damage altogether. mika was probably the last hope for physical dps enjoyers such as myself.

I like that hoyo is experimenting with these niche team types. I want to see hoyo do something with electro charged or geo structures. Ik zhongli can make some special geo structure teams but other than that, there isn't really anyone that utilizes them. I hope in the future they make a geo unit like kaveh that utilizes geo structures.
i agree that i like the niche teams, but i'm curious what you mean by a geo unit like kaveh? what does he utilize that's similar to geo structures? (genuine question, not being sarcastic or mean or w/e)
@@Akeyins I said kaveh because he prematurely detonates blooms. The geo character that I had in my mind would interact with these structures similarly to how he did with dendro cores.
They could break them, duplicate them, buff them, etc. Kaveh is just the first character that came to mind
@@Coneyislandw ahhh okay that makes sense. I'm not sure a character that destroys constructs would ever happen since a lot of them are buffs or just straight up damage (or a taunt like ushi), but it would definitely be interesting to see a character who could buff them
@@Coneyislandw well, zhongli made all geo structures into turrets. Geo traveler + zhongli = wide range turret + obstacles
To get her healing interaction with Rightful Reward right, you kinda have to wait for 2 seconds to get healing on Chev before you swapped out (see 1:21) to get the energy restoration buff from the weapon effect. Even if the weapon effect can be triggered off field, Chev healing can't trigger off field because it's not team wide, and it just heal your active character. This made me prefer The Slime Killer aka Black Tassel more as ER doesn't really change her gameplay, and the HP stat is bigger.
An unprecedented support pretty much giving equal amount of a buff using two four star buffers is actually a pretty amazing addition to the roster. It quite literally provides build Diversity which I am all for it.
Oh, this was so helpful. I'm almost certain to c6 her (pulling c3 Raiden and c0 Yoi) and I've felt lost on what artifacts to give her.
I skipped Navia so the Song domain hasn't felt like a great investment, but I have a bunch of great GT pieces laying around, and some HP pieces I can yoink from Layla just fine

@ninatote6426 from what i see in sumeru, they are experimenting in weird skills, but dang i hope they released an alpha stage where they ask the testers if the current skill synergizes or contradicts itself, and change it completely if needed,

Honestly, I feel like they really did good with er her kit. She's niche, but excels in that niche. It's nice to see that.
I'm so happy overload getting an upgrade. I've been using overload since Ei and Yanfei was in my team together. This is neat
I was thinking since her attack buff is so long wouldn’t it be really good for cyno dps? Even though Aggravate+bloom is probably better it would probably still be a cool team
yes it is, just try with thundering fury cyno dps, no more hyprbloom
The great thing about an Overloaded team, I think, is that some of the drivers available like Yoimiya or Yanfei don't really care about keeping enemies together. Chevy's burst just helps them not get too far apart.

With the roster of characters growing, it might be useful to dicuss opportunity costs moving forward as character slots are becoming increasingly valuable.
Chevy seems to do a lot of what kazu does (ele shred, ele dmg buff (c6)) while also giving atk buffs, healing, and CC. In the big picture though, does she justify replacing the raw damage that XL provides, or the swirls and superior CC that kauza offers? IMO, no; the pyro/electro restriction is a liability in abyss.
I think these are the important questions to answer moving forward.

Overload is bad in general but in Floor 12? Where enemies either cannot be staggered or very high stagger resistance? She pretty much made for that purpose.
yes as a c6 chevruse user i can say that my top 48% raiden with bad artifacts can clear floor 12 all floors in 1 min 45 sec.. which is bad but i need to farm
since fontaine we got all gun impact chars: neuvilette literally death star from star wars, navia literally canon ship and umbrella shotgun and now a sniper which drops bomb and buffs strong chars even more so klee the child with nukes can get even more chaotic lol

As a Xiangling main, I'm happy that I get to use my Raiden and Fischl better now, and also free Bennett from being a battery for Xiangling

I now use Lyney with chev, and the issue with having to chase them virtually dissappears as his charged attacks and taunts allow him to fight from a large distance. Having three pyro characters also buff Lyney's passive so that's a good plus.

I tried 10 pulls didnt get her but got C7 Sara instead, I dont want to risk of getting another Raiden/Yoimiya, but at least I got lucky on weapon banner, got EL in just 10 pulls, at 11 pity before pulling on weapon banner.
She feels so good. Restricted but good. Mine is still lvl 40 and C0 yet I was able to comfortably clear the first half of the abyss with her alongside Raiden, Kuki and Xiangling. I can't wait to level her up. The only thing I might ask for is another Electro subDPS that isn't stationary and can be driven by Raiden. If only Beidou worked with Raiden... Smh.
If I'm already comfy with her as solo sustain. I'll drop Kuki in favor of Fischl. Gosh, if Beidou only worked with Raiden.
What's funny is she doesn't really boost Overload, like how Nilou does to Bloom. I wouldn't call Chevy teams "Overload" teams, because the reaction isn't the focus, it's merely the trigger for her other buffs. They didn't really "fix" overload, in that sense. Still, I'm just happy to get another pyro support
Yup classic genshin, instead of fixing the problem, they make it "fixable" if you have enough money
As c6 she can even work outside of overload teams. Just using her as a healer with 40% attack buff and 60% pyro and electro damage and slight groping with her ult. Can imagine she can be used with for example Furina.

100% my thoughts too. When she was rumored to be overload restricted. I thought she would make it the focus. Kinda disappointing that it’s not. Maybe a future 5 star overload focus character paired with her is the plan.
Natlan have electro and pyro dragon, maybe new overload will be a thing in there... Hoyos known to release chars that will shine when new country releases
What if
Thundering Fury Chevreuse (F2P team)
Team: Chevy, Bennett (C6), Fischl, EMC (in place of Raiden)
Builds:
Standard builds for Bennett and Fischl
Emblem and ER weapon on EMC, shoot for about 300% ER
TF and Kitain on Chevreuse
Main idea: Fischl Snapshots Bennett, EMC's Q and Oz apply a bunch of electro for Chevy, allowing her to constantly use her skill. EMC's skill supplies extra energy for any character that's falling behind on Energy, thought this likely won't be much of a problem.
it also might be good for the coming pyro archon with raiden as sub-dps. just a proposition.
I’m glad I built her with the Songs artifact set so I can use her with Benny who has the Noblesse set.
Wait do you need to have only pyro and electro characters in the team or only one electro and pyro character will do for the passive to activate by Chevreuse?
You need atleast one of both elements but every party member needs to be either pyro or electro. Basically if you have 3 pyro and 1 electro the passive will activate but not if you have 1 pyro 1 electro and 2 hydro
If you can keep your hp under max for your active character, she allows you to proc maruchasse
She's really the only 4.3 second banner character
With the release of chevreuse i can spculate that arlecchino is going to make overload batter meybe it will remove the knokback just how navia absorbs crystalise shards or how nilou makes bloom pop faster

I like how she works. (maybe her E cooldown is a little too long for quickswap teams). But it is on a banner i already have the 5* characters for. And C6 4*. So for now it's going to stay Raiden, Fischl, Xianling and bennet.

Her giving the exact same res shred as VV is interesting. Only "catch" is that you need overloaded reaction.
With one half of the Abyss being mostly a boss fight (or consistent Elite waves), Overload is less of a problem nowadays
Feel Clorinde might even make her better.
what rotation did you use for your lyney team (chev + lyney + bennett + fischl)?
I'm a bit surprised Lyney was not the first best choice for Chevy team comps - she seems like his best support at the moment with Lyney perfectly utilizing both healing and element restriction :D
Yeah its good, the only bad thing is that Lyney will lose his passive %dmg because of electro

Chevreuse makes my Yoimiya team so much simpler to use, with upgraded Fischl (Golden Troupe) and Bennett, Yoimiya (and Fischl too) can now hit like a truck without needing to vape and swirl.
Edit: AND she only needs at lv.70 talent lv.1!!!!
My man Gacha will become even faster and Release the Pyro Dragon sovereign before its release maby when a archon Quest like 'Fight from the Devine ' Starts where we can feest meet the pyro sovereign (This is not official so don't make any theory or react false to this comment please)

Id agree on second part, but disagree on first part. Her team restriction makes her pretty much useless.
No it is necessary, it creates new team comps you would normally not play. I mean how damn boring is it now to constantly use Bennet or Xiangling all the time. Game becomes boring as hell. The whole point of Genshin, with it's huge roster, is to play different teams and characters why use the same ones all the time. That is something that has never made sense to me with the Genshin community. The whole point of Genshin are the characters but yet everyone wants to only use Bennett and Xiangling. The route of going with Niche 4* is a good thing and they improved it with Chev because she is great at C0 unlike others have required constellations to be good. Build more characters up and then it is no longer annoying. It's that simple.
The problem with making new teams is constantly not having enough loadout slots and for some odd reason people just hate loading and reloading party swap over and over so some people are turned off by the restrictive team comps rather than swapping out 1-2 characters is just less of a hassle for most players..@@Sinjade Personally I think they're just being lazy but It would be nice to get more party loadout slots for more team comps to be honest.

I got lucky and got c6 when pulling for c3 Raiden. I already have Kazuha built for Raiden hypercarry, but I didn't pre-farm at all for Chevreuse. Should I build her or stick to Kazuha?
my current team is yanfei, xiangling, fischl and zhongli. im thinking of getting chevereuse to support my dps yanfei, should i replace zhongli with chevereuse or make a new team?
I hope in future overload can stagger and interrupt even the heaviest enemy that can't be suck by anemo cc. That way, overload team would be way more popular

As a Yoimiya main and f2p player, of course I want xinqiu or yelan or at least any other good hydro character so i can vaporise. I've been using yoimiya, bennett, fischl, and yunjin because the only hydro character i have is barbara 😢 and after getting chev and watching this vid is like 😌🧡🏖🌅.. It's my time
